What a pretty little island! 💚💚💚 I have always had a thing for little islands, ever since I was a little girl. When I was 13 I did a little overnight hike here in Canada with my dad and camped on a little island full of huckleberry bushes. I literally walked through trails of bushes loaded with those sweet little red berries. Never will I forget that wonderful experience with my dad. I can't believe he hauled a rubber dingy and a pump, plus the tent, our food and camp stove on that hike. He sure earned his nickname "Super Dad."

I am a Ct .born and raised guy ,I have been section hiking the AT for 2 years ,I will be going to Mammoth lakes Ca. area later this summer ,to hike around that area ,hopefully to do some of the PCT and John Muir Trail .I am following you PCT videos now .Ca. is awesome pretty .
I was made in a smalltown and one day, I'll pass on in a small town. btw., did you know Superman grew up in Smallville.lol Great video, I love the sounds of flowing water. great job in the hike Dixie. Hi Dixie! I am planning to section hike CT (and hopefully up into the first bit of MA) this summer, late June. I'm wondering how tough the terrain is so I can try and figure about how many miles I can expect to do a day. I obviously won't have trail legs, but I am a marathoner, so in reasonable shape. Any other CT tips? Thanks! I'm really enjoying your videos!!
I got ahead of her in VA and she caught up for a bit. We hung out some. Then when my dog passed away and I went home, I never caught up with her again. We talk on the phone fairly regularly now :)
I saw a comment from Dixie on another video, that Body Glide did "most of the trail" and was back in Mississippi. Dixie has a comment on this video about Rigga, it says...... "I got ahead of her in VA and she caught up for a bit. We hung out some. Then when my dog passed away and I went home, I never caught up with her again. We talk on the phone fairly regularly now :)"
In Au we call a privi ... a thunderbox (is privi short for provition?) Watching ur series makes me realise ... ive never seen so much water!!! id be bludging around liek a naked loony toon all the time, but i supose u cant film that.

Were you surprised at how rural Connecticut was? I grew in New York State, but I NEVER realized just how country it is.

Great Barrington is my hometown. My sisters house is only about 20 min off the trail.

Don't be surprised when you find the Pacific Crest Trail is a desert compared to the AT.
