I wish they would go back to the rubber they used in the Kyrie 2. I still have those and the traction looks like it did day one. Also, I totally agree with you on leaving that heel zoom unit in. The Kyrie Low has heel and forefoot zoom (as far as I know) and that shoe retails for $110.... C'Mon Nike.
The traction on my kyries were not durable though. The rubber frayed within 4-5 months
@Justin Y. 2.0 my current shoe is also the KD 10 and the traction is fine on tht one, but i did get it with an xdr outsole
I have the Kyrie Lows and I can’t feel the damn cushion. :(

Yeah, rolled my ankle twice in one game, took a break to tight up the shoes and played "one more", havent played basketball for a month after that.
That "One More Game" ended up being the game i tore my ACL

@@CraftDPham what is a black top? Is it this squishy tennis court kinda or the one that is like indoor but outside?
@@whxmio black top is asphalt concrete. they're mostly found at playgrounds/schoolyards. if you're not playing in XDR sole shoes, they're get run down extremely quick.
@@CraftDPham what about the courts i mentioned? Is the outsole gonna last nearly like indoors or will wear out lil bit longer than concrete? Thanks very much for the answer!
@@whxmio the squishy tennis court are definitely more forgiving on outsoles in comparison to concrete. i always recommend XDR soles for any kind of outdoor balling. you're welcome, i try to help where i can.

I have a wide feet and a high arch.. lol this shoe was hella hard to put on but I disconnected the flywire from the flytrap on the 3rd one up and laced it through the hole on the flytrap down through the flywire on the lateral side and that worked perfectly for me. Did not feel anymore pain and still had good lock down! Thanks for the review!

That ankle story totally reminds me of what happened to me. You are totally right about rolling your ankle inward...it hurts, a lot. I've rolled both ankles outward so many times that when it happens, it only hurts momentarily, then I'm back playing. But inward, I was done for the day, and I believe I was out for about a week or so, limping around work. I can totally attest to that.
I noticed that on the tip of the outsole in the front, it says hungry on one foot and humble on the other foot, that's cool.
So much better than sole brothers they put the kyrie 5 on top 5 shoes where you can feel zoom the best
They're trash, they get soo much wrong constantly and constantly say grip is all about how much it squeaks

Awesome review. I saw these in stores and debated about trying them on. Glad I got to see this performance review to assert my decision. Hope you have a speedy recovery! I've suffered a bad ankle sprain but when basketball is a fiery passion it is hard to stay off the courts. Keep up the awesome reviews!

Kyrie 4 is still my go to for these modern basketball shoes. Il have to try this and Kd12 to see
I was worried about the fit too with that strap on the top of my foot. Yes I'm grateful they break in and a good installment in the line.
Pat Beverley knocked Dennis Smith tooth out the other night. Plays like that have me looking at other players closer to avoid reckless injuries. Sorry about the ankle.
They sound good. I don’t think they would work for me if the cushion isn’t that good . I’m a shorter player but rebound and jump a lot . The bottoms look 🔥 also.
I also had the kyrie 2s which had no cushion and played outside with them which ended up making my legs very sore but besides the no cushion I loved them because they were so durable for me.

Dope! Just got these as a "Christmas present" from my wife. Surprisingly, the flytrap wasn't hard for me to get past to slide my foot in, and I'm a widefooter.
These and the Kyrie 4’s are XDR on default here in the Philippines. Love my 5’s BTW.

inside ankle sprains are worse than the normal outside ones because your foot naturally cant bend that way. I fractured my right ankle like that 4 years ago and I was out a good 4-5 months - be careful with that kinda injury. If the inside of your ankle hurts - just take a break for a week - I know this is how you make a living but it's not worth getting hurt for months. Keep up the good work.
Damn dude! Sorry to hear about that ankle roll. Yeah I've had a severe ankle sprain a few times....but the most annoying one for me was spraining my foot. LOL!! I landed on someone's foot and somehow sprained my foot....not the ankle. Anyway, get better and heal up soon.

I’ve never hopped in the kyries and I usually go to the Kobe line to play in. Curry 4 was another shoe I enjoyed. I’m currently playing in my Jordan 11 low. What shoe would you compare this to as cushioning?

good review as always! in the blk mgc's and taco's my feet were being strangled no matter how loose i made the shoes first, and that's without ankle braces! with braces on, my toes from my instep down lost all circulation. i really wanted to love these but i couldn't swing it. i'm 1 for 5 in being able to play comfortably in kyries (4s are the only ones)

I'm liking mine but I'm still having a hard time sliding my feet in them after about a week, hopefully they break in a little more cause it's a hassle.

I use these outdoors and I have had absolutely no problems! the outsole seems durable... I really think it was a defect on your pair. But great review man!

Tama Verizqy I have been using them for about 4 months Prolly about 3-4 times a week! I only play outdoors and I keep switching shoes everyday but I usually wear my Kyrie 5's three to four times a week! Ik most reviewers have been saying it's not good but these really hold up well! No issues

Your injury happens in indoor soccer all the time when someone kicks the ball and you try to block it with the inside of your foot but it hits the tip
One thing I’ve had a hard time finding are sneakers with solid arch support or info about the shoes, high arches, etc...do you have any sources on that kind of thing, specific to hooping?
They try to make shoes as neutral as possible. Orthopedic inserts cater those with specific needs such as high arches.

I had the same injury a few years back. It really sucks and takes a while to heal since it's mostly soft tissue.

I returned my kd11 for these. Those dig into my Achilles too much and caused pain. The cushioning was better. But I like the fit of the kyries more

Just got my pair a few days ago and I'm using it now. Then i noticed that the logo and signature inside the shoes the one on the sole is nearly gone because of friction i think. I was wondering if you encounter this kind of issue with your pair.

How do I make the patrick kyire 5 better cause I've been playing with these shoes for 3 weeks and it picks up alot of dust on dusty courts.Apso it requires 5 to 8 wipes to get a good bite and traction stop but after a couple of times running up and down the court it picks up more dust.I really need your advise how to better the traction on dusty courts.

Anyone else experience a pinch at the arch of your foot while playing? I’m not sure if it’s just with the Taco’s but no matter how I lace them tight or loose, It feel like the middle of the shoe is digging into my foot in the right shoe only. My left shoe is perfectly fine and fits great. The traction sucks and is taking way too long to break in smh. Might return them now

young guru I heard the translucent might provide more grip from another channel (mind you those were knock offs), not sure how they perform for outdoor wear.
