We Ukrainians make mostly gorilkas, not vodkas. Vodka is different product and it's mostly industrial but even vodka we call also gorilka. Don't even ask me why :) As for horseraddish tincture, it is called hrinovuha and red pepper one is called pertsivka. There are lots of different -ivkas and -ovuhas like zubrivka, gorobynivka or medovuha and all these are gorilkas. Medovuhas we make could be yet ANOTHER drinks though, like Scandinavian mjod or Scottish mead, way milder than 50 or 40 degrees :)

    Hello Mate
Im very much into beer tasting .
Does Ukrainian beer have its own special flavor like British beer ?
And how strong is it ?
I am Canadian but i dont like Canadian beer , its to
    sweet for my taste .
One thing I like about Canadian beer is that it is a bit stronger than British beer
Most beer in Britian are 4.6 ABV , where Canadian beer
    Is 5.5 ABV .
So what is Your honest oppinion of Ukrainian beer Mate .
If there were 2 pints on the bar
One ukrainian , one Briish , which one would You drink 1st , and why ?
How does Ukrainian beer taste different from English Beer .

Mostly brewery started here when Ukraine was a part of Austrian empire, abd beers were expoted to "mainlands", so its mostly european lagers as base layer. After ww2 a lot of Chech brewerys were stolen and rebuilt here togerher with receipes. After 1991 receipes diversifyed a lot, so, you can find anything you wish. From light to really heavy, from white to heavy porters. Most old aka "soviet" types are little bitter and funky because of filtering problems. New ones dont have this issure.

My mom's mom was forbidden to speak the language by her husband because he didn't understand what my grandma was talking about with my mom, who was a very young girl. It was meat and potatoes in their house. My mom shared nothing about the culture, etc.
Hello! I apologize for being rude in taking up space here.
