- This old Blackhawk film was originally 8MM. It features vignettes of New York Central, New Haven, Central Vermont, Delaware & Hudson and Rutland Railroads.

Great footage, but the soundtrack is waaay too somber. Something more upbeat would be more suitable, perhaps some jazz from the era the film was taken.
Sad that non were saved. But we can build replicas of them so they can run excursions.
Interesting info about the CV splitting up the engines. My grandfather used to say it was because of weight limitations on the bridges but he never understood how they could lash up 8 diesels in a row no problem. Perhaps it was in fact to simplify switching out the train.
If you see enough photos of CV trains running south of Brattleboro you begin to understand as the number of cars between engines varies quite a bit.
Do you have video's of The New Haven and Hartford railroad operating on the south shore's Old Colony line in Massachusetts?
Nothing on the Old Colony. Just the material I posted around Providence but I don't know New Haven locations all that well.
