Remember how quickly Prince William spoke when he was young? I needed subtitles back then! 😂 His Royal Highness gave this speech so well! A credit to the Royal Family, to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth!

@@robertlangley1664 l've been fortunate enough to meet him and (almost goddess-like beautiful in real life) Catherine. They were both so friendly, interested and genuine, radiating warmth of personality. I was interested to note even then (it was around 12 years ago) that William did have that "something extra" - l could almost sense all his predecessors around him - there was something so extraordinary to him, this "mantle of history " but he wore it well.
Funny how people have opinions of how wonderful someone is when they don't even know them. All they know is the hype the news tells them.

She had a French governess for all of her growing up years, which led to her complete fluency in French.

His grandparents both spoke fluent French. His grandfather lived in France until age eleven. The late Queen Elizabeth 2 was taught French from age two by her mother. She and her sister also had French teacher as they got older.

Special thanks to the Peepeekisis tribe that was there to represent all of the Canada First Nations who fought in the Canadian Army from D-Day on. A Cree man from Northern Ontario was in my father's Canadian Infantry regiment (Dad was the Sarge). They both survived.

I was brought to tears watching William speak to us all on this historical day. My father fought on this day at Normand June 6 1944 . He sent my sister a bday card (which we still have, ) asking her to keep this card forever as this day will go down as one of the greatest days in History. My father was not wrong. Many years after my sister celebrated her birthday on June 6 I too was born on this same day. ❤
The best part of this day for our family was, my dad came home from WWll and we will forever be grateful to him and the thousands of other soldiers who fought for our freedom.

Prince William's D-Day commorative speech, given with dignity & honor, was a heartfelt tribute to the Canadian troops. The fact that he spoke parts of it in French as well as English blended everyone into a brotherhood of countries. The Ministers, taking the time to be with and speak to the veterans who were actually there, displayed leadership at it's finest. Thank you all for your service. ❤
