  • It's no wonder Xcaret was voted the best park in the world and received the Liseberg Applause Award. Presented every two years, the Award is considered the Oscar of theme parks and it is given to those that excel for creativity, originality and commercial success.
    Xcaret was honored for the experiences that it offers visitors, based on a celebration of Mexico’s natural and cultural heritage, its sustainability projects and its commitment to the local community.
    We absolutely loved it!
    With unparalleled access to the Caribbean Sea, a visit to the Xcaret eco-archaeological park is a must when visiting Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Snorkeling, ziplining, river rafting, exploring underwater cenotes and rivers, and trails through jungle ruins are all options within this natural adventure park.
    Pronounced "ish-ka-ret" it is located just a few minutes from Playa del Carmen with seemingly endless attractions, you'll need at least a full day to see the park and additional days to enjoy everything it has to offer.
    Enjoy and let us know where you're watching from!

    I went to Xel-Há which is a similar park to Xcaret, years ago with my girlfriend. It is in the same area on the coast of the Riviera Maya. It's been years so its probably changed. Wondering if you can do a comparison of the two parks. Hey , great info and video on Mexico as always!

    • @GrowingUpWithoutBorders
      @GrowingUpWithoutBorders  5 лет назад +1

      We did 3 of the Xcaret parks but Xel-Ha wasn't one of them so I can't compare. We did Xenses and Xplor which are both so different from one an other. Xcaret was a great overview and blend of many things but yet still very different from the others. Thanks for the feedback... appreciate it!

But I have not visited it since four or five years ago, probably, so there are some things I hadn't seen, like the chocolate and coconut workshops, for instance. The cacao seeds ( from wich the chocolate is made of) were so important for the ancient cultures of mexico that were even used as a currency to exchange products in pre hispanic times. When the spaniards arrived to the territories that know is Mexico they found that the native people used to drink a cacao based drink named chilate they added sugar to it and then chocolate was born
