THE FLIRTATIONS Earthquake EXTENDED VERSION

This is a longer mix, using the same video I posted some years back but with a different mp3 attached to it. More great clubbing memories and 1983's 'Earthquake' by The Flirtations. This eventually came to me via a delightfully titled compilation: 'Twelve Inches of Pleasure' - and it housed what would become treasures for life - Hazell Dean's 'Searchin', American Fade's 'I'm Alive' and this stomper from the pen of Ian Anthony Stephens - the mastermind behind the aforementioned 'Searchin' as well as the recently posted 'Catch Me (I'm Falling In Love') by Marsha Raven.
The Flirtations were an American group who started their career two decades before as The Gypsies, had released R&B and pop tracks to varying degrees of success. With HI NRG all the rage in 1983, this song with its dramatic drum beats and the compelling synths and vocals, 'Earthquake' is a bouncy and memorable postcard from the era. I've used some 80's dancing to create this clip which is certainly high octane and suits the rapid beats per minute featured in this generous extended remix.

Damn! Great Memories Circus would play this one and the floor would shake. The Hottest Club in Hollywood in the 80's and 90's. Party people would come from all over Southern California to enjoy the Light Show and Sound System. There would be a line outside the door for days.
