I remember the first time RuPaul's Drag Race came on air, my brother tuned in excitedly thinking it was a show about Car Drag Racing 😂

I met Rupaul once, back around 1994, after Supermodel but before his VH-1 talk show. It was at a bar in South Beach, I was a young 20 something gay twink with my little entourage without a care in the world. We were a little star struck over Ru, but Ru made a big fuss over our group of young gays and made us feel like he saw us and we were something. He was so incredibly gracious to us, I’ll never forget it. Will always be a huge fan. ☮️❤️🌈

I just kept thinking about Ru and Joys previous interaction 😂

Ru is "on" so much of the time, it's VERY rare he ever gets TRULY emotional, unexaggerated/not for the cameras. But you can see Whoopi's accolade really touched him. Muthas supporting Muthas. Werk.

I was at the live taping today and it was so special! The amount of love in the room was amazing and also seeing Whoopi was such a delight! Ru pointed at me and I felt like he looked into my soul haha - so happy!! The energy was fab 🩵

Rupaul is not only an icon he is absolutely revolutionary. Not only did he help to break racial barriers, but he also helped to break gender and orientation barriers as well. Do your thing RU! 👏🏻 💯

RuPaul received a well deserved huge ‘ welcome back’ ovation and I loved what Whoopi said about his contribution to culture ❤️

  • @misslady582

I love RuPaul! "you're born naked and the rest is drag." 😂😂

  • @howabouthat8606

A comment Rupaul made on his podcast many years ago has always stayed with me: "When you become the architect of your own experience on this planet, that's when the party really begins." Love Rupaul and the fabulous queens - they bring joy, light, love and laughter

  • @erikm8372

“We’re all co-creators with the creator.” Everything Ru says is GOLD

  • @jbghumanjr

"you can look in the darkness... but don't STARE!" wonderful words. Of course life will make this VERY hard to follow for some and all at times. It's a very up and down journey... but nonetheless a good phrase to hold onto.

I cried this entire interview. The standing ovation. The message. The humbleness while receiving accolades. Looking forward to reading this memoir. ❤
