Holy crap, I must have played Vengeance dozens of times and only just now noticed that Hearth-Vigil was teased right in its lore text! So cool how the designers have this worldbuilding in the background of everything that happens in SI.
Yeah, i like disease, and the spirit also kind of alterates it. Im not going for special combos, i am a casual player so i dont play high adversaries. The fact that he is one of the few spirits that benefits from blight is also very cool@@Infinity-0033
I love this game to death. And you and your videos is why this game never leave my table because each time a video like this comes out I think to myself, ah, I must have a go with this one tonight 😂 Keep the spirits up 😉🌟
I really enjoy Vengeance. It certainly has that BoDaN feeling where the invaders look like they will win but you manage to scrape a victory. Except you look back at the island, see the lone surviving Dahan, the blighted diseased hellscape you've crafted and wonder if it would be a nicer place if you'd let the invaders win. I've not played Vengeance a vast amount, but I don't think it's quite as bad progressing the tracks. You can usually G2 2-3 times within the first 4-6 turns, sometimes early you need to drop presence without disrupting the invaders to get your badlands/blight and disease token to later fight back with.
This one is easily in my top 3 favorites, if not my favorite spirit. I personally disagree that it's weak although it does benefit from a lot of things that players don't like having to plan around. I do wish fetid breath only cost 1 but the other disease cards in the game tend to have targeting restrictions so I'm guessing that is what made the design team choose to make breath cost 2. Still I've found my angry lizard to do just fine most games and does very well into Hapsburg cows which was an adversary my group initially struggled with.
I’ve played 2 games with Vengeance, and the most recent one is probably my most fun gameplay ever (I’ve play 55 times). This character is so good, it dances on the line between losing due to blight and high damage. Against a good adversary, you can have a super fun time. Gotta make sure you get disease and blight out there! So unique
This is the only spirit my group never plays. None of us can figure it out, and can barely win a game without an adversary with it! inteested to see how it's supposed to be played
They are a bit of an oddball spirit. You want to actually put your presence where the land will blight to get the diseases and ramp your damage up. Sometimes even putting down 2 presence in one land for the right innate (if that's the one you drafted cards to support) so that you can still target the land after it blights is necessary. Also the more spirits in the game that can handle keeping disease around for fear instead of removing them for build prevention the better as it gives you more options and more targets to destroy for further fear. Into some adversaries it's definitely a stressful balancing act.
I can see why you would rate them low, but if I remember right their matchup axis is very good, destroying Scotland and being an S8 into everything else. I’ve never seen spirit have a bad game, and it’s a top 5 spirit for me and partner to want to play. England 2 supported by Scotland 6 is the most difficult game we’ve played but we ran my partner on Vengenace and me playing on Ocean. I’m pretty sure we didn’t flip the blight card which probably took a good seed. Love the spirit, has some similarities to stone with more parity in the games.

This is my favourite spirit! I love his concept. I was so sad that he doesnt get a new aspect in NI
You like the disease tokens?
And what combos and strategies do you go for?

It’s a cool spirit, but when a teammate plays vengeance it means we’re going blighted island in a few turns. Which can be very annoying haha
The return of my favorite series! Great video, red!
there is a constant water/animal vs fire battle happening

Do you think an accessibility aspect for vengeance would be good?
