Tracks very well. I rarely have to use the paddle for adjustment. The extra large rudder holds the line beautifully.

Wherever the tournament organizers allow. Some say the same with the addition of motors. What’s your take on it?

Your not carrying this in a truck bed. You lost your mind. This isn’t even the third best drive in the industry. Old Town, Hobie and Natives drives are a lot better. You should have just bought a bass boat. Old Town Soortsman Auto pilot 136 is the ultimate kayak and in that one I can throw it in the back of my truck and go any where including deep water ocean. I’ve seen these tip over from big waves. I understand your trying to sell it so good luck

    • @reellifejasoncassettyfishi4781

Thanks for checking out my video and for your comment. Yes you can absolutely use a pick up truck for transport. The footprint of the boat was designed with that in mind. With the integrated landing gear the blue sky would be easier to transport than the AP136 when using a truck bed and yes I've been in one and have several friends with that boat. When it comes to the drive I have to disagree with you. Having owned the above mentioned kayaks I can say that the Mark IV is the best all around drive. Hobie improved their drive with the kickup fins but no others tuck into the hull out of harms way like the JK does. The older version did get noisy when it was time for more grease but the new belt drive is stronger, quieter and faster than any that I've owned before. I'm not trying to sell it just giving interested folks an opportunity to check it out.

    Just MY OPINION
I just do not see how it is at all the least bit financially worthwhile to spend anything over $2k on a kayak when for $3k and above you can buy a very capable used boat powered by a outboard motor and a $3k 14-16' fishing boat powered by even just a 9.9hp motor is a much better fishing platform In every possible way vs a kayak
I mean a 12' kayak outfitted with all those things especially ones with a foot drive system HAVE to be transported by a trailer and if I have to tow a trailer and launch at a boat ramp I'm darn well going to do it with a boat I can take out in all but the worst conditions and fish very comfortably in with ZERO risk of capsizing and loose everything or most everything
I have made it a point to notice days on the lakes I fish most how windy it is while I fish and at LEAST 50% of the days I fished this year winds were strong enough to cause problems for a kayak and lastly in a boat I do not have to worry about capsizing when the water is below 70* and poses a very significant threat of hypothermia killing me if I capsize and every single kayak You Tuber I've watched all said it is essentially inevitable you will either capsize or fall out of your kayak
In my opinion unless you have a good amount of smaller lakes near your home you can safely fish in high winds in a kayak I feel it is just plane financial foolishness to spend $2k on a kayak let alone $3k to the $5k and above I see people spending on a kayak that most be towed and stored the same as owning a full sized boat when you get none of the advantages over a kayak you get fishing from a full size boat offers
Yes there are areas of a lake you can access with a kayak you can't with a full sized boat but there are going to be many windy days its just not practical or even safe to fish using a kayak you don't even hesitate using a full sized boat in.
There just far to many limitations for kayaks to fish most lakes to be worth spending the same for a nice used boat and not get the boat.

Appreciate your feed back. One of my passions is fishing kayak tournaments so having a kayak is obviously a need. The used boat market is pretty steep and unless your talking about a jon boat I feel finding a sea worthy dependable "full size boat" will be pretty tough. The Blue sky is easily transported in the bed of a pickup truck and can be launched from shore or boat ramp so you don't have to use a trailer. Is it expensive? For a kayak its like an Escalade. You don't have to have it but if you want the coolest and best SUV you don't buy a 97 Explorer. Both may work some just work better and yes that comes at a cost. Plus I like the exercise, the low to no cost of maintenance and the experience you get from being out on the water. Have you ever been on a high end kayak like this? If not I'd love to connect you with a dealer so you can try it out for yourself.
