It's time for some West Coast cruising! We're heading to Los Angeles and/or Long Beach for our first ever adventures to the Mexican Riviera and beyond... for the second leg of this trip, it's Carnival Radiance (formerly Carnival Victory). We sailed from February 28, 2022 to March 4, 2022 on a 4-night itinerary with stops in Catalina Island and Ensenada... let's do this thing!

You are absolutely right about the FREE drink. I always thought it was restrictive to say last day after 5 on the Gold card. But we just turned Platinum and the time frame for FREE drink is even worse. I think they are hoping we will forget. At least on Gold we could get a drink on the way to dinner. If Carnival appreciates our loyalty they should let us get the FREE a drink whenever. We need to contact John Heald. Rant over. Thanks again for all your vlogs. So enjoyable and informative.
I agree with you Jay about the drink. I’m platinum on my next cruise (April on the Vista) and I don’t drink alcohol during breakfast. I usually only drink starting at dinner time.

Woohoo! I’ve been waiting for these videos because I met you two ok this cruise day on the Radiance! I was Lisa and we met at the Alchemy bar, probably when you ordered the drinks on this sea day! I wanted to chat but had already had a few too many sea day drinks 🤣 thank you for squatting down for a selfie with my short self! Hope to see y’all around another ship sometime!

Have you been on a two week cruise? Husband and I are going Jan. 14 - 28 , 2023. We are celebrating our 45th Ann.. Carnival has been good to us. So we will return to Carnival on the Carnival Dream. First time on her and for two weeks. We have no idea what it will be like. Have you been on the Carnival Dream.? I found your Video last year and hunt for your new ones every night. @@parodeejay odd I have a cruise booked on her for Florida next February and my PVP hasn’t officially announced the change in home ports to me yet. My PVP has been trying to get me in the Celebration, but that’s just a step too big for me and I’m not a fan of the lack of a real atrium.

For the Platinum free drink can you just get a shot of your favorite liquor, save it and mix it with juice or soda later in the day...OR ask for a cocktail with no ice, put it in your cabin fridge and add ice later in the day maybe???

We totally agree with you on the drink coupon. We did go to Guest Services on the Sunshine on the last day and they gave Bruce and one of our friends a coupon so that theycould go to the coffee shop and get a milkshake. I used mine for a latte in the MDR.
Question: so if you decide to roll your own suitcase out and not have them pick it up, what do you do with it during breakfast? Thanks!
We normally leave ours in the cabin, then go retrieve them after breakfast, making sure that we have enough time to do that before the "all clear" time to vacate the cabins, hah... but you can take them to breakfast and leave them near the door, I suppose.

My last cruise in November every single platinum perk was not given unless you specifically asked for it . The gift wasn’t left in your room you had to go to the photo store & request it ( a lanyard). Everything else water, drink, strawberries wasn’t offered or given unless you asked for it
Yes since cruising restarted that is how it has been. They should have sent information about that in an email. It's definitely different. They were trying to limit the amount of people that went into cabins I believe.

Mercy, hah… we kept one per cruise other than maybe three cruises where they were out of stock… probably about 35 trophies on the shelf so far!! :D
Absolutely agree with you about the drink coupon, it's always been the strangest thing.. you should be able to use it anywhere anytime..I guess carnival makes out on that one..

No, we pay for all our cruising. Dee is a travel agent and gets some deals, but not on all cruises. Our main thing is that we own our home, own our car, have no debt, and both own our own businesses that allow us to work from anywhere in the world that we can access the internet, including onboard a cruise ship. We’re quite fortunate to be doing what we do!! :D

Random update question. Do we have to get an alcoholic beverage? We don’t drink but we would love to have a specialty coffee if possible.
There are non-alcohol options, but for the platinum & diamond coupon, you are supposed to order it in the dining room during the breakfast or brunch service, so it would be any specialty coffee that they could provide from the dining room, I suppose. The gold coupon can be used at any venue, so I suspect that one would be easier to take to the actual coffeeshop. It's strange, ha ha...
I wish I could get just 1 (not 3) free drink vouchers for just simply talking to guest services…
