Hi there! I'm from Greece. In the morning, Greeks usually have a quick breakfast, just coffee and sometimes bread with honey or jam. But afterwards, at about 10.30, they usually eat some kind of pie (spinach or cheese pie or even bougatsa, a pie with cream filling) or koulouri, bread with sesame. When at home, for lunch the whole family usually eats together. Traditional Greek food: pastitsio - pasta with mince and bechamel sauce baked in the oven, moussakas - eggplants with mince and bechamel sauce baked in the oven, roast chicken or lamb with potatoes, meat balls or home made burgers, soutzoukakia or giouvarlakia-both made with mince, dipped in tomato or egg-and lemon sauce, or fish cooked in various ways. Vegetables and legumes play a huge role in greek diet, usually served twice a week; green beans, peas or okras, bean, lentils or chickpeas soup. For dinner, we usually have leftovers from lunch, a sandwich or - yes, you guessed it!- the famous souvlaki or gyros with pita bread. We use olive oil for cooking and only a tiny bit of butter for special occasions.
Greek food sounds delicious and very healthy. I went to Crete and Cyprus when was younger, but it was such a long time ago that I can't remember the food. I hope to go again. Thank you for sharing.
In South India, we have breakfast like fermented rice, idli with filter coffee, dhosai, aapam and idiyappam . For lunch, we have rice with sambar with vegetables, fish curry, mutton curry, prawns, crab, chicken. For evening, snacks we have boiled chick pea, flat lentils with tea, chips, vadai, bonda, rolls and cutlet. For night, we take idli, dosai.

This is very different from what I usually eat here in Brazil. The foods are similar, we have them here but we don’t eat like that, in this combination. Thank you for sharing this video! This is great.

Traditional English food is good and It is uderrated. In any case It is hard to find, even in London some "English restaurant", where you can enjoy traditional quality food.
England is a cold nation and industrialised earlier than other nations. While England transformed into the world's first industrialised society, its food cuisine was greatly affected. The English in the Middle Ages and before the Industrial Revolution were very well respected for their cuisine. They were into and still are fine deserts, fine meats, fine pies, etc. World War 2 rationing deeply damaged England's food stock and resulted in a change of English cooking with cheap and basic products. It's not bad per say, but I feel people wrongly compare English cuisine (and Scottish or Welsh) to nations where the climate is more warmer resulting in better produce. There's a lot of lovely food and English supermarkets sell food from all over the world.
Thanks for this interesting comment. I've been doing some research for a video about British desserts, and I learned that some of my favourites date back to WW2, such as apple crumble.

HI!! I'm a spanish teacher doing a project with my classroom about a trip arround the world, Our first stop is London and we really liked the video. The kids in my class wanted to let you know that your breckfast looks wonderful and we would love to try it. THANKS FOR SHARING!!
Hi. So glad to hear that your students enjoyed learning about British food. Did you see that I have a video about sights in London? Please say hello from me to your students.
In my country there is a lot of different food items. In South part of India common foods are: dosa and chutney Rice and curries Puree and potato masala Put and chick peas.
You are always welcome. Definitely come to Kerala. South most part of India. Good climate, places like "munnar"," wayand"etc are blessed with beauty of nature.you won't be disappointed. ✌
Tbh, I honestly think British food isn't that bad. I mean tbh it's not as good as Chinese, Italian or Greek but it's not bad at all and has really tasty dishes. My favorites are fish and chips, shepherd's pie, savoury pies and ofc fry up (provided the bacon used is turkey bacon or chicken 🤣)
Thank you for an interesting and bright video👍 I also love watching Jamie Oliver's cooking shows, especially "Lunch in 15 Minutes."🍛 I am from Ukraine🇺🇦my favorite national dish is dumplings😋They can be with different fillings: with potatoes, cottage cheese, cherries🍒 If possible, be sure to try it!😉
GREAT VIDEO! i live in italy, we eat lots of pasta, like a loot, almost every day for lunch we eat pasta, for dinner we usually eat meat, fish and other whit vegetables. for breackfast caffee and a broiches or other, for snack i dont know becouse i and my friends dont do it. i guess something salty, but i dont know!
Showed with my students in Italy, in a Cooking Public school. They found it very interesting. And after watching it they made a study on English food. I thank you for this.
Thanx for the informative video! I teach English and some of my students still think that a traditional English breakfast is porridge-))) Now I can show them this video to tell the truth, finally-)) Russian cuisine involves a lot of soups (cabbage soup, beetroot soup etc), dumplings, pies, pancakes. That's what springs to mind when we say "typical Russian cuisine".
British food sometimes has a bad reputation abroad, but food in the UK is far from being bland. London is a great place for fine dining and many celebrity chefs, such as Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay are British. While in any city in the UK you can find international restaurants with great food from all over the world, traditional British food is still popular at home and abroad. But what is traditional British food? Let's start with breakfast. A full English breakfast might not be the healthiest way to start the day, but it certainly is the tastiest. A full English usually includes sausages, bacon, fried tomatoes, baked beans, eggs and buttered toast. For lunch there is nothing more convenient than a sandwich. My favourite is a BLT, made with bacon, lettuce and tomato. Of course sandwiches are popular throughout the world, but this simple meal was invited by the Earl of... yes, you guessed it... the Earl of Sandwich. Sandwich is a town in the South East of England. For an afternoon snack there's Westcountry cream tea. Scones with butter, jam and cream with a cup of tea. The English love to drink tea, but always with a little milk. For dinner I'll introduce the top 5 traditional British meals. #1. Roast beef. So popular that the French call the English Rosbif. It is served with roasted vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, and covered in gravy. #2. Fish and chips. The fish is usually cod or haddock which is deep fried in batter. Served with chips and mushy peas. #3. Pie and chips. Popular pies are steak and kidney or steak and ale. Served with chips. #4. Shephard’s pie. My favourite. Made from minced lamb covered with mashed potato with cheese on top. Served with steamed vegetables. A similar dish is cottage pie which is made with beef instead of lamb. #5. Toad in the hole. Sausages baked in Yorkshire pudding batter, served with gravy and roast vegetables. Umm… delicious.

Greetings from Slovenia! I LOVE learning about the UK and British food, it looks exactly like something i'd eat! The video is well put together as well. Also i searched the video myself, I didn't get anything for homework ;) Much love.
@@EnglishChitChat Of course! Slovene cuisine focuses on homemade and healthy food. For example for breakfast we usually eat bread with butter and honey or jam/marmelade, apples, fresh milk, eggs, porridge (nowdays porridge with cocoa powder), cheese. You usually take what you want, there is no specific combination. For the lunch we have soup (all kinds of soup for example mushroom, beef, yota, goulash) and the main dish usually has meat. Most popular food is slovene sausages, vienna schnitzel, burek, čevapčiči (or how our balkan brothers say ćevapi) and many others. Salad is a MUST HAVE. Meal without the salad feels quite empty even though i'm not sure how many families have the habit of preparing a salad along with the other food. Grandmas like to prepare žganci (simple but can get you full fast). The dessert are often homemade tarts, potica (mostly from poppy seeds, tarragon, wallnuts), biscuits, rice souffle and many others. We usually don't eat dinner but when we do we eat leftovers from lunch or cold cuts/smoked salami. The main course is the most important for us. Many people don't even eat the breakfast either because they don't have time or it's their habit not to. In schools we get brunch in the canteens. Hope this was a but interesting to you and i wish you a nice rest of the day!
@@EnglishChitChat oh i should also add that on weekends we like to have some barbeque. mostly chicken wings, čevapčiči (or ćevapi in other balkan languaged), sausages, grilled vegetables and so on. We like to eat fish as well. Overall food is different in many regions around this small country because there are many cultures on our land that changed the way we live troughout the history (in one corner there are italians, in second one are croatians, then there are hungarians and austrians as well, and they all had some kind of influence on our culture)
In Belgium we eat fries from the "frietkot" and it is really delicious, you also can take some meat for example: " a frikandel, kaaskroket, viandel, burgers, boulet, kip corn, gernaal kroket, frikandel special, stoofvlees, ..."
In algeria, we eat kouskous with chicken and beef or vegtables For sweets: we have bniwen which is made of chocolat and peanuts honey butter and buiscuites.
here in México we eat similar breakfast but I stead the Brown beans we usually use dark ones, and of course the sausages aren't the same, it's what we have 🤣☺️ , i just want to taste the Shephard's pie looks so delicious 🤤🤤 greetings to all the uk people :)✨ stay strong brothers and sisters covid will die soon :'( i hope so 😟☺️✨
A full English breakfast might not be the healthiest way to start the day but it certainly is the tastiest.A full English usually includes sausages bacon fried tomatoes baked beans eggs and buttered toast
As a German, I am positively surprised. It all looks like it could taste. The stories we got told about British cuisine were scarier than the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
I want to give a Simple idea about Indian Bengali food. Are British people familiar with Calcutta, Bengal? Bengali Day starts with tea& Biscuits, Breakfast - puffed rice / bread (roti) & curry / fried veggies Lunch - Rice , pulses , curry, vegitable soup, Chutney (kind of sauce made of suger, sour, fruits) Snacks- nimki , chana chur (types Bengali snacks) Dinner-Rice /Bread & Curry of( veg/ chiken/ fish/ mutton) Beef is prohibited for Hindu. Muslim dishes are almost same but they make Biriany very delicious.
Calcutta makes me think of Phileas Fogg. All British people love Indian food. It's nice to hear what authentic Bengali food is like. I hope to visit there one day and try it for myself.
Great video! You have forgotten about the Pinacle of British gastronomy, which is... Beef Wellington! But disregard that, the video is still cool ;) And about the food of my country, well... Boeuf bourguignon, confit de canard, coq au vin, bouchées à la reine, quiche lorraine, gratin dauphinois, cassoulet, cordon bleu, croque monsieur, croque madame, ratatouille, salade niçoise, tarte flambée, baeckoffee, hachis parmentier, steak-frites, bouillabaisse, pâté en croûte, poulet basquaise, camembert, roquefort, munster, reblochon, comté, brie, croissant, pain au chocolat, canelés, clafoutis, tarte tatin, savarin, crème brûlée, mousse au chocolat, crêpes suzette and many, many more... ;) Your French viewer, Gaullie
Babka is a dish of grated potatoes, seasoned with fried lard, meat and onions and baked in the oven. A dish of Belarusian cuisine, also popular in Poland. Traditionally served hot with sour cream and/or milk.
Thank you for this beautiful sharing! Truly learning really a lot from you! 👍Your skills are so amazing and wonderful, I love it! 😋😘🥰 You have a new sub.
@@mainsmain Its the otherway round. Other countries just copy our cuisine change a few things and call it their own. Actually all countries are like that so why are you crying about it
So few places take cooking seriously. We are littered with pub chains that have the same poor quality across the board but if you dig around you will find some amazing independent pubs that serve up some of the best British meals.
Hello, into central american we have in the morning for our breakfast coffee with milk, bread with cheese,an egg and juice,in the afternoon our lunch is: rice, chicken, salad, menestra, lettuce soup, juice and jelly or flan.and finally for the dinner we have rice with meat, salad and black coffe.

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Belarusian cuisine, here are a few of the must-try dishes: Draniki are perhaps the most iconic Belarusian dish. These crispy potato pancakes are made with grated potatoes, flour, eggs, and onions, and are typically served with sour cream or applesauce. They are a popular snack, side dish, or even main course Kletski are small, savory dumplings that are filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables. They are typically served in soup or as a main course.
Hello. I think the English food missing any dessert, fruits and drinks. What usually do English people drink during the meal? ale, wine, water? For my part my favorite dish is a steak with vegetables: green beans, carots, steam potatoes without sauce and salt but with salt butter only. Umm ... And I drink water!😆
I like to drink red wine with my evening meals, but lager or ale is also popular. I made a video about desserts that you can watch. Where are you from? Tell us about food from your country. ruclips.net/video/jttikvV9vRo/видео.html
@@EnglishChitChat I'm sorry to answer you so late. I'm from France, more exactly from Brittany. In this country we eat a lot of vegetables. For example : cabbages, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes came from our kitchen gardens. About meat, it's usally pork or chiken, sometime beef. Crepe is Brittany speciality. You can eat its sweet or salty. Salty with eggs or bacon or sausage, sweet with jam, honey or ice cream. it is appreciated by everybody even hollydaymakers from everywhere. Do you know this specialities ? Have a nice day.
In Sri Lanka , rice and curry is the commenest. If anything hot and spicy, it's preferred. More vegetables and fruits but less flour mixtured items consumed. Soups prepared from herbal plants, various leave and vegetables often consumed with breakfast. More fish but less meat specially for religious reasons.

Please don’t put your students trough that ordeal, the fat will or butter will clogged their arteries.
In my country there is a lot of different food items. In South part of India common foods are:
dosa and chutney
Rice and curries
Puree and potato masala
Put and chick peas.
We love Indian food in England. I would love to visit India to try authentic Indian food.
You are always welcome. Definitely come to Kerala. South most part of India. Good climate, places like "munnar"," wayand"etc are blessed with beauty of nature.you won't be disappointed. ✌
I did a Google search. Kerala looks beautiful.
Hi my teacher send to me this video. its realy good
I'm glad you liked it :)

Yummies food here's in the Philippines many deshis.. and recipes food s..
You nailed the video. My favorite cottage pie and prime rib roast, yorkshire pudding, veg, potatoes.
Right. Traditional British food isn't the best in the world, but it is still pretty good.
I don't like Shepherd's pie. Quite a few of the British dishes are similar to some of the foods that we have in America.
I know it's controversial but i think italian food apart from pizza is so overated.
Fish and chips are not British food was bring over by Portuguese Jews
Thank you for an interesting and bright video👍 I also love watching Jamie Oliver's cooking shows, especially "Lunch in 15 Minutes."🍛 I am from Ukraine🇺🇦my favorite national dish is dumplings😋They can be with different fillings: with potatoes, cottage cheese, cherries🍒 If possible, be sure to try it!😉
I've visited several Russian restaurants. I think Ukrainian food is similar. It's very tasty. I love international food.
Hello how are you doing today hope all is well with you ?

I hope you get a good grade.
English Chit Chat we are literally told to write British food and compare it with our local)
It could be worse. I'm asking my students to make videos about traditional food from their country.
🤣🤣🤣
Showed with my students in Italy, in a Cooking Public school. They found it very interesting. And after watching it they made a study on English food. I thank you for this.
That's great to hear. Thank you for playing it to your students. It would be nice if one of them left a comment about traditional Italian food.

Hello how are you doing today hope you’re having a wonderful day
wow I have learned new things thanks
Thank you for the useful information. It seems so delicious.

At 4'o clock we have tea or coffee along with some snacks such as samoosa, banana and different type of vada. At dinner we have chapthi or rice with ground nut, green peas, fishes/meat

Greetings from Slovenia! I LOVE learning about the UK and British food, it looks exactly like something i'd eat! The video is well put together as well. Also i searched the video myself, I didn't get anything for homework ;) Much love.
Hi. Please tell us about Slovenian food.
Thank you so much for such a detailed answer. I hope I can visit Slovenia to try all this delicious sounding food.
@@EnglishChitChat no problem :) Yeah you should come visit us haha
In Belgium we eat fries from the "frietkot" and it is really delicious, you also can take some meat for example: " a frikandel, kaaskroket, viandel, burgers, boulet, kip corn, gernaal kroket, frikandel special, stoofvlees, ..."
In algeria, we eat kouskous with chicken and beef or vegtables
For sweets: we have bniwen which is made of chocolat and peanuts honey butter and buiscuites.
That sounds delicious. I've always wanted to visit a north African country to try the food and experience the culture.
So yummy food and helthy food 💖💖🙏

As a German, I am positively surprised. It all looks like it could taste. The stories we got told about British cuisine were scarier than the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
They are true, I live here.

I want to give a Simple idea about Indian Bengali food. Are British people familiar with Calcutta, Bengal? Bengali Day starts with tea& Biscuits, Breakfast - puffed rice / bread (roti) & curry / fried veggies
Lunch - Rice , pulses , curry, vegitable soup, Chutney (kind of sauce made of suger, sour, fruits)
Snacks- nimki , chana chur (types Bengali snacks)
Dinner-Rice /Bread & Curry of( veg/ chiken/ fish/ mutton)
Beef is prohibited for Hindu.
But disregard that, the video is still cool ;)
And about the food of my country, well...
Boeuf bourguignon, confit de canard, coq au vin, bouchées à la reine, quiche lorraine, gratin dauphinois, cassoulet, cordon bleu, croque monsieur, croque madame, ratatouille, salade niçoise, tarte flambée, baeckoffee, hachis parmentier, steak-frites, bouillabaisse, pâté en croûte, poulet basquaise, camembert, roquefort, munster, reblochon, comté, brie, croissant, pain au chocolat, canelés, clafoutis, tarte tatin, savarin, crème brûlée, mousse au chocolat, crêpes suzette and many, many more... ;)
Your French viewer,

Hi Gaullie. Beef wellington is one of my favourites. And I love French food and culture.
Babka is a dish of grated potatoes, seasoned with fried lard, meat and onions and baked in the oven. A dish of Belarusian cuisine, also popular in Poland. Traditionally served hot with sour cream and/or milk.
Peruvian food is wonderful also, you have plenty dishes to chose no matter if is breakfast ,lunch or dinner...
Beautiful nice friend
thanks, my teacher use your video for exemple

I agree
I think British food is underappreciated. I honestly don't get why do people stereotype this particular cuisine 🤔
cuz there's almost nothing british about the food its just things that exist in other countries but in weird combinations
Really? I wonder what dishes your thinking of.
@@mainsmain Its the otherway round. Other countries just copy our cuisine change a few things and call it their own. Actually all countries are like that so why are you crying about it

I heard British food wasn't so good but these look delicious
So few places take cooking seriously. We are littered with pub chains that have the same poor quality across the board but if you dig around you will find some amazing independent pubs that serve up some of the best British meals.
Hello, into central american we have in the morning for our breakfast coffee with milk, bread with cheese,an egg and juice,in the afternoon our lunch is: rice, chicken, salad, menestra, lettuce soup, juice and jelly or flan.and finally for the dinner we have rice with meat, salad and black coffe.

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Belarusian cuisine, here are a few of the must-try dishes:
Draniki are perhaps the most iconic Belarusian dish. These crispy potato pancakes are made with grated potatoes, flour, eggs, and onions, and are typically served with sour cream or applesauce. They are a popular snack, side dish, or even main course
Kletski are small, savory dumplings that are filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables. They are typically served in soup or as a main course.
Good information my dear
I used to live in England for 23 years and I liked and I was eating many times.
I would assume if you lived there for 23 years you’ve “eaten many times”
I like this video ,I am from India
The most popular dish is samosa and Panipuri is so delicious.

Good job

Crepe is Brittany speciality. You can eat its sweet or salty. Salty with eggs or bacon or sausage, sweet with jam, honey or ice cream. it is appreciated by everybody even hollydaymakers from everywhere.
