      I see that you have been using autopilot, haven't you ? Do you often turn on the generator or run it solely on solar energy?

    Great to see normal people sailing. Please keep going!
    BTW what software is that running on the tablet?

    Great video again. Helping me settle nicely into New Year. A quick question if I may. You look like you have a red beacon on the port side of your mast, about 3 metres up. What is that. I am hoping you will say a cloaking device! However, would be good to know as I am still equipping or boat for some offshore sailing.

      Well, I dont think you would have seen the "red beacon" on the mast in this particular video (Union Island) as I had not fitted it at that time. The only thing I can think you are referring to is a wireless security alarm (sound and light) that I fitted a few months ago to both the hatches and the side of the mast.

      @@SailCloudyBay Ah, that makes sense. Do you think it was worthwhile? We are still gently updating our boat before we head off so watching what you are doing is really helpful! Once again, thanks for the great videos.

      I’m really not sure. I think like any obvious intruder alarm it can be a good deterrent. So for the price ( a cheap RV one ) try it.

    keep it up. sailing videos that show sailing,,,, wish the other channels would do that.

      Thanks for the comment. We certainly do try to have a mixture of both sailing and other activities as we travel. Have you seen our latest video - that one is 100% sailing :)

      Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that way. Most of the other so called sailing channels are just tour guides, living off of others under the guise of "content rich sailing videos". I'm just playing catch-up on all the vids here. Enjoying them immensely.

    Hi Glen, Oana. What a lovely day for sailing! Cloudy Bay was in her element again. A very powerful rig indeed. At 3:58 onwards, the buzzing noise, is that the generator in the background, or the water maker pump (or both?)?

    • @SailCloudyBay
      @SailCloudyBay  6 лет назад

      It was a brilliant sail indeed that day. The noise is the water maker, we run it for an hour every 3 days. The generator is very quiet, it was also running at that time (to power the water maker) but you can't hear that one.

    Just curious, how does the reverse osmosis water taste? Great video!

    • @SailCloudyBay
      @SailCloudyBay  6 лет назад +1

      Its pure water so it tastes lovely. No chlorine or any other impurities. It also means that there is no calcium buildup on showers, taps etc .... they just gleam bright all the time with no need to clean them.
