Still loving the outdoor environments in all your vids! Very refreshing and a lot more interesting to watch than the standard desk cam, imo. Great review as always. Love hearing other people's insights to the hobby.
Absolutely a good choice in middle entry lvl and luxury lvl Mechanical Keyboard. Look minimal and clean, this board has enough thing i need. Thank Andy so much!
It was between this and the Neo Element G67 for me. I went with the G67 Plus with the brass bottom (because I apparently don't care about money). I really love the design on both boards, but decided on the G67 because I like the minimal design a bit more. Really good to see so many options available from Mode though.
I have also been tossing up between these two keyboards. Ended up going for the G67 Plus as well, but mostly because the "Dewalt yellow" color option which will look pretty nice with the GMK Lux set that I ordered over a year ago

@@AndyVNguyen from some vids I’ve seen they’re maybe a little for pingy? I’m not sure, I might pickup a pom plate like you said and just feel it out because I did also get plate foam
I think it's crazy they did 1 gb by December then they are already going to stop making them. The main reason we buy this is for the customization now we hear they are limiting manufacturing like what a freaking croc.
to be honest, if you just want all mirror polished then you should wait for the KBD67 v3 mirror polished case. it is a lot cheaper and affordable. If you choose all mirror polished in the mode 65 it is almost twice as expensive as the base model.
I plan on getting this built with hyperglide blacks and was wondering which plate and mounting style would compliment the hyperglide blacks the most. What do you think?
Hey Andy, have you heard of the Chaos65? I feel like it isn’t as well known as the mode 65 despite both being available right now as GB. I personally think it looks really clean and from an aesthetic view, I actually prefer it over the mode.
I know I'm a bit late to this video but since Mode extended the buying period to July 2022, I'm looking to order it and wanted to ask your opinion on full plate vs half plate for the soldered PCB?
somehow, you have many of same opinions with me (or is it obvious in the community?) like jwk on fr4 plate, tactile on stiff plate, buy both hotswap and soldered if it available.
Got mine yesterday. Broke the solder on the jst connector on the daughter board because I decided vodka was necessary before starting. Sigh lol. Ordered 3 more 🤣
Bro, so informative. You the best.. Especially liked how you quickly went over the relationship between particular switches and plate material. I've never used anything but PC plate so far, so I went ham on all the mode 65 plates to go exploring (except brass - 'mirror' plate would just be brass right?). Man.. so keen for December :')
I’ve went with Boba U4 (non T) lubed with a silent tactile stem; what would you recommand ? I ordered a Brass Bottom & Multicolor Ti backpiece with a brass plate 😅
Have you seen the mirror silver bottom on Mode’s discord? It looks great. I settled on black case with black mirror and silver mirror backplates. However I am thinking about adding that silver mirror bottom to my order. What do you think will sound nicer with Boba U4T, FR4, GMK WoB? alloy bottom or silver mirror with silicone dampener? I know sound is personal but to put it in perspective I like the sound of a Mode Eighty with shiny bottom, FR4 and U4T.
Yo Andy, thanks for the help man. I was literally just struggling with all the mode65 options and this definitely helped narrow down the mode to few combinations. What plate would you say sounds the best with alpacas?
Considering how sharp the sound the boba u4ts on brass sounded.. if you're looking for a deep sound with boba u4t this may not be the board for you. FR4 might mute it and make it sound a bit deeper but you're just gonna have to do pcb foam, silicone, and lube a lot of parts of the switch.
@@AndyVNguyen thank you. So around this price range or lower, what board do you recommend with tactile switches such as u4t? I will also get durock sunflower switches as well since those two seems like the best tactile so far.

If I wanted to buy this as an "upgrade", do you think the experience surpasses the MKII even with a FR4 plate on it? That's what I have now, but the Mode looks so much higher in quality with less hollowness.
Might be a bit silly to ask but how do you listen for hollowness? I've been in the hobby and the custom scene for a while by just watching and reading stuff but I haven't gotten a custom yet.
