Guys like Pat Day, Jerry Bailey, Gary Stevens & course Chris McCarron were so instrumental for horse racing terms of knowledge, skills and just way he spoke so articulate. God I miss seeing him ride & get interviewed after big races. Possibly the greatest of all time or simply the G.O.A.T
Chris Mc Carron the greatest tactical jockey ever. Class act person. Also in my opinion the greatest turf rider I have ever seen. My favorite jockey of all time!
Didn't know he was on SSilence in 89' BCup-- Pat Day got a lot of criticism-- but in reality C McCarron ran the race perfectly-- Used his Horses best attribute- running the turns-- just enough. Alysheba one of my all-time favorites after Secretariat-- for some reason- I just loved Alysheba. Thanks for it all Chris.
He said it Best about the 1989 ride on Sunday Silence...Brilliant tactics he used to hold off Easy Goer at the Wire...Couple more jumps and Easy Goer went right by him after they hit the Wire...Easy Goer was the Heavy "1-2" favorite also...Brilliant ride by McCarron ...
I miss the rocking race with old best guyes.... Can't we do one ..with Eddie Chris ,Gary. Pinky +++++ maybe 7 f at the great race place ... With some sound 7 year old field's. The stands would pack ! Thank you athealets
He Even Mentioned in Another interview That His Ride aboard SS in The Classic was The Best Ride of His Career...Was a GREAT Tactical Ride but He was Also Fortunate Pat Day Gave Easy Goer a Terrible Ride
