I saw a repeat of Citizen Smith a few years ago. I was a bit shocked to see they actually froze the frame after every scene. An effect that hadn't worn well.
just love that chiefe.......................I was on det with my sgt. years ago, and we turned up at somewhere in east anglia, to finfd the swo was a chiefy................Brill
any Americans watching or people from other countries, Blackpool is nowhere near Yorkshire although the two counties of Yorkshire where they are said to be and Lancashire are neighbouring counties. But these two counties go from coast to coast across the upper end of England. Midham Yorkshire is just short of 84 miles from Blackpool. Back in the era when this is set in that 84 miles would of been a lot further away and taken a load more time. Yes today it would take under 2hrs dependant on traffic back then it would of been 6 hours plus.
A lot of the outside shots are at RAF Stanmore Park circa 1974/5. The SWO was a Flt Sgt. I also spent a few Orderly Cpl's in that guardroom over the years...
I missed this. I love Smith cuz he's a badass hunk. I like Richardson cuz he's smart. I love Bruce cuz he's cute like a baby and adorable. I can't stand Lilly cuz he's annoying and puny. I hate puny men.
You seem to forget that it was Lilley (notice the correct spelling of his surname) who helped them to "ring the bell". Hardly puny. People like you who judge a book by its cover are really in no position to comment about other people in a derisory way.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
Love the sounds of the flight sergeants studs from his boots on the ground brings bk great memories 👌
I love the way the actors have to freeze at the end of part 1. Gerard Ryder was cracking up!
I loved seeing Robert Lindsay corpsing!

Shame the picture is stretched. What's wrong with using the correct aspect ratio?
Marsh wouldnt really be allowed to keep his corporal stripes. He would be back to AC2 wouldnt he?
