Even though this is very old, I have never seen it before. I have never seen two fighters interview themselves and do it so engagingly!
I know im late on this but i have to agree with you i have never seen this ever, or like you said fighters interviewing each other.

Mentally, Ward won this sit-down battle! In fact, it was at this sit-down, I imagine, that Ward knew that he would beat Chad. There are more than a few telling responses that exposes Dawson's mental focus, or lack thereof!
One thing is for sure, Chad was never the same after this fight. I remember before this fight, Chad was on top of the world. He had people like Floyd Mayweather Jr. saying that he was the best fighter in the sport. The dude was awesome...

Great great matchUp. Like both of them and i give a small edge to Ward because of the weight but Chad has proven he is p4p one of the best so everything can happen in this fight. I AM HYPED UP!

Alot of ppl don't even know there were 4 big fights the night of ward/Dawson. Thanks to streaming, I was able to watch them all. Wish I had the time, a boxing analyst would be my dream job to pursue! This has been my year. I even called the controversial Bradley decision. Spot on
Ward won the mind game long before he won the fight. Look at Ward shoulders, leaned back. Look at Dawson's shoulders, to the front, like he's talking to his dad.

I think a face-to-face sit down between Bryant Gumbel and Bob Costas would have had more intensity than this. Maybe even one between AC Slater and Zach Morris as well. Or maybe even if they sat down Ralph Macchio and Jaden Smith and had them argue who was the better Karate Kid.

In case you didn't notice, this was NOT a complete face off. Kellerman wasn't there to ask questions and instigate an argument like he usually is. Also, they only had a couple of minutes, whereas face offs go on upwards of 10 and 15 minutes long. They're both ready to fight, they're both legitimate world class champions, they don't need to talk shit, why should they? It's about what happens in the ring. But, if I were to pick who "won" the face off, it was Ward. He definitely stared Chad down.
I was expecting one of them to say, "Isn't Max Kellerman supposed to be here?"
I must be thinking of something else then. They did have a piece just like this one without Kellerman, though. That being said, why does it matter whether or not Kellerman is there, the point of the face off is for the two of them to do just that "face off" not to have a mediator, that's not even important.
That's false, it's only if they dont re-hydrate properly that they have problems. Hes goin down ONE weight class not two and is confident when doing so. Ward isn't known for his power anyway this fight can still go 12 rounds especially if Dawson fights smart and uses his size and reach to his advantage.
This is why boxing is better than the UFC, HBO allows boxers to be them selves, this is an awesome segment... Dana White the President of the ufc is a control freak and tells fighters what to say, what Music they have to come out too, I love boxing, this is my passion.

Don't you find it odd Jacob Hall, the Commissioner of Indiana Boxing said both RJJ and Rich Hall test positive yet RJJ's only punisment was to send $250 to Amateur Boxing Clubs in Indianapolis.Murad Muhammad said Roy Jones tested positive for some (nasal decongestant). It is a farce.

Pernell Whitaker tested for cocaine late in his career he developed an addiction, hardly steroids.
What you can argue is that all these guys were cleared for so many fights before they got caught. Roy never got "caught" period. Interestingly they said he used a supplement called ripped fuel which was legal, more importantly Roy Jones demanded the test again and it came back negative hence why there is no mark on his record.
If Manny is on PED's its only a matter of time innocent till proven.

I do actuall think the fight will be boing, i think ward might score a knockdown, since chad does leave himself vulnerable sometimes and he will be weight drained. plus i think there will be headbutts and Dawson will be cut since Hopkins cut him over both eyes last fight and pascal gave him a bad cutt which stopped that fight. we all know about the kesseler ward fight even though ward was throughly beaten his ass.
@blacktee31 just watch and see what happens. All I ask is you give me my props for calling it when ward knocks him out. I know Ward is not a Power Puncher by any means, but unless Dawson goes into survival mode in the late rounds he will not make to the end on his feet. His weight will play a major role in this fight!

You have to give both of these guys credit. They really have respect for each other. Not once did they insult each other like mayweather does to all of his opponents. That's how real boxing is suppose to be, all about respect. Great fighters show how good they are in the ring, NOT by bragging about it.
Also i agree with the trainers would have made it more interesting, i think their promoters would have had a better conversation piece. HBO this was a big fail their 24/7 is already boring. if u want to see drama and intensity u should watch the Martinez vs Chaves Jr faceoff. I think thats the best faceoff i have seen yet and i have watched all of them.
RJJ tested positive for steroids 5 - 6 times above an accepted level when tested against Rich Hall who was 10 times above an accepted level. Ripped Fuel may not have been the cause even though it contained steroids. RJJ was 'NEVER' fined or suspened. RJJ was a protected fighter. Saying it was a supplement sounds better doesn't it.
bad chad had the same fate and the great roy jones jr, but just in reverse fashion. roy jones went up to hvy wt and was never the same and started losing when he came back down to his normal wt. chad went down to fight s.o.g. and I don't know why, but afterwards he started losing. knockout nasty by Adonis Stevenson and losing again after that. bad choices.

Haha, man this seemed force. Im really looking forward to this one, but I don't understand why they have to do this segment. Have Kellerman stand in the middle and leave it at that. Besides that, this was not necessary.
