It’s really cool to see Bento boxes, it amazes me how many different varieties of things there are!
They are beautifully made. And It's great that some of the bento boxes can be repurposed/reused. The eel is my favorite. They put a lot of care and love into their bento boxes..
Watching I was thinking exactly what you pointed out.....attention to detail and presentation was amazing. If it doesn't look good to the eye it probably won't taste good. Wish we in America had these standards and quality and availability! I can't wait to visit Japan and try these. Thanks Eric for sharing!

It always amazes me the variety of bentos you can get and it’s nice to see it has rice to make it a whole meal.

department stores in Japan seem unique to the US. Then you add Christmas time and it just seems next level. I think this is a very unique cool aspect of Japanese culture. That first box..... sign me up

we have a woman here who actually used to make us bento lunch boxes when we were small and going to school. she came from japan and married a man from the res here who was stationed there and came back with him. she always made us something different and they were quite enjoyable.

That first Bento Box looked the tastiest but the Tako Meshi Octopus Jar is the coolest one I think. You can even keep the Jar and have a collection for every year you get one, ha.
