I daily drive a regular cab first gen I bought from my teacher in sophomore year. This is absolute goals. Anyone with any taco dreams of being able to go fast anywhere, safely, with hand tailored entertainment... and ac.
People really underestimate the 4.0 vvti. I had an 05' that I went all out on, extremely fast and would go through anything. Babies came so I swapped up an started building the fj. It's running the 4.0 too. For a big girl, she can shake it buddy lol. Still got a few more things to do to it, all in time.

@@andrewsmith2948 ya know, I don't mind it. It's gone be about the same regardless what you do to it. For example I've got my fj sitting high and wide. Only major difference is she's now damn near unstoppable
I have a 4.0 tundra and it’s super reliable and decently quick for being a 2012 V6 but engine mods are crazy expensive

Nice Taco. I ended up taking out the 8" on the FJC after breaking it 8 times, and went with the Currie F9 rear axle with 3 link setup extended the lower links to 39" best upgrade I have every done. Now I don't have to think of breaking another rear.

Dude I remember supercharging my buddies Taco back in 2001 and back then NOBODY was doing that and it wasn't a factory option either. After that it was Jacobs Electronics ignition system, AEM cold air intake, JBA shorty headers, BIGGER charger pulley, underdrive pulleys and several other performance oriented mods. On the aesthetics side of things I installed the VERY 1st set of REAL Lambo doors on her, lowered the truck using Belltech Sporttruck suspension and bigger breaks to slow down some heavy 20" wheels..Keep in mind nobody was doing shit like that and social media wasn't a thing back then, so no way to document it for the public. Still have plenty of pictures though...

I'm curious, does anyone think his rear shock need tuning? Looks like a lot of rebound off his full-send jumps.
IMO, To have it plush, you need to lighten it as much as possible without the kick. Generally after a jump you would want it to rebound all the way up and go back once. If it goes back to the exact ride height, its to slow and that's reaching the point of critical damping.
Why would you get hate for riding quads? All toys are fun. That's all they are is toys if you're gonna rip with'em. All toys are awesome.

What is it about the 2008 tacoma model trucks that everybody wants? i have a sliver 2008 tacoma sport dual cab 4x4 with a full icon stage 7 suspension kit plus fab-four front rear bumpers with some little extras looks very clean.I just can't belive how many offers i still get to sell my taco they just never seem to stop, but i just can't part with it, after all it is my daily driver & gets the job done.Very cool video & Toyota truck i can only dream to have something that fun & cool to that extream. You say they have weak steering racks, other guys say the drive shaft can rattle, others say the transmission isnt perfect, they still have rear drum breaks... i have always loved the idea of having a Tacoma, but after i do more research, i just keep thinking, "Is this really worth it?". What is it about these trucks that makes all these short comings okay?

The Chevy trans conversion is something you just do when you start building a Toyota right? Advance Adapters has been making the kit since the early 80's. He is certainly not the only guy running around with a TH400. We've been doing this for decades.
