YES! That's why I love Avatar so much. Starts with immediate bass slaps.
And still all bangers to this day. It's a shame Shay isn't more recognized in the music industry. He is definitely a top tier vocalist and musician. Lots of hard work out into all his music especially with him being a solo act mostly.

I feel like the amazing (and very present) basslines in this album is a metaphor to how out-shined Shayley was in OMM
+Treyven Robitaille Shay plays guitar in this band, rhythm i think - my bad if that's not what you meant
+Brandon Chambers i think he meant hearing shays influence in the basslines. he moved to bass in of mice and men when alan joined.
Maybe for bass but Shay's clean vocals in Of Mice and Men's 1st two albums made those albums absolutely stand out as some of the best Metalcore albums of its time.
This band is fucking beautiful. Reminds me of all the bands I fell in love with in high school, but with a much better twist. As if all of them progressed so much instrumentally. As a musician, this band is so refreshing. Definitely a new favorite. Congratulations, mates. Hope you all make it super far.

When I first heard Shayley sing "My Understandings" while he was formerly in Of Mice & Men, I instantly fell in love with the song and declared it as my favorite song of all time....Then I heard this song....

Not really. That intro groove is pretty common amongst "Djent" bands
I think there's the Djent style in there, I think they're definitely an influence, even though I don't think Dayshell is Prog metal, I wouldn't deny the similar sound. It's not entirely exact, but that is what makes Dayshell stand out doesn't it 😁 it's kinda its own thing you know?

The thing with this band is they (at least imo) don't sound like ANY BAND I've heard. It is so unique from their style to Shayley's voice to the lyrics is something no one has heard. This for me is the best band in Sumerian.

I was never particularly into Of Mice and Men, I liked some of what I'd heard form them but I didn't listen to them much and didn't follow any drama that happened. I just listened to this album on Sumerian's RUclips channel, and I really fucking like this dude's voice, and this band overall sounds great.
