  • DJ Tigerstyle (Alvin Seechurn) throws down in an extended showcase at the 2004 ITF World Finals, Zapata Club, Stuttgart. In 2003, Seechurn became the first DJ to win 3 major world titles in one year-the ITF Advancement Class, the DMC Battle for World Supremacy, and the Allies All-Star Beatdown. Shout out to Jimmy Smithson for this exclusive!

Imagine the hours of practice that's gone into this. Tigerstyle is probably one of the most underrated scratch Djs of that generation. Incredible skills which still aren't matched by today's competition Djs. So fresh.

I remember, years ago, reading an interview with Tony Vegas, and he was talking about how Tigerstyles was putting all this effort into his sets, but just wasn't getting any work. It's sad how so few turntablists ever made any real long-term money out of the art. How many DJs can you name who have been able to make decent, long-term money out of pure turntablism sets? Q and Mike are the obvious big two. After them, there's Jazzy Jeff, Craze, A-Trak and Skrach Bastid, but they all spend a lot of time these days simply playing/mixing music nowadays, as do Prime Cuts and Tony Vegas over here in the UK. Oh, and how about Kid Koala? I saw a recent video of him performing, but the venue was tiny. The X-ecutioners now only seem to play at small venues as well..

J-Boogie Brown yeah like other art forms, theres very little return on investment unless you get extraordinarily lucky

One of the greatest showcases ever! I remember the original post of this because I downloaded it in case it ever got deleted - the original poster wrote something like, "Sorry for the shaky camera - I was low on beer", haha. Tigerstyle is so dope and one of the few to be equally good at juggling and scratching. I feel like him, Netik, Troubl and Rafik were the last kings of the battles that mattered [who were all good at both aspects as well], even though interest had already fallen off a bit post-Allies era.

😁🙏🏾 Ah yes DJ Tigerstyle, one of my favourites from Great britian. Grazie mille sir Mike for the sharing this. I observe this performance of Tigerstyle sporadically because another youtuber shared it ages ago, but the quality is not up the par. So grazie millie sir mike for sharing your version here with exellent quality !!!!!
