    Thanks for sharing. I just made this fudge yesterday, I made a video. It's really good and I was surprised I didn't mess up without a candy thermometer. 😊

    This is my husband's favorite thing to eat for the holidays~ I remember trying to make this as a young girl, and it not setting properly...I didn't have a thermometer! Now I've finally mastered making fudge!

      That is awesome!! Yeah unfortunately for this particular fudge you really need a thermometer it isn't as forgiving as the quick microwave fudge with sweetened condensed milk which I also like, just not as good as this classic.

    That looks amazing! Is there a substitute for marshmallows due to animal products?

      Thanks! No, not in this recipe. You can try this quick fudge recipe instead but it still uses sweetened condensed milk. ruclips.net/video/wvnl4AXYBEQ/видео.html but no marshmallows. It also tastes different.

      @inthekitchenwithmatt Pork gelatine is in marshmallows, but alternative ingredients are in others. If you were to do a video on making them with agar agar, it would generate some interest. I'll check out the provided link.

      @@kevinhanley6462 Yeah you may be able to find marshmallows made with a non-pork-based gelatin, but not sure.

    Hello Matt, would this still turn out to be fudge if I missed out the chocolate and the nuts?
    God Bless take care xx Jean from Scotland.

      Hi Jean, no if you don't add the chocolate it won't really be fudge, or I guess if you add the vanilla you could maybe turn it into vanilla fudge. The nuts can still be left out though.

    My only question I was taught to add a T of white Karo to make more shiny
    Do you agree or not

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Месяц назад

      No, I haven't heard that, you don't want the fudge to be shiny, you actually beat the fudge to get rid of the shininess and that is how you know it is ready, it also helps it not to be grainy. But it definitely won't hurt to add a Tablespoon of Karo.

    Now that Christmas is almost here, how about make something that isn't sugar but artificial sugar that doesn't affect blood sugar? There are a lot of people out there in the world with diabetes.

      People with diabetes shouldn’t be having something this high in sugar, even artificial sugar, I know it’s not fair but unfortunately sugar to a diabetic can be poison, my husband is diabetic and he was a massive sweet tooth, he will still have a small piece of fudge but very rarely, 😊

      I have plenty of low-carb recipes here on my channel :) That don't have sugar. Here is one example: ruclips.net/video/cVqkyDCcL44/видео.html with that said, you could try making this fudge with sugar free chocolate chips as well.

    This is not old timey fudge. Old timey fudge does not contain marshmallows.

      Um this recipe was made by my aunt in the 1950s. That is definitely old timey fudge. And marshmallows have been around for since the 1800s. And long before that as medicine (thousands of years)
