As a person who plays Bad Piggies (but mostly the field of dreams) I can confirm that some of my contraptions work, like the helicopter thing that got me all 40 star boxes and some don’t like me TNT hauler.

If an autogyro design managed even just a 30 second lift before crashing down, the others will follow suit into that direction even if there were promising airplane designs as well. Or at least, the two will be competing side by side instead of autogyro design being lagged.
