This is better than DCI...better than Blue Devils, Vanguard, all them! These drummers are PLAYING THE SOUL OF SPACE! They are drumming with they mind, emotions, body, and spirit! Simply nothing but impressive and amazing! I can't stop and won't stop watching...matter of fact...LET ME GO ENROLL!
The opening cadence sounds like a remix to a very familiar cadence played by SCSU's BBI of which BBI played in early days of the RJ Sargeant era of the Marching 101.
LOL. Too smooth. It look like about half the line was madd high though. Feelin' themselves a lil too much. That's how it's gotta be sometimes though. It's like that line from Half-Baked;"Have you ever performed in a band on weed?". This was awesome and full of subtle flare. They really draw you in. Feelin that ol'school step from the tenors as well. This was dope.
Great camera work, great stick heights, great coordination, great grooves, great... everything. See a lot of wandering eyes tho! I'm sure when performance time comes everyone lookin' straight.
They really remind me of Morris Brown back in the day. Not the movie Drumline Morris Brown, even though those are the actual drummers. Been keeping up with these guys for almost 3 yrs now. I love every minute of it.
Just found this. Really just need to note that it's a different tradition than DCI or traditional college bands. Definitely the cleanest I've seen in this style. Would be interesting to see God actually use it as a cadence.
People keep saying how it's so smooth. I want to be in high school drumline next year, and I can't tell how it's so smooth. I just hear everyone playing literally altogether and no one messing up... Is it the dynamics or something? Visuals? Thanks in advance to anyone :)
Just like Khalila Perry said. It's takes a lot of practice to be able to be as one like these guys. Once you get the opportunity to join. Take advantage of all the clinics and ensembles that are presented to your music program. Before you know it you'll be one of the best.
I am going back for another bachelors (even after I already have my masters) just to march!!!!! I need a back brace and a water backpack and I'm in there!!!!!
Tht redbone cymbal female player is sexi :)....but besides tht man tht was the smoothest I've ever seen...an the tenors were swag gin the hell out the whole cadence the whole entire time...can't wait for season to start so I can see all the upload vids of y'all frm this comin season
i thought this drumline has been dope since 1993 and in the last twenty years my opinion hasn't changed. Worry about your own drumline because trust me cold steel is not worried about yours!
The control at the beginning to play at such a slow tempo and play it clean will always be impressive to me.
I played percussion that’s definitely control 🔥🔥🔥😮💨
That is one of the most clean smoothest cadences. I can feel them feel that cadence. Nice arrangement cold steel
I watch this every morning its like my coffee lmao
Me toooooo
This is one of my Favorite drumlines

Terrance Wicks thank you so much. Even though this is an old video we still keep the same work ethic and progress.
Still watching this till today!!💯💯
i watch this shit like twice a week it jus be rockin too hard lol
It is great to see southern style drumlines still alive. Strapped snares and basses. I bet that gives you no pain in the back when wearing them.
These cadences give that stank impression of how funky the groove is
PERFECTION............... COLD STEEL......
The opening cadence sounds like a remix to a very familiar cadence played by SCSU's BBI of which BBI played in early days of the RJ Sargeant era of the Marching 101.
Man this grooves so smoothly. I don't go to NCA&T but I know nice stuff when I see it. Mad props from E.O.S. here at DSU. Great job Cold Steel!!

People keep saying how it's so smooth. I want to be in high school drumline next year, and I can't tell how it's so smooth. I just hear everyone playing literally altogether and no one messing up... Is it the dynamics or something? Visuals?
Thanks in advance to anyone :)
Its the execution and style. It takes patience and hard work to play "altogether " without messing up. You will understand when you start band
Plus, this ensemble has a very relaxed and sophisticated time feel. They are altogether, and swing like crazy!
Just like Khalila Perry said. It's takes a lot of practice to be able to be as one like these guys. Once you get the opportunity to join. Take advantage of all the clinics and ensembles that are presented to your music program. Before you know it you'll be one of the best.
What makes them so smooth is their relaxed behavior and the 2 things that make them all in sync is dynamics and stick heights
Wow, flashing me!
DAMNIT!!! IRockz with ColdSteel...
7:25 - 8:02 them guys look sooooo handsome man
That's clean y'all
When did they get new drums ?
Too smooth,
Hey, which mallets do your tenor drummers use ?
I am going back for another bachelors (even after I already have my masters) just to march!!!!! I need a back brace and a water backpack and I'm in there!!!!!
Tht redbone cymbal female player is sexi :)....but besides tht man tht was the smoothest I've ever seen...an the tenors were swag gin the hell out the whole cadence the whole entire time...can't wait for season to start so I can see all the upload vids of y'all frm this comin season
hey harv yall should come down here for New Orleans Mardi Gras season
What kind of bass drum head do you use?
I come from a DCI snare background but I love the groove
ReddRojo same but tbh when it comes to Drumlines it comes to how Clean they are through rudiments and hard written licks and etc
Coldsteel is definitely the best drumline that is not DCI
This is the classics my Boy this is southern
Folks that march dci are 10× better than percussionists that march in black college bands. Everything is a groove, no diversity.
what are those type of snare harnesses called?
This shit so hard 🔥🔥🔥
My audition is in the 6th can't wait
Them Boyz Smooth
he counted it in signal its called line perifial or however u spell it vision.Guiding right is following.
The first two cadences (up to 1:27) have been played by Cold Steel for OVER 30 YEARS!!! (Bring back memories of my Freshman season Fall 1984!!!)
+M Wilson That groove at 4:30 up until the 7:00 minute mark is killin' ain't it? Smooth and Technical.
He was feeling it at 6:00
Smooth.
They is raw
Thanks from Canada. If I ever make it down your way I'd like to see this live. Great show.

I wanna go here so bad man.
i wish I can go to that college Even tho I am already in college
i thought this drumline has been dope since 1993 and in the last twenty years my opinion hasn't changed. Worry about your own drumline because trust me cold steel is not worried about yours!
Im on cymbals at UA(Roll Tide) and this is too good
It looks like the cymbals were doing a step similar to that of KKPsi @6:45 nice touch
Idk wat year this was but this it their best squad.
go for it....
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Go for it
Well that was kinda cool
SSSMMMOOOTTHHH!
Dope..
bombbbb!
Challenging these guys to a line battle would be suicide...
you obviously never heard of scv double beat 2004
bro dis was made in 2013 lmaoo A&T was ass from 98-06
SCV vs these guys would be a slaughter. A&T cant compete with that
Andres Monterrosa ur fucking dumb i have a close relationship with almost all of them and i guarantee A&T will always take da dub wit this line
Benjamin Butler have you ever seen a drum corps? Its a completely different level from this.
