At 25:56, I begin talking about how Valkyrie is only the third woman protagonist in a video game I could think of who is never sexualized. But I have since realized that Valkyrie is (at least) the fourth, for I did not account for Sega's 1985 arcade game Ninja Princess

The gift of time and death given to immortal yet tortured humans is also part of creation myth in silent hill 3. I suppose it makes sense if your religious beliefs include death as part of transforming ones spirit.

Awesome to see this game being talked about in depth. I used to be something of a Valkyrie-head a few years back (have the Sandra game guidebook, Namco Anthology 2, Valkyrie Storybook, and this huge official artbook detailing the world of the series) but I haven't really touched upon the series since then. I think this video sparked an interest in the series again!

I too have that artbook. What it really makes me want is a huge, Zelda-style Valkyrie adventure that properly explores all the facets of the world

I wasn't familiar with this game at all - it actually looks kinda neat. Not sure if I'm up for the grind, but this seems to have some pretty neat ideas going for it in terms of design and presentation. Thank you for making this video ^_^
