I must say that I may have to leave my beautiful state due to cost of living. I recently changed my homeowners insurance due to my premium tripling in price from 3k to 9k. As a Floridian, I used to get really angry about videos like this. Right now, however, we are so overcrowded and so overpriced and so beyond capacity that I am perfectly happy with a few people being discouraged from moving here and others wanting to move out. I am in the insurance business in one of the major problems in the game is the density of homes and condos on and near the coast. It makes properties nearly uninsurable because of the concentration of risk, the exposure to litigation claims as well as the demands from consumers to have their home insurance policies cover absolutely everything from broken down appliances to leaky faucets. This is exacerbated by a lack of real capacity to provide insurance. Even charging maximum prices does not keep insurance company solving in Florida, nor does it attract additional insurance carriers to help spread the risk lower the premium and offer more choices. When I was born in 1960 they were 8 million people in Florida and now they were very near 23 million. It’s just very difficult to make a lot of things like insurance or finance or manufacturing or even now agriculture work here. We are strangling on all of the people that want to move here and we are out of capacity for housing, insurance, financial support, good, paying jobs, etc.

It is on its way down again so get out while you can because once it crashes you won’t be able to unload it. The difference this time around is that the rising severity and number of storms will prevent it from bouncing back

I have lived here my entire life and I am ready to get to year around warmth. Great video! Definitely are the factors that drive people in & out. I would say from 2016 forward it’s gone down hill.
During covid, soooo many people bought houses due to incredibly low interest rates & remote jobs. They recently built 2 new elementary schools this year and one last year.
I’m from Kissimmee and there is constant building. Literally in any area they can fit it in. 192 Eastbound towards Melbourne was mainly all open land and now slowly but surely it’s filling up.

My wife and I visited Florida many years ago but stayed in our home state where we were born. Made a trip about 38 months ago because my family moved to Cape Coral, Florida and we visited to see what all the excitement was about the area. Lone and behold we were flabbergasted! Cape Coral boasts year-round boating and fishing, how lovely we thought. There are canals that you can take your boat and go out sailing in the Gulf. It all looks lovely, but the area smells pungent. It's low lying and there isn't many trees and flat as a pancake! We were thinking about those nasty hurricanes and when I researched Cape Coral during a hurricane found out it was the hardest hit with massive high winds and flooding. We quickly came to the realization and a decision never to move to Florida. As of one year today, my family that moved to Cape Coral is looking to sell quickly and move to Tennessee or North Carolina because of many factors about the area and the state. When they saw their home insurance bill of $15,959 for an 1,800 sq. ft. home, they nearly had a heart attack! Up went the For Sale sign. They aren't having a difficult time selling because so many interested buyers were looking and there was a bidding war going on with three interested buyers. I thought OMG I hope they know what they are in for. Hopefully, they should be out of the state of Florida by the end of May 2024, if everything goes well with the buyers securing a mortgage.

What’s the Miami roofing companies, suing the insurance companies with fraudulent suits that made insurance not only go up but some realized it’s not even worth it and pulled out completely.

Traffic on Interstate 4, and interstate 75 is horrible all day long and all week long. There is nothing fun about Florida traffic. Traffic is getting worse and worse in Florida and to make things worse every time the county or the state build the roads bigger than they raise the taxes on everything.

Nope, she is buying a big home in S. Carolina? Why? Strange what no weather people mention is the wind. Always windy. El Nino?

I am leaving Florida permanently this weekend. Hate the weather, people drive like maniacs. People aren’t friendly at all especially if you are here alone. I hate the stores as well. People are nasty. I am going back to my home state pronto! And inflation. Everyday supermarket prices go up every day. It is not all it’s cracked up to be. Good luck if you just moved here.

Florida is a nice place to visit but a horrible place to live. I can’t wait to get back to Western NY state. I want to look out my back door and see woods and deer, not house on top of house. Every penny you think you’re going to save on taxes you’ll spend and then some on home/auto insurance and shady contractors replacing your roof every 10 years so you don’t get dropped by your insurer.

This was a great advertisement for Myrtle Beach. 😅😅 that said all of the statistics don’t mean anything if you don’t compare it with what is going on in other states. What is the average amount of people coming and going from other major metropolitan areas? The number alone might seem daunting, but it might be completely normal also for everyone that is leaving how many people are coming in? Again numbers without comparisons don’t really paint a useful picture.
