This is another turning point for the hobby after the qk/zoom/jris hype, honestly baffling that 2 years ago there were hardly any boards that could even be remotely compared to this at such a price range

I appreciate the support. Getting it in person hits diff. When I just saw pictures I was confused.. but I’m kinda a believer now
only got into custom recently, since TKL has been my main layout for the past 15 years, and i rarely use FR, this is kinda the prefect choice for me to start off the hobby. thank TKD!
same as well, when my irl job now only relied on several F key, I change to this layout with VIA support where I could lay out the needed f row in fn+arrow keys
Thanks for addressing the vendor issues going on right now. Group buys is definitely seen as risky especially for newcomers. It makes sense that this sort of business model is still necessary for the time being, considering how the hobby is still pretty niche relative to other scenes. I think the only way to not make such a business model necessary anymore is when the hobby eventually gets popular enough to the point that it becomes profitable regardless of hitting MOQ or not. Hopefully someday it will get to that point.

All jokes aside the Cycle 7 is looking very promising. Very innovative at this price point.
Ughh I can’t decide between this or the envoy, only thing holding me back from envoy is the higher price and what’s holding me back from the cycle is the 50 dollar shipping to the U.S.
I'd say get the Envoy since it's instock and ready to ship, while this is in Groupbuy and will not deliver until Dec this year

but when i edit videos or need to take screenshots its harder for me to not have arrow keys and the other stuff

Not a fan of the layout since I use f keys (also I like putting novelties and artisans up there), but it looks very nice.

what an oddball layout, it ain't really space saving where it matters and ust going tkl would've made more sense but i can't deny it do be lookin hella clean......as for the group buy thing, i understand really small companies going that route because they simply can't finance the project but bigger players in the custom keyboard space *cough* meletrix......should start moving away from that because they'll never gain mainstream success with that system

Man I have said that I am actively against this layout before just from a functionality to desk space perspective, but the sound, price point, and that gorgeous red color almost are enough to sway me anyway!! I feel like seeing a bright red is so rare on keyboards, and it makes me so happy to see this offerered.
for me vertical desk space is the most important, so FRL is perfect
@@involuntarysoul3867 Totally valid, everybody's setup is different. For me, I'm generally not concerned about vertical space, I just want to minimize space between my left and right arm when using the mouse.

As someone who has been in the hobby coming up on 4 years i keep having an internal fight with buying this board. Is it worth it for a veteran in the hobby? I dont have that specific layout but I do have a matrix navi on order.
It is unique due to new mounting styles and case assembly. And a cool layout. Cheap enough for a fun board.

for the price, it will recieve the love/hate praise that the qk did in it's time. I love the sound profile with the alu, but hate that the shift keys sound so ..."squishy" i don't think i have ever used that word to describe a keyboard before. I think that I will be picking one of these up for a gifting board or a loaner board.

is it 1000 hz polling rate and is there bad latency
Polling rate doesnt really matter on keyboards but it should be 1kHz. Latency on wired also almost doesnt matter and shouldnt be an issue.

With that you get a GB that won’t miss MOQ, tons of customization, and faster fulfillment since it’s going straight to you rather than China factory > US vendor by ship > QC > local shipping.

I found a mode envoy w alu plate for 180 w/o shipping, and someone who will sell me their cycle 7 order when it ships, and that is 242$. First board btw, which deal/keeb for the prices above would you reccomend/buy if you could
@@rehanriyaz2501 Go for the envoy then. Its really clean looking but the sound isnt amazing (inconsistent, but alphas are very good) but for that price its a pretty good deal.

@@AndyVNguyen I think it’s what the hobby needs. Something refreshing and different at a great price after what feels like a stagnation in terms of designing new products.
I got all my end game layout. Jane TKL, 910 65%, Unikorn 60%, and this FRL in Jasper Green. Can't wait for it to be delivered soooooon!!
Really cool board, but that layout is just not it for me. Always glad to see more studios putting out affordable stuff though, so I hope to see TKD pop off!

I’d take it over envoy. The standoffs on envoy make it kinda suck. Those keys sound hella weird. But the envoy has a more “normal” layout

Nearly cancelled my Monsgeek order when RUclipsr’s started talking about this, but I’m too married to F keys for gaming and productivity and rage quiting to move away from it.
If you need f keys you need f keys so it makes sense
