As one who drives for a living, snow in the lowlands is not at all a good thing. I see countless drivers almost every day who have enough trouble driving on a clear sunny day, let alone in rain or snow.
@@Hyakman5408 I understand you. My friend is truck driver. It’s a hardest job in a world. Drive through the country in snow, freeze, icy weather, tornadoes, high winds big challenge for drivers.
Amen. My DH drives too & I worry every time it snows, so I've been happy this winter. Icy roads & inexperienced drivers have caused me many a sleepless night. Be careful out there, everyone!
I hear that. I hope against lowland snow because I hate listening to the old growth white oaks loosing branches or coming down - especially since I live underneath three of them! 😅
I drive for a living and having very little snow the last couple years in low lying areas is NOT a good thing. We lost almost all our fruit trees last years due to no insulation for root systems. If you don’t like snow move down south!!!!!
@courtneytowery8152 I'm referring primarily to drivers in the greater Seattle area, who do not see very much snow on the ground in any winter (some winters none at all). Also, a great many of these drivers are employed in the tech sector and are transplants from some US states, but more so from countries where lowland snow is nonexistent. I interact with them every day, directly and indirectly, and can give 100 different examples each week of people who have no idea what they are doing behind the wheel, and who don't have a good understanding of US and Washington State traffic laws, etc. Conversely, I rarely encounter any troubles driving in the eastern half of the state. There, I say, "Let it snow!" Drivers east of the Cascades are much better in adverse winter weather. And, as has been pointed out, the snow is needed for very practical reasons.
Thank you, Michael! Wow, fantastic, it's wonderful to see you with this update! You certainly go that extra mile for us, and believe me it is much appreciated!!! Come on Mother Nature, bring on the fluffy! Wishin and hopin ❄🌨❄☃❄⛄it's so exciting with just the anticipation of the "fluffy"... Have a good night everyone, and dream of❄❄❄❄❄⛄😃
The wife & I are really diggin' your channel Michael! 👍 Ready to see a little snow 6 miles Northeast of Arlington, up in the foothills. 🌨 Time for some donuts! 🍩🍩🍩😂
Snowplow is at the ready, extra firewood stacked on the front porch, and heading to town today to pick up next week's groceries so we don't have to go out and risk an accident but can enjoy any snow that falls east of Kelso.
Thank you for the update- your detailed reports feed my hungry weather-curious soul! Really looking forward to greater certainty with this potential snow event.
You're going to have to do some local snow storm chasing for us...enjoyed the 70mph Enumclaw east wind chase and the Whidbey kite surfing chase...time to get the white chase going...
It’s just going to be cold miserable rain that will maybe ice the roads over night and morning maybe. Like this cold clear weather though with no snow on the ground. Kills those bugs and slugs and keeps the funguses down good for the garden and our Xmas trees.
If I remember right in 1985 during November we had too lows one developed of the northwest cost of Washington and the other off the Columbia River we had about 1 foot of snow when thay were saying maybe less than 1 inch of snow
1,000' elevation west of Longview here....any way you slice it, farm chores aren't going to be fun next week lol. Got the show shovel out just in case!
Snow blower , salt is ready. Roads are brime and road salt laid. All city and highway trucks have salt spreaders and snow blades installed. Being in the Eastern Fraser valley, the out flow winds and windchill for Sunday. -9 C windchills -16 or( 3 F. ) . Cold for. 10-14 days? Saturday thru to Wednesday, some snow / blowing snow gusts. Poor visibility and water freezes on contact. It’s still warm compared to Quesnel area ? There it’s expected temperatures of -27 C / windchills-35 C ( -31.2 F. ). Roads should be fine for driving but strong wind gust with blowing / white out snow. A few days from now , ice chunks and an ice bridge will form on the Lower Fraser by Agassiz.
A separate topic for you Michael: Have you done a segment on, or at least some mention of, the volcano they are saying may erupt this year off the West Coast?
Any meterology amateur sleuths care to answer this puzzling question? Where I live in western Oregon our 10 day forecast is showing the cold air and rain/snow mix, but on each of the precip days the winds are in the 5 to 6 mph range from the south or southwest, but then on the days without rain it's from the east or northeast, and my question is wouldn't the air masses coming from a southerly or south-westerly direction more likely end up bringing warmer air masses, not these colder snowey condtions?
Any chance arctic boundry pushes moisture with it to the south east puget sound lake tapps area? Usually see that with north arctic winds headed down the sound and pushes a band of snow south
I hope NO SNOW as I'm the only one that shovels a path down my alley so that ALL my neighbors on my block can drive in and out. I'm also the only one that clears off the sidewalks. Everyone seems to conveniently disappear while I'm out there and when I'm done they come out and say, "why didn't you say something? I would have helped"! lol Funny people.
I know you like snow but this weather sucks for those of us who don’t usually have this much freezing weather! This snowstorm has the potential to really mess up people’s lives!
My predictions: (Probably Not True) 99% sure most of the valley getting snowflakes. 70% Sure that most of the valley gets some snow on grass 50% sure most of the valley will get a dusting, 40% sure that most of the valley will get at least 1 inch of snow 20% sure that most of the valley will get 1-3 inches of snow 10% sure that most of the valley will get 3-5 inches of snow 1% sure most of the valley will get 5-8 inches of snow
The weather channel always have a name for snow storms. Nothing for us though. We need to change that one. If we get snowstorm out of this start with the name Hazel. Winters torment Hazel.
Sunrise!
17 degrees in Ventura County down south in CA, didn't see that coming. Bet we broke another record.
@@LeTrashPanda Wow! Strange weather all around!
