I don't know if you're gonna read this but I just wanted to say a big thank you. Your 6 videos helped me a lot to understand the basics of coordination, what I couldn't understand at university. I'll return the favour to your patreon in the future 👌

+Hussein Fahema Thanks! My intent was exactly that. In fact, I have come to find out that many facility engineers and technicians were never taught this stuff - which I believe is very important for themselves as well as their safety. So this an introduction. It explains "why" we coordinate. The next video, I hope to explain "how" we coordinate.

Though Power system protection is a complex subject but this video is taught in Very simple manner and contains very valuable information so that laymen can understand it. if the music be removed, this will make it excellent.
Good video, quick note that the third transformer should be a 480-208V txf not a 4160. I'd like to see one that gets into some more depth explaining a bit more about the coordination curves and the changes with time/current.
Hello! For the coordination purpose the time of operation of downstream is faster than the time of operation of upstream device. If the coordination is not met such that the upstream breaker trips before the downstream breaker then it will hit the overall reliability of system. Hope you find it useful. Best regards, GeneralPAC by AllumiaX

In Power System Protection course we will cover the requirements needed to design protective devices and the applications of these devices through a schematic diagram. Furthermore, this course will analyze the effects of all types of faults in power system along with the easy hand on calculations. To develop your strong concept on fault analysis we will discuss how faults can be identified by analyzing waveforms. Lastly, you will learn the most tedious and complex theory of symmetrical components that are found in different types of faults. This module consists of six parts, each building upon your knowledge based on previous ones.Get 𝟗𝟎% 𝐎𝐅𝐅 on 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬: bit.ly/Power-System-Protection

+moumen yasser thanks for the feedback. Yes you are right, the bg music is distracting when it's that loud. I have reduced the bg audio signficianly in recent tutorials.
I hope someone could answer my question. I have six generators (1 MVA each) supplying a system through two transformers 0.4/11 kv. I need to add two more generators (1 MVA each) through transformer 0.4/11 kv My question is do i need to change protection settings after adding thses two generators?
Hey Dawod, Yes, protection settings will be revised. As adding new generators will increase the current, the pickup setting will change as pickup depends directly on the current. If protection settings are not changed, then there is a high chance of false tripping during normal operation, affecting the reliability of the power system. Hope this clears your vision... True you are right I hope the presenter takes note and makes correction
Good video, lower the volume of music though
The 3rd transformer should step down from 480V to 208V and not 4.1KV to 208V. I do enjoy the video overall.
+Sun Shine yes! Rookie mistake. Thanks for catching this! :)
Right

@Generalpac which book do you recommend for Protection Coordination.
Is there a chapter on this in John J Grainger book?

great video but the background music is kind of loud
