      I feel like they didn’t actually show us the refining process, this looks to be just smelting, scrapping dross or slag off the top of a crucible is common & the idea of refining gold with chlorine while molten sounds insane although I’m not an expert.
      This is usually done at room temperature where the gold is dissolved in solution where the other trace metals can be filtered off

    Colt SAAs have maintained a value almost the same as 1 oz of gold throughout its history.When the first ones were made they sold for roughly$20 bucks while the liberty head $20 gold coin was the same price.Now a custom shop single action will run you around $1800 while gold is you guessed it $1800 oz!

    Where do they make the milk spots?

      @numanuma20 5 лет назад

      Never, it's the polish on the dies for the silver coins that cause milk spots. You will get copper red spots on them.

    7:40 is it just me or is it interesting to others also that they say it takes more pressure to strike a gold coin than is needed to strike a quarter (which is much harder metals) ......hmmmmm

    • @brianwilson9501
      @brianwilson9501 6 лет назад

      samy701 I understand they want a very sharp and detailed design. What I said is why does it take twice as much pressure to strike a gold coin (hello, gold is a lot softer metal) than a Steele quarter. That to me is very odd.

      It is force not pressure. Get units right.

    • @EDCwithAaron
      @EDCwithAaron 5 лет назад

      @@brianwilson9501 more pressure is required because of the larger size of the coin... Striking a dime uses less pressure than a quarter or half dollar. Also no modern US coins are made of steel... Quarters are Copper and Nickel.

    once i bought 50 ,they came in 5 white tubes with red tops 10 in each tube.
    all stacked together, no tissue paper separating them or anything. .maybe a bit of packing foam on the top to keep them from clanging. we are talking 15 thousand dollars per tube and they couldn't afford a bit of tissue paper to keep them nice, as you take them out you likely would touch them against the other and whammo you have a light scratch(.9999pure is very soft,
    buyers of these type coins are EXTREMELY PICKY when you go to sell, i was docked 10 bucks on almost every one.even though they were brand new right from the mint.
    but i do like the maples they are a nice yaller. much prettier than the eagle or kruggerand.
