Very interesting vlog Dickie and good to see the old bike that "Saved" you getting some much deserved tlc. I will look forward to seeing it being ridden when the weather warms up:)
@@DickieMintCycles I would like to try it, There's a lovely section I know, lots of pots holes, I once saw a well known local rider take a swim there:)
WOW that's a very inspirational message and video and thanks for sharing your story with us. I often say , we are only on this planet once so make sure you make the most of it. Riding motorcycles is very therapeutic at times and good for our overall wellbeing. We can get a emotional attachment to certain bikes because of what they have done for us. Well done on the fork's refurb , looks just right and now ready for the better weather for you to enjoy some riding. 😊😊😊
Well done Dickie what a great Vlog and the reason why the bike is so special to you. Nice job on the front fork legs, I really enjoyed this type video. 👍
Thanks Dickie. I dont have a Harley (yet) but found it interesting. Always like to see bikers working on their bikes. I think your story was great, just shows you we all need something to give us hope at times of despair. Yours was the bike. Keep well.
Yup! They are life savers. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I bought a Harley. My missus questioned whether it was a good idea to buy one before my surgery, my response was I don't know if I'll come out of it (I was in theatre for 11 hours). The look on my oncologists face when I turned up for chemo, on the bike and had to find somewhere to park my helmet 😂
That's bloody fantastic story Jezza ..😄.. They're definitely good medicine...The lady at the end of the film has gone through a similar journey as you I guess, and is still dealing with the aftermath of the treatment... Hope you are now feeing a lot better now, and enjoy that bike! Wishing you all the best bud, and take care 👍
@@DickieMintCycles Cheers Dickie! Life threatening situations certainly change your perspective on life. Hope the lady in your video is on the mend, and send her my regards and best wishes. The treatment can be brutal, but as my oncologist said, it's better than the alternative. I've got a few minor residual problems, but I'm happy to live with them. For me, the main things are to look for a silver lining in everything, do everything the docs tell you (the NHS is amazing), and just keep going - the power of positive thinking!
Hi Dickie, Some great tlc there lavished on the bike, a nice job and well done. I have a few nasty long lasting injuries from crashes while racing very fast bikes in the early 1990’s. I know it’s a long lonely road back after some big bad injuries, but we need to keep going. I’m 60 now and appear to be getting more fragile as I age. I enjoyed listening to your story and hope you remain well and enjoying the bikes for a long time to come. All the best Dickie, regards Chris. 👍👍👍
Bloody Arthritis Chris...And old injury's...We all get it eventually....Comes with living in Britannia i guess 😄...Never had anything bad bike wise, {Touch wood} and that's riding most days for 46 years....Then a truck accident, totally out of my control gets me ... Thanks for watching Chris and take care mate 👍
Great story I've had a very similar story surgeon said he wasn't sure if I'd ride again i also have a roadking 98 reg 1460 stage 3 tuned whitch i love last year me and the misses rode to north Yorkshire for 5 days and although it was raining all the way up i enjoyed every mile and had a big grin on my face
Great vlog Dickie, obviously I had no idea about your accident but your words are inspiring . I totally agree with you when you say you can get through it, i’m sure you went through some dark times but the love of the bikes pulled you through… for me it would always be my dog, me and my border collie live for hiking and wild camping, anyway the Harley sounds bloody great and look forward to the video of you taking her out on the road👍👌
