KrispyKrabby something similar happened to me, my old cat puss-puss (terrible name but i was 3 when she was named) had to to put to sleep in june 2018 (she was very old and was having kidney failure but we happy she lived a long life). 2 months later we were ready for another cat to cheer us up (we have another cat and he was bit lost without puss puss even tho they hated eachother), so we went to a adoption place and they rejected us because we put our last cat to sleep
Long story short my friends sister had to give away her 8 week old black male kitten, we called him dexter and 2 years later he is a fat demon who throws up rabbits on my bed :)
TBH, feel bad for you guys.
Instead of actually helping cats, these adapted pet shop seems to think that pet owners love to euthanize pets, or increasing the amount of perpetual pain in animals is a great idea.
F*** those pet shops/ adaption place.
My cat Alan was neutered at a time where he also, like Luigi, had not gone through cat puberty.
So we forever have our tiny female cat who meows a lot, and if you don’t remember or know the meow you think that she, the little rascal, is Alan.
Alan on the other hand is about 14 pounds (which is healthy for him, he’s a long boi), will cuddle you to death, and has the meow of a kitten. Without knowing who is who you’d get the roles completely mixed up.
For example: Take Luigi’s eating and other rambunctious habits and put them into a tiny 9 pound cat and then take the meow and male part and put that into a 14 pound cat.
That’s those two…
Also, how Luigi and Juli… Julie? I’ll just go with his sister… interact is very similar to Hope and Alan!

That "never went through puberty" thing explains a lot about one of my cats. We found him crying on a doorstep two houses from mine when he has but a lil' baby. But as you said, his meow never got deeper and he eats like a maniac. Thankfully he never went through the "terrible twos" phase tho, he just stayed baby lol.

My sister owns 12 free roaming cats. Meaning, they come to the house sometimes, but mostly they love to just run around the fields and forests nearby.
One of them, named Moritz, is a cuddly fellow, who likes to sleep on peoples faces, necks, shoulders and anywhere in between.
Gandalf, his brother, is a relaxer, who loves fighting the cacti on the windowsill.
Meowthie is very shy and loves high places.
Fatcat is the big bro. He's defender, avenger and bodyguard of all the cats. He even fought a very aggressive Sheperd Dog once, that has strayed to the property and attacked our dog out of the blue.
They all are unique like that.
The trash eater in our family is called "Sock" Johnes. He had a habit of eating socks, the carpets, tapestry and the likes to get our attention and also vomited a lot. :3

I got a bit of a story:
When I was super little, we'd visit my grandparents across the country and they had a cat named Yogi. Yogi was this big, fluffy, black and white cat. every time we'd visit over the years, Yogi would always be there.
Well, Yogi lived to the ripe old age of TWENTY-THREE and he lived to only that age because my grandparents finally mustered up the courage to have Yogi put to sleep. By the time he was finally euthanized, Yogi was blind, deaf, hairless, couldn't move around hardly at all, could barely stomach any food and never knew where he was. He'd attack almost anything that came near him because he never knew what was a threat and what wasn't. To be honest, he should have been put to sleep a lot sooner, but my grandparents were super attached to the cat and weren't ready to say good-bye, as selfish as that may seem.
Sometimes, euthanization really is the best thing you can do for your pet and the stigma surrounding it is bullshit.
One of my family members had the same thing. As sad as I was, I knew it was for the best that she stopped suffering. Sometimes it's hard to admit, but euthenization is often better than the animal suffering for the last years of their life. People just need to come to terms with that.

On the other hand, my cat lived to 18 and that was because when I was like 6 my mum took her to the vets and they were like ‘oh this is really bad just kill it’ and my mum asked if she was in any pain and they were like ‘no but the scans are bad she’s not suffering at all but you should probably get her put down’ so my mum took her away and never took her back and she lived like 7 more years without any pain or really any issues except she was deaf, her teeth were removed (before my mum got her because apparently her old owners couldn’t be bothered to teach her not to bite people when she was a kitten) and she had a bend in her tail from when a dog tried to bite her. So the only thing wrong with her that they were somewhat right about was that she was deaf. And I don’t trust those vets any more. So basically, yes, euthanasia is sometimes the best option for your pet, but if they’re not suffering and it seems like the vets are just saying you should euthanise them with no reason, maybe take them to a different vet before you make any decisions.
i wouldn't call it selfish. it may be irresponsible maybe, but some people are just stubborn and some just cannot morally kill a cat. some might try everything in their power to save them

Once she got used to her new home, tho, she became the biggest DORK on the planet, with a love for chasing and attacking things, and screaming for food. She's the undisputed queen of this house, and the funny thing is...she absolutely knows it.
I just love how Luigi is drawn when she makes videos with him.
That's how they treat the animals. Instead of ending its pain in a less cruel way they'd rather let the cat die painfully

some rescues are shitty like that and take "no-kill" too far, to the point that the animal suffers. thankfully not all rescues do this, and many are humane and lovely.

I feel like that cat rescue at.. that pet place is very uh. elitist? i filled out an application to help clean the place/play with cats. i explained i had a bunch of time to kill before work. and i'd much rather spend it playing with kitties then... idk... doing nothing productive (bad time in my life) and the lady sneered at me when i asked about volunteering. i mean i'm a guy, i never see guys doing this. but i'm a small gay guy who looks like a nirvana roadie 8(. so yeah, i feel you.

two week ban from the Petsmart for eliciting nightmare fuel but the adopter got a talking to by the person running the adoption spree that euthanasia is allowable to end the suffering of an animal that can't be helped.
I'm going to put this out there when you're ready to get another cat if it's late winter to early fall I'd recommend looking at a kitten of two (two is usually better than one and when intergrated young usually have no problems getting along unless they just don't like other cats) but if it's late fall through most of winter is recommend looking at older cats. This is cause in kitten mentioned time they're espically in summer overflowed with kittens cause of kitten season but part of fall and winter there's not many kitten coming in (unless it's warm all year round) so it's good to give the old kitties a chance

The best way to make sure your cat doesn’t eat random stuff is to make sure he never gets the opportunity to do so. Keeping the house tidy and free from debre will help. Keeping food items off of the counters and places he can access. Sectioning off parts of the house where he can and cant access will help to prevent further chewing on chords and cables. Think of it like having a baby and childproofing the house. Its the same with cats.

Luigi looks like one of my parents’ cats, who also eats things he’s not supposed to. He ended up being one of the biggest of his litter and his sister (who my parents also adopted) is just itty bitty, so they have this hilarious dynamic of being one lorge cat and one very smol cat

Bruh i agree with illy,if your pet is in pain and can’t be cured ever,you should youthinize. You don’t want them to suffer. My cats are both dying right now,but they aren’t suffering (info on my cats: The oldest is Prima,a female,and she’s 18 in human years. The youngest is Chewbacca,a male,and he’s 13.) They are both older then me,so we are just gonna let them enjoy their last days with me :3

I sadly had to euthanize 2 pets because they either had a disease or their existence was just pure pain and agony to themselves
The animal centre is a store and have no right to discriminate/blacklist customers, it isn't any of their business what the future owners decide for their pet, especially euthanisation as it is legal and humane - she even said that it would only be done as a last resort, the nerve of some companies!
I wish people would think this way about people too.
Euthanasia is illegal in so many places that it's mind boggling!

This reminds me of my cat. She is the naughtiest cat on the planet and was also weaned too early. She didn’t really like me until she got one of her back legs amputated, and during that process, I hung out with her all the way, helping her climb stairs, and comforting her when she forgot she didn’t have 4 legs with pets and encouragement. Now she really likes me but my dad refuses to admit I’m her favorite >:3
