This one is most impressive. Not exactly radical when it comes to design, it is the execution where it excels. Amazing lume, regulated Swiss auto, coated titanium, ultra light, comfortable, legible, what is not to like? Well, the branding. But apart from that, what's not to like? Cheers, Jody

I got the green colorway Bunker from SWC for review and managed to drop it face down on the floor. The crystal shattered and I was super scared about telling the guys I broke their watch... They were super cool about it and even offered to send me another one in it's place to do the review with.
Besides the Bunker being a truly awesome field watch, SWC is a brand you can put your trust in and know you're going to get incredible customer service.

Maybe the dog wasn't resistant to 100m, but it was probably more trustworthy than this review.

These look absolutely incredible. I reviewed their Sports model and the quality was insane. These guys don't get the love they deserve.

I have the Bunker and I can easily say it's one of my favorite automatic watches. It's as light as my G-Shocks, but even more comfortable.
I’d like to take a tiny bit credit for this review since I specifically mentioned this watch on your last episode of lume wars. Just an amazing piece and, with the specs, probably the best value I’ve ever come across. The piece I own will forever be a part of my collection.
I have the Blue version of this watch on one of their blue additional straps and it so light I forget it’s on my wrist. It has become my daily wear. Great Company.
Like it, but I'd like a 36-38mm version even more!
Hi have their first gen of the SWC Bunker (cream dial) and absolutely LOVE IT! Really, really light, mostly with the fabric strap.
But it also came with a leather strap that is a perfect fit and gives the watch a great day-to-day look.

The brown is stunning and perfect for a comfortable cool summer evening or fall day outfit involving a casual sportcoat. Brown is a neglected color nowadays.
X-1 Lume has to be seen in person to believed. It's truly amazing stuff. Considering the Titanium construction, regulated movement and the X-1 Lume, it's totally worth the price and is a greater value than the competition mentioned.
I got on the mailing list for this after watching your video. When I got the notification, I ordered one right up in the grey/green colorway, and patiently waited for my watch to come in.
Well, it was worth the wait. Your review was spot on and this has soon become one of my most worn watches. It's light and comfortable on the leather strap, the crystal is beautiful with that anti reflective coating, the lume is just amazing and lasts as long as it's needed. I wear this to bed and have no trouble reading it if and when I wake up. And it just oozes quality. I feel my money was well spent.
Only difference of opinion was the fabric strap. I just really like the leather better.
Which leads me to one other thing. I received an email about a titanium bracelet they were going to release for the Bunker, so I ordered that right away as well. It came in the other day and it is a perfect compliment to the watch. Makes an already great watch, that much better.

Sweet watch. Just ordered one because I’ve been looking for this exact watch. Totally agree on the logo and print type. It could have been a grand slam...instead of a 2 run homer. But still awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Overall there's not much to complain about this watch. It's handsome and well specced. There are some nice colour option and interesting straps. And the fact that it features a scratch resistant coating is great! It's not even overpriced. For me the 41 mm size is the only real downside. If it was a 38 or 39 it would be a real contender for me.
I've got one - amazing watch, the velcro straps are so good I ordered 3 more.

I understand it is actually BLW10 Grade X1 lume they use. Also, 8 layers AR under the sapphire and 8 on top, with extra sapphire coating on very top. Titanium has a 1000V hardness. I have the blue/grey with orange accents. After 2 weeks on the wrist average daily accuracy is +/-0 sec/day. SUPERB watch!
Good choice with the green - somehow the dial has a bit more punch viewed on the screen. Must be even nicer with the naked eye.
I think the cream dial on their website is a stunner tbh
Khaki Killer , would prefer a slightly larger crown but other than that this is almost the perfect field watch
I personally do not find the logo terrible, but the font is not exciting ... I bought their SWC Diver MKII, significantly improved from the first release. Fantastic, magnetic watch, I never get tired of looking at it. And it travels at around -2 seconds a day! Bracelet among the best you can imagine. And I think I will soon take this magnificent Bunker too
I have a Hamilton khaki field automatic but have to say if I actually had to use a watch as a field watch the swc looks a lot more practical if a bit on the ugly sister side. You won me over on this one.
There’s a lot to like there. If I didn’t already have a khaki handwound then I’d be very tempted. With that lume and anti-reflection, I’m still kind of tempted.
I'm patiently waiting for the bracelet version to be released later this summer to pick one of these up. They're supposed to be releasing those amazing Velcro straps in 20mm as well sometime soon.
By the numbers, this is a pretty cool watch. 41mm is right in the middle, though I tend to go bigger (Glycine CS 46 currently on my cartoonishly huge wrist). 55g is amazing. And extra, extra layers of goodness (lume, AR). Great review.
I bought one when they first came out, they sell them out fast, and have had to restock several times over the past 8 or so months. I have one of their divers, had problems, called them up, they emailed me a shipping label, sent it in a few weeks later returned fixed. When you call them, you speak to the owner or his son as in my case, they back their customers and will talk about their company and plans. Every sale gets a handwritten thank you note, and while their is no account they know and respect you're a return customer. I agree with you Jody and is a common complaint for other brands and other reviewers, use the logo or brand name but not both. One other improvement and not a big deal, the day should be in white and the background either black or matching the color., but that is a minor thing, and most brands even high end luxury watches do it.
Honestly, as I'm watching the review, I would have been surprised if it were under $500. $430 is great value tbh for something as well built (overbuilt even?) as that seems.
The bunker cant be beat! I am looking for my second bunker, when the new colorways get released. I was hoping to have a loot at the brown dial with the C3X1. Thanks for the review!

Amazing watch. Was on a waitlist since October and just finally got the email for pre-order of this next batch. Was advised the Bunker Black color way will be a tad different and only for this batch. Makes me actually happy bc might make it more wanted down the way if its the only version with a different color! Either way so excited to get this. 20 layers of lume 😮 That is impressive. The branding text is too large in my opinion. I think they should have just stuck with the logo only.
I was a little confused by the velcro strap too, when I reviewed their SWC Sport a while back. They are very comfortable though.
That lume shot should have come with a warning! I'll be seeing those markers and numbers every time I blink for the next hour or so!

I really like the dial.. The AR is brilliant. For really though field watches, I tend to go for a citizen eco watche. To me, they make the best value watches these days, even automatic ones in the $500 range. This is a nice watch. I like tool watches.

I received my Bunker in blue/grey about two weeks ago. That dial is just stunning under the sapphire. I do find some of the edges a little sharp around the plugs and the underside of the case but ultimately I just love the watch.
Mine hasn't come off my wrist in two weeks and has gained about three seconds in that entire time!!!!

All this talk about the "cluttered" dial. How fast we forget the "god" of all watches-the Submariner has 7 lines (including the logo) of script on the dial. This watch has 3! As for the looks of the logo, that is a matter not only of taste but of what importance it is to the wearer. There is no such thing as the perfect watch and we will either buy it because it hits the mark with us or we will pass and move on to the next "great" watch. Personally, I like this watch a lot. Great job Jody!!!
People are just sheep to the brand, if it didn't have the logo it'd be nothing special
I had a sub for 20 years. Never even noticed the lettering because it was tiny tasteful elegant and reaffirmed quality. This branding IMHO is large intrusive poorly executed and conveys no positive information.
For me it's the width of the lettering, as it means it is blocked out much more, would have been better with just SWC initials instead
I call out rolex on their "pamphlet" design as well.
But just because someone makes poor design choices, doesn't mean it should become a standard.
This dial just doesn't look very appealing, it looks like something thrown together in 5 minutes by one of those aliexpress brands.
I would love a sub, and you're correct, also Rolex puts it's name and logo on their watches. Something I've complained and many others have on other brands. Omega does the same.

I like the logo, it is distinct. After a few watch editions, I would drop the word brand.

Yes. Excellent review for an excellent watch. I'm wearing my Citizen Eco-Drive "Chandler". I bought it in August of 2008 (Amazon lets you look back) and it was put in a box in a closet until this week. I forgot I bought it. Charging it in the sun and hoping for miracles. But, love this watch in this review. Hmmmm....

I do understand why they didn't sell out... This dial is very busy, far from clean and crisp look of a field watch.
Excellent specs, but I would not buy it.
When they first came out they sold out in days, not sure about the re-stocks.
I haven't been leaning forward in the straps to acquire another watch recently and have never had a burning desire to add a field watch either. But this piece really ticks the boxes and isn't too pricey for the attention to detail and quality it offers. I'm with you regarding the branding; I don't know the significance of the logo but it would look fine by itself. They could have omitted the text below it and that would have given the face some balance. Thanks Jody!

Great review, I love the "numbers" you mentioned and I totally agree with your one criticism. It was the same thought I had the first time I laid eyes on the watch. To me if they'd ditch the date and the name it would be the perfect field watch. Once it's back in stock I may buy one anyway.
Spot on review as usual and compelling watch, though I personally would weight this up against the RZE Resolute. They also offer a titanium bracelet.
Can't take mine off the wrist ! It is super light , comfortable and always legible day or night . Perfect tool

Great specs, but just feels like it lacks a little something in regards to the dial for me. I 100% agree with your assessment of the logo / font used.
10:45 Dude, the logo is a stylized watch. The cross hairs are hands, the straight lines on the top and bottom are the lugs, and the oval is the face.

Nice enough and awesome lume, but for the money I'd go for the Khaki mechanical or Orient Defender plus plenty of change left for straps.
If they did it in 316 and dropped the price it might be a contender, but as is, there are more viable options out there.

It's almost a prefect automatic field watch, the only two thing stop me buying will be the size and the logo (personally I think it's kind ugly). But still good enough to added to my consider to buy list.
Steeldive SD1940 type A or B…..$90, NH35a, sapphire crystal, 39mm, 200m water resistant, solid endlink, solid bracelet, all brush 316L stainless steel finishes …only 11.5mm thick….not Swiss made but I could buy all 3 colours of the SD1940 plus more for that Swiss watch company one……absolutely nonsense to pay $430 for this socall Swiss field watch! For the Hamilton khaki king…I will and did own one, not a never heard of Swiss watch company try to grab your money just because they call themselves “Swiss watch company!” I bet they made those watches in China, too anyway!
@@Jikaninja its titanium not steel, and its sellita not nh35. and if anything steeldive is made in china thats why the price is low. so you are paying your money to people who pay their workers very low.
i was in the same market as you and Jiasun....none of the titan watches with scratch coating are for this price, especially not for 28800hz. so if you want 28800 scratch resistant and hypoallergenic thats the lowest price you will find. there is competition but they all offer nh35. some with nh35 are even 10 or 11mm thick. but its still nh35 and steel. and also its not 200m yes, but its not a dive watch. if you are looking for a dive watch, this is not it...
yeah i dont like the logo either, still bought it. hopefully it wont be annoying. there is resolute but also logo is childish, im waiting for their next watch witch will have miyota in it with magnetic protection

And how many parts inside that socall Swiss Watch Company watch are actually made in Switzerland? Do you know? Hey, but if ppl love and want to be a sucker for the sake of the name of” Swiss made” who am I to judge!
@@Jikaninja titanium is hypoalergen and coating is not the same as seikos. also ceramic watches are hypoalergenic. and coating do help, im not sure why are you so mad but calm down... there is something for everyone, so buy what you want or need. but dont compare apples to cabbage. there is a reason its not the same and the price is different. and yeah check the difference between chinese copy movement and swiss movement and you can tell the difference. well if you open up a watch you can check if there is a difference. would you sell something under name of swiss and then put chinese parts? people can check and tell whats what, those companies are fast dead. now calm down, have your opinion but dont get mad about it if people have different ones :D if you dont like the company than dont buy from them, just dont put them down without any backup. i stopped buying watches from aliexpress because everytime there is something wrong and you have to wait for 3months to get it. also if you dont want to service the watch so often, then buy quartz or have a workhorse like amphibia vostok. just enjoy it and buy whatever you need or want, dont get mad ;)
Appreciate the review. I do wish you would comment on the crown action of the watches you review. After all, crown action is a very significant aspect of watch ownership. It's not just about looks and specs, but also feel.

People complaining about the looks - different strokes I guess. I think it looks pretty damn nice. Meh for the logo, but the look and legibility of those indices is great, and the fact that there’s proper lume - something I need and always stops me from investing in most “field” style watches - just puts it over the edge.
I have the blue/grey version and it's awesome for the money. But I don't like the logo at all.
I really would like these to come in some fun color combinations. Would make for a tough and reliable watch for casual or more intense adventures.
Hi Jody.. nice review! Had to put my two cents in.. I purchased the first release of the Bunker and have had zero issues with it. I had questions about the original Velcro straps being a bit small for my hands, and they were fantastic to work with.
And this is a point of concern for me when I purchase anything, be it a car, watch, or shoes… who do I call if I have an issue with the product? Swatch ( Hamilton)? Citizen? Good luck!
SWC is accessible and great to deal with, which is worth a lot!

SWC make incredible watches for the price. I have the MKII Diver and it is one of my favorite pieces. They are well worth the money.
Such a comprehensive offering. I just wish I liked the dial design better. Plus I already own a limited edition Boldr Venture and am pretty tickled with it for the time being.

2-4-6-8-10-12 is one of my favorite dials very fast to read. I wish they were more common on modern watches. The second sweep hand is absolutely perfect bright paint on the tip and lume on the counterbalance. Too bad the price is higher than my Hamilton Khaki, Orient should do something like this in brushed stainless steel for about $150 since they lack a decent field watch.

The only thing I’m not that into is the titanium case. I know I might need to turn in my watch enthusiast card but I’m just not that into titanium or bronze cases 🤷♂️ I know it’s totally boring but stainless steel is fine by me.

Agreed. Logo and company name are messing up what could be a very clean dial.
You might think there is faults with it till you get it. But it’s the closest to a perfect watch as you can get.

Strikingly similar shades of Seiko SARG011 in this model (as far as the dial anyway).
However, I've recently picked one up, and it's a cracking good watch!
I may be wrong but I think that the titanium case has been nitride case hardened, this will not only increase the surface hardness but also improve wear resistance (mechanical and chemical wear that is), I think it looks like tremendous value for money all round.
I really like the honesty with the reviews Jody. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. This would be a no brainer if it was cheaper (not saying it’s unfairly priced) but at that price point there’s a lot of options and I feel that you have to love it?
Still looking for a field watch with bold characters as this one ( or those giant Orient and Seiko field models ) in a much smaller size.
50 grams is really light for a automatic. I own a couple of full titanium quartz models and those are already over 55 grams

Totally agree with you on the whole review. SWC would have better as a logo rather than Swiss Watch Company and the iffy logo. All that said...a cracking watch!
