Gday Wayne, I remember going to these caves in 1969 as a ten year old. We were living in Malaca at the time ( a place you should visit) and on a school adventure. It was in the middle of nowhere back then and the only thing there were the concrete stairs, timber planks on mud with no lights and sinkholes everywhere in the cave. If you went in too deep you probably wouldn’t make it back out alive, how it has changed. Cheers mate.
Impressive cave@Brighton price-4free! Plenty of Chinese-mandarin heard here, like Pattaya Pier all following the tour guide with the little flag.Nice video thanks mate .
I went their about years ago to get my Non-B visa. It must have been the perfect time. The sun was shining down through the cave. It was awesome. Cheers
I knew a few Thai ladies who "worked" in KL doing "massage". One of them worked one month solid and as many customers in one day as possible then came back to BKK to relax lol.
I did combine the Batu Cave with the Forest Research Institute jungle walk, near Kuala Lumpur. Both are close together. The jungle walk has a long tree top canopy walk included. At the end of the walk you come to a river and people just sit in the river with all their clothes on to cool down. When I arrived at the station, I was wondering why I see wet people although it did not rain. At the end I knew it and I loved it. You can get there by bus or by train. in 2012 the Batu cave did not have so many visitors as today, but already as many monkeys as today.
I’m Malaysian married to Englishman. Here in Hertfordshire for 25 years! You made me laugh out loud Wayne …. Love all your videos … keep up the good work mate!
Looks like you picked the best time of day to go, much cooler and less tourists bumping around. The day we went they had a massive religious festival Thaipusam happening and it was absolutely packed sardine style. Just swarms of people packed in the heat was pretty intense. 🙈
Wayne, if you want some authentic and delicious South Indian food vegetarian go the restaurant you walked past outside of your hotel. "Saravana Bhavan". Green logo. Many locations around the world and delicous. Go for the rava masala dosa or anything !! South indian style filter coffee also really good!
there are better. Shame Wayne didn't get lunch at one of the places at the foot of the caves: they're excellent, almost no Europeans there, but plenty of Indian families.
I am guessing the litter dropped is because there are no bins to put litter in . a couple of solutions put in litter bins or charge everyone a quid to enter and employ a dozen cleaners
I went to the Batu caves back in 2009 and I didn’t think much of it. It looks spectacular. But I found the Jenolan caves west of Sydney are way better in my opinion.
a tad late, but if i could just chip in for some comments on cleanliness there :- 1) i think its run by some Hindu Religious Board, so yeah, its not so much profit oriented, and not everything is on dollar & cent basis (including hiring the best cleaning & management vendors) 2) a Hindu temple (kind of) accepts all sorts of animal kingdom (as part of its life cycle philosophy/doctrine), so keeping the compound thrash-free is almost unsurmountable

Hopefully one day 👍
Excellent day out and I would say well worth the visit. Very wary of those monkeys for sure. Great camera work mate. Thanks for sharing. 🤩

It does look good when the sun is shining down. It was a good place to visit.
Excellent Vlog Wayne, well worth the climb I reckon.
Cheers David, it was worth it for sure. Can't grumble.
Going in the coach for ladies only! 😂 You sneaky Wayne! I know what you're doing, haha. 22:26
Yep, I had to move once I seen it 😂
I knew a few Thai ladies who "worked" in KL doing "massage". One of them worked one month solid and as many customers in one day as possible then came back to BKK to relax lol.
Yeah I can imagine it would be like that. Probably had a waiting list in Malaysia.
Lmao 😂

Nice one Bruno, a few people have mentioned how different the Batu Caves looked a few years ago.
Glad you enjoyed it Wayne. As others have said go to Malaca
Cheers buddy 👍

Looks like you picked the best time of day to go, much cooler and less tourists bumping around. The day we went they had a massive religious festival Thaipusam happening and it was absolutely packed sardine style. Just swarms of people packed in the heat was pretty intense. 🙈
I’m glad I went in the morning, it would have been rammed in the afternoon.
I'd have to see that cave, but Id have to find when it is least busy, too crowded to enjoy it for me, anyway.
Really early morning would be the best time, I wish I set of a couple hours earlier.

I’ve been eating in those restaurants all week buddy. Great food 👍

Good morning 🌅
NICE! good to see you went =)
Cheers mate 👍

Yes John, I actually think they should charge a small fee for this place.
I went to the Batu caves back in 2009 and I didn’t think much of it. It looks spectacular. But I found the Jenolan caves west of Sydney are way better in my opinion.
I agree, I didn't think much of Batu.
Good on ya mate.
Nice one John 👍
Looks good, did you buy your little statue of the petronas towers ?
No mate, I bought a 7up instead 👍
Good 👍
Thanks 🙏
defineatley worth the climb!
Yes, was worth looking at. Can't grumble for free.
The best Ramly Burger is in Jalan Alor, methinks.
I'll be in Jalan Alor soon.
LOL
I think you were taking it easy on the stairs to have a right old perve 😂
Would I do a thing like that 😃
@@WalkAboutWayne classic 😂
What kind of camera are you using? Watching from Cebu Philippines
I use a GoPro 👍. Nice, hope all is well in The Philippines 🇵🇭
@@WalkAboutWayne TY
Wasnt too bad, was way too hot when we visited.
It was ok for me, nothing special but worth it.
@@WalkAboutWayne we had the same thoughts, cave was nice but the temples themselves in there were nothing amazing to us but maybe we are being picky.
Don't get that dreaded big gut my friend. 🤣🤣
Too late buddy 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne 😂😂
Omg Malaysia is the shopping paradise for Singaporeans 😂
Nice 👍
It is free??
Yes free
The giant statue does it for me -
Luv it
Very good train system
Thanks Wayne 😃✔️👌👋👍🙏
Yes mate, the statue gives it that wow factor 👍
Those steps about killed me. Kind of dirty there though. But really a cool place
It could have been cleaned up more, yes. It was ok, nothing special.

Nice one! It was a nice place but I think it could be a little better.
Where’s the lift? lol
🤣 Yes I needed one.
Seen one temple seen them all couldn’t think of anything worse to do with my time
This is a Cave but I agree with what your saying mate 👍
Yeah. LOL
Wow, talk about misunderstanding a place completely
Nope , I got this one spot on 👌
Overhyped.
I hear you mate.
Plenty of rats with wings outside the caves Wayne 😂.
To many flying rats for my liking mate 😂
