Leiter’s analogy of a hitter looking for a window is perfect. Kershaw and Verlander are great examples. If you look at video of them and pause it at release point it’s fun to guess. I’ve seen so much of Kershaw the first time through the order you can read him like a book depending on what count hes in.
Really wish the Mariners didn’t completely dismantle their 2018 roster. Like, yeah, gotta cut expensive contracts to aging players like Canó after missing the playoff window, but Paxton seemed like the new ace the team could sign and build around. Now we have literally nothing. Again. What’s the point of trading for prospects and developing them if we’re just going to trade away anyone who gets good?
@@jefffinkbonner9551 The 2018 Mariner season was sure a fun one! The thing is though, we had the worst run differential in the league and basically over-performed our win-loss record due in part because Edwin Diaz was lights out that year. So, sadly, we had to blow it up again and start from scratch. BUT, I do really like what Dipotos doing by building the core around Marco and the young prospects like Kelenic, Rodriguez, and Lewis. Being a Mariner fan ain't easy! But when it all comes together and we make it back to the postseason, it will be oh so sweet :)
Yankees top 2 pitchers are clearly Severino and Paxton. Tanaka is #3. #4, well, I guess Happ with a short leash. We had another great pitcher, but unfortunately he was even too much of an asshole for pro sports. Good to see baseball take real action against domestic violence, even if it hurts my team. That is not nearly as important as his victim.
Don’t bash AL. He makes perfect sense. He was an awesome pitcher and he has the passion to go with it. Someone mentioned that he should be a pitching coach. I agreed. The curve ball will be slower than change ups. And sniper the fastball up in the zone after.
He's the one guy on the Yanks I'd be least worried about to go deep in a game. Relievers don't need to have that disparity in MPH since they often only go 1-2 innings. Looking at the relievers on the Yanks, Green's high fastball is so overwhelming, but now that he's getting over his 87mph slider he's taking it to a new level. Tampa looked so overmatched Tuesday night when he struck out 5 of 6. The one ball they put in play was a 97.1 MPH fastball up that was popped to the infield. They were so late on it all night. As good as Kahnle's been this year, he's probably the reliever most susceptible to getting hit if he's off. He reaches 98 with his fastball and has a change up that's about 91. That's not a great disparity, and also the change up doesn't change eye levels like the fastball curve or fastball slider combo.
So wait so you’re telling me that a low and away pitch is hard to hit? Well then why are guys like Kris Bryant and Cody Bellinger hitting bombs on those pitches? Anything besides juiced baseballs or is it just the fact that the balls are juiced?
Genuinely feel bad for Lucas lol. "Stop lucas stop, okay go back a smidge more"
This is a man that truly loves the game of baseball
Al should be a pitching coach he has so much love passion and knowledge for pitching. Coach our Yankee pitchers next year Al
John Millan I’m sick of Larry 😂😂
Dero: that’s a ball.
Leiter: no it’s not
😂😂
I love Leiter's enthusiasm! De Ro is fun to listen to also.
I always love the dynamic of a pitcher and a hitter both analyzing the same footage.
Am I the only one who got chills when De Ro said “Game 1 Aaron Boone goes like this” then hands Leiter the ball? Probably.
Watching a great lefty like leiter get so excited is good to see. Love of the game
Love watching leiter talk pitching.

I like how Al Leiter explained this difference in strategy with Paxton
Lieter gotta start/stop the clips himself😂
yeah i think he needs a touch screen or a remote
Exactly
Paxton never got this much love from the Network when he was a mariner ... :/
Now he is a Yankee.

God I love Al.
Love this duo

Amazing analysi!!

MLB Central has to give Al his own clicker. He could teach so much more..
Mark Derosa is the best MLB Network has. I know he wasn't a great player but he's hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. Deserves his own show.
so great! Thanks AL
Finally someone that talks more than DeRosa
Al’s signicher friase “yyyyeeeeesssss!!!!!”

Good breakdown
Still a free agent. I feel he can still make a big impact on any team.
I read "break down" and clicked assuming it was Jomboy
Al Leiter is entertaining
Wheres the Jack Flaherty breakdown?
What do the Yankees have to do with the AL Central?!
Get home field advantage
Wow I'm gunna go buy a baseball
Turn down the music. Al Leiter is much more interesting.
Al can easily use a bigger size pants
Obviously!
Now that's an analyst and I know nothing about baseball
Dang AL Leiter is mean😂
Leiter sounds so angry

he's being so mean to lucas
wasted curveball usage. in 1 solid start he throws no more than 9 curveballs. he should increase that to 15% and lower the others by 2.5%
first
Still pointless when you have a 3.88 ERA.
probably an astros fan
@@joelszn9819 nah bro I'm a Rays fan
Wow one of the 3 Rays fans!
total nonsense
Get this other bafoon off t.v.!!
Leiter's is incoherent and has trouble forming sentences.
