- A 1959 Gibson Les Paul is probably the holy grail of guitars, and they cost as much as a house. Here I have an amazing REPLICA of a 1959 Les Paul made by a Luthier I know. No detail has been brushed aside, this is pretty much as close as you get to a real 59 burst.

Mike has been playing the guitar since he was 12 years old, and from that first moment his love affair with music and the instrument began. Fresh out of school at the age of 16 he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and completed a year-long Diploma course.
After finishing the ACM his life as a full time musician began, playing in numerous bands and touring up and down the country playing iconic venues such asThe Shepherds Bush Empire, The Astoria, The Underworld and London’s Jazz Café. He’s also been fortunate enough to support industry legends Paul Weller, Blondie and Katie Melua.
Mike’s session work has led to his working on a variety of projects - from performing with stars such as Ricky Wilson and Diana Vickers, to appearing in many TV shows and adverts. Mike loves being on stage performing, but is equally at home recording in a studio - where he has worked with Alex Von Soos (All Saints, Seal, Atomic Kitten), Mike Horner (The Prodigy, Shakira, Bloc Party), and Mike Chapman (Blondie, Suzi Quatro)

Awesome guitar mate I just want your playing skills!!
I just uploaded my 1957 replica I made 13 years ago woild like to hear what you think?? Amazing gutar and player!!!
I just uploaded mu 1957 Les Paul Replica I made 13 yrs ago type "1957 Gibson Les Paul Replica fail! ".. would love to hear what you think no one has even viewed it at all .. amazing guitar and playing I bave watched every single of your uploads!
@@ezragonzalez8936 I will check it out!
Thanks for (re) sharing this with us all. Gorgeous guitar, and beautiful Les Paul tone. must've been a privilege to play. "As Always".... enjoying the channel!
You should watch a RUclips video called Joe Walsh shows you how to setup a Les Paul where he shows you how to actually play the whole lotta love lick correctly, it’s pretty cool. Little different than the way you or most people play it.
Mike, I saw this the first time round. It was pretty neat then but I man it just seemed better this time. Let’s not kid ourselves that it’s your playing that makes the guitar sing and the craftsmanship of the luthier that make it possible. If he gave it to me I would make it sound like my daughters first nylon string classical at her kindergarten Christmas show. 😬. Great video again. 👍🇦🇺
I remember this video... And I love it!! That's my dream guitar, it just looks and sounds AMAZING. By the way... That sustain... BOOM🤯
I don't see anything wrong with making a replica. Its a celebration and do whatever you like :)
What if I can make a beautiful Replica of a Hundred Dollar Bill?
@@JamesAllenJr If you want to play riffs on the $100 note or frame it then fine. Use it as legal tender or label it as genuine then no. Same thing with the guitar, it is the intention. Though there is likely specific laws on currency.
If you're not intending to sell it as what it's pretending to be and you have the skill to make one, by all means. Most people don't have $250k to throw away on a guitar. And it's the ultimate proof and challenge of one's superior craftsmanship.
I just got myself one , a 59 Bloomfield on Ali Express. I'm blown away. Changing the pickups but for 300 bucks I've got a guitar that otherwise was out of reach for me. The Bloomfield is around 7 grand .. thank you chibson
7 grand!!! That’s crazy!!
I remember this vid from back in the day as well. Loved it then, Love it now........
Your the best! Awesome vid on a super slick replica! I love you playing style, I've been getting back into playing/learning again and been trying to get my head around so much whilst lockdown hit hahahaha. Greetings from Australia!
Thank you Kevin for the kind words, means a lot.
Pickguard is perfect. Well done!
Guys need to check out 8bomb guitars. He makes PERFECT sounding and looking 1959 les pauls. Perfect
Slash’s Les Paul as you say, was a Replica, but it helped Gibson get back on their feet, I think as long as it does not have the Name.
Wonder if Billy G from ZZTOP
had a LP called a Gibbons, if they would Sue?
Slash's les paul replica had gibson on the headstock
Oh man my jaw dropped at that sustain
looks and sounds great, beautiful guitar
This is july 17 friday at 11:34 and I just watched your video, you have a great feel and groove to your playing,, I really enjoyed listening, you brought to light something I really never had much thought about, and that is the awesome craftsman out there that could make a guitar as good or even better than a commercial brand, I'm sure some of that would be because you're not massive producing for income so to speak, but rather trying to create the most awesome sounding, best feeling, greatest looking most perfect guitar you could ever hold, but then again that is a personal preference, and we all have different tastes, thanks for your video I really enjoyed it,
Geez: some originals don't reach the level of this "replica".
Beautiful guitar sounds amazing. Yeah speaking of the Max bursts they go for ridiculous money. I’ve seen a few for sale and they are asking close to 30k for them 🤦🏼♂️. Your friend does great work would love to get my hands on one of those. Anyway cool video nice guitar. Have a good one✌️🤙🍻
50k or more.
With original 50’s parts..😏😏😏
I remember watching this when it came out :) . I was thinking of this video the other day which is weird
It’s like magic! 😊
Love this video the first time, just as cool this time. Hey Mike, what’s the certificate on the wall behind where you play ?
Love your videos, learn a lot from them.
Cheers Greg. That’s my diploma from the ACM.
i think they are amazing, sadly i love the aesthetics of the custom with the multi binding and that diamond headstock.
Yes... L P Custom's are amazing. &, The Vintage ones are quite different then Most "Regular" ones & most Repro's. The 50's. & Early 60's are SOLID ( Honduran Mahogany) NO, Maple top. Later 60's & { Then the NIGHTMARE 70's} are, Litterly "Butcher block" body's & often a Maple neck !! ( Same, Butcher block, on Standards ) (70'S) Uggh ! & Not so good - Pickups. Ppl: Speak highly about "Shaw" Pickups. Well at STAGE VOLUME... Unacceptable Microphnics. "Squeal like a Pig" & Really, @ that time, Didn't SOUND GOOD. Replaced With Seymour Duncan Rewound PAF's. I've had them on a few guitars. LP''s. & they are UNREAL ! "T tops" are WAY better than Shaw. ( Maybe they are better now) I have ACTUAL PAF's in 3 of my guitars. & I've found then in the strangest of places !! Just being honest.
Sounds good, looks good, tastefully played. 😎👍🏼
Lovely sounding Les Paul the tone is always with the guitarman hands that’s a great guitar I’ve just picked up the new Epiphone’50s Inspired by Gibson. With a great setup it’s playing lovely too!🎼🎶🎸👍🏼
Amazing flame on that Les Paul.🎼🎶🎸👍🏼
Ooh nice one, congrats on the guitar!
Lovely guitar and great playing. I'd love a 59
Genius, life is life. And things do actually happen, brilliant!
Really nice guitar man, although I have always been more of a Strat guy, this sounds really nice
Mike - great playing, love the videos.
Hey Mike I’d love the info on how to get my hands on a beauty like that...
What is the original date around when this video was recorded?
Thank you!
this is literally the guitar i've always wanted same colour and everything, any chance i can get a dm on where to buy it please, because i cant afford a real one lol

I've been looking hard at Wizz pickups, I'm curious how they would sound in a tribute
I’ve only played one set before, they seemed very trebly.
I just got my first Wizz set last Monday. I had Aleks wound me a custom set. By far the best PAFs tribute pups I have played. Very subjective of course ;). But my next set will also be a Wizz set. I think they would sound great in a tribute.
Still great 👍🏻
Ridiculously nice guitar! I just wish the builder would put his name on it. I have an old Tokai Love Rock that is def a replica but technically just a copy that doesn't infringe. Hate to admit it but your friend's may be a bit nicer! (tiny bit).
The ones before the loverock were even better
Help someone,please...what is the name of the builder of the guitar? I suppose I missed the part when mr guitar player mentioned his name.
Thanks in anticipation
Hello where can I buy one can you give me the information and how much would it cost for one like yours? Thank you
Sounds great, could you pass me the information to contact him?
The builder of this guitar passed a few years back. You looking for a convincing burst replica? There are a few US/Canadian luthiers who will build for the right person.
@@keefjunior4061 do you have any specific luthiers that are considered to be at that level?
Hi , who made it , I need one
Mike your playing is going to sell a lot of guitars for this guy.😎
Great guitar!!!

Just put a SM 57, another mic, nice amp, simple? Looks bout' right there!
What sort of dosh would I have to strum up to bag one of these ?
You're probably looking at 12000 rupees if not a bit more
Where can i finf a good replica,
Are the tuners correct for 1959?
Love this!! Who makes these?
Hey was wondering if I could get the name or how we could exchange some Info so I could get onto one of these 🤩
Dear lord….. the sustain 16:52
Reissue or handmade?
What site did you get this one from? DH? Ali? Ebay?
Derrig brother... Kris Derrig and the Other is Peter “Max” Baranet

how does it stand next to eastman?
The Eastman is a great guitar, that Les Paul though was very very special
My first watch on this 59 replica. What's the retail on these high end replicas? It sounds every bit as good as the Custom Shop Les Pauls.
varies, i have seen good luthier built les pauls sell for as low as £2k, there are people buying them to force the market up. Don't play their game! The market for these exists because Gibson was not delivering what people wanted. Large companies always end up compromising something by the nature of at scale manufacturing.
HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want that
Awesome!
How much does it cost?
He usually charges about 12000 rupees
Mike, is this gentleman still building guitars? If so, how do I get in touch with him, please and thanks?
Bartlett guitars in Canada.
Check it out.

How much do they cost more or less?
Can I buy it please?
Love your shirt... :D you should say that more often... Haha :) you are the best
Haha.. big question is though, have you got one!!
No i haven’t :D
How can i?
Sylvain Martini link is in the description box buddy 😊👌
I just bought a replica from a great builder here in the States. I don't think I will every buy another Gibson again. My R8 is embarrassed buy my Replica.
Jon V Wow! I am curious!
Hey me too actually, I bought a 59 style guitar build by a former replica builder. I’m never buying Gibson again either.
That's the general view of most Replica buyers I've met . Gibson's materials are somewhat generic ( not helped by bans/availability of decent wood ) and the final price is too high , not helped by retailers and importers ( if you're overseas ) margins either . I just hate this thick , horrible nitro that gets used and looks way worse than a poly finished Epiphone .
@@npet6842 oh yeah man. I ended up buying another one. In retrospect I still spent a lot, but I also received a lot more “guitar”. I mean Gibson uses Brazilian Rosewood, and then they charge you $8000.00. I’d rather spend $8,000 for two replicas, with Brazilian, Hide glue, Wizz Premium PAFs, Honduran, Eastern Maple, Royalite Binding, Hide Glue, etc. My Builds are superior in every aspect.
@@jonv5489 You are absolutely right !
Who’s the luthier?
How much did that guitar cost you?🤯😱
Looks awesome!
Hi, Mike ! Do you have the luthiers contact info ?
You invented the Les Paul

Holy headstock veneer Batman!!
Hey dude ❤️ You videos.
Thank you! Means a lot!
Best 24 minutes in quarantine. Keep them coming
do you know the weight of this guitar?
All the specs I know I say in the video buddy
Two words: Kris Derrig.
It was a cool video, and it was a cool guitar. Funny how fakes are acceptable when used in a setting that promotes the company and generates cash flow. If IP was the real issue, there are thousands of videos of various other famous musicians that should be removed. All seems rather hypocritical to me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a massive grey area with many finding it either acceptable or not, the simple matter is, as Mike rightly states, it’s illegal. But the real hash is when they are passed of as real to unsuspecting buyers, and there was absolutely no attempt to do this in this video by Mike or the obviously very talented luthier that’s made the guitar. Full transparency, fair play.
Do you know what pickups were in it? And what was the gain pedal you used?
Pretty sure I say it in the video buddy. Mojos
@@MikeBradleyofficial oh sorry, that's my fault. I got too excited and skipped ahead to your playing lol. Thanks Mike
I'm totally OK with replicas as long as they are stamped at the least on the back of the headstock with "REPLICA", something to tell a future buyer what it really is. I could be completely honest with my sales but someone down the road will probably not be. Even more reason why I went with Heritage Guitars for my last purchase, I wanted another Les Paul but I was tired of rolling the dice with high price guitars I can't play before purchase and I just couldn't bring myself to buy a low price replica.
At least you are having fun!
I have a replica and a real one ... replica kills the real one. Sorry, but that's a fact. Cost me $200. Yup ... sorry to anyone that doesn't like or believe it.

lol, sure ya do.
It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled
I'll take "Things that never happened" for $1000, Alex.
Gibson make replicas of their own guitars. When does a replica stop being a replica and become a beautiful object in its own right?
CC #35 1959 Les Paul Vic DaPra "Gruhn Burst"
Anyone has information in the Luthier's name or contact? I am looking for a great handmade replica to buy, safe shipping to Germany should be possible.
Is there a great luthier in Germany creating such replicas?
Bartlett guitars in Canada.
Your welcome !
There is an excellent luthier in Peru called Sion Guitars, he uses actual mahogany from the 50s and brazilian rosewood, his guitars are truly amazing and the price is reasonable.
People can trash talk gibsons, but they do have that special ggrrrrowl!
Absolutely agree👍

"lovely tell your mum"
I suspect it was the Led Zeppelin riff that got it removed first time round
Hmm.. I doubt it, it would just of been a copyright claim. Fingers crossed this will be alright
Mike Bradley RUclips appear to be a little over zealous with copyright claims of late. Removing videos of original music, Dave Simpson had one removed because he used a popular chord sequence.
Stevie Taylor yeah I know some people like Dave have had a nightmare. Touch wood I haven’t been hot that hard.

@@MikeBradleyofficial mike you bone head you
The best face and sound of a 1959 Les Paul is Mick Taylor because he was truly concerned with having the golden tone. Page? Feh. Not good tone, ever.
It’s a nice guitar, but it doesn’t look very period accurate? Grover machine heads?
How can I find your Facebook???

.... that's not normal .... that you almost .... should go and return it and say ... there's something strange with this guitar !!!!! lolololol
AMAZING !!!!.... Rock MAchine ....!!!!
I think it's feedback related. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying the guitar doesn't ring or has no great sustain, but it's not possible physically for a string to vibrate this long.
The D string machine head is missing its mounting screw
Haha.. from a 24min video that’s the main thing you pick up on! 🤣
@@MikeBradleyofficial OH!... excuse me. Is that not enough? You know - to point out something that will stop the guitar from getting damaged. Or would Mickey have preferred an ego stroking comment instead? ffs.
I always prefer a good stroke!
This fake Gibson LP is no more fake than Gibson's '59 LP copies and tributes are fake '59s and cost more or less just as much as the fake in the video. The original builders, the original factory, the original tools, the original pup winding machines and so on -- none are original. The only is the logo and that they are made in America and many of the specs.
Sounds a bit tinny imo
The tuners are wrong.
