Covid has 2020 Kenji looking like 2007 Cook's Illustrated Kenji. Someone needs to be posted just off camera holding a fan so his hair constantly looks like it blowing in the wind.
I support the off camera fan 😂. I say this with hair growing half way down my back, color grown out, raggedy as all hell, because I’m a healthcare worker refusing to risk getting my hair done and wearing it in a bun for life I guess. Or at least the foreseeable future.🤷♀️
Unboxing is totally a RUclips thing. The oven is amazing. Our big range packed it in a couple weeks before my Anova was set to be delivered, after using the Anova the range is not getting replaced. How do CVap ovens compare to consumer grade sous vide devices in terms of (1) how long it takes to bring meat up to temperature and (2) excess surface moisture that leads to steaming instead of searing meats?
Kenji says he would test the oven, and I’m still waiting four months later. (Actually I just learned about this oven, and was hoping to hear some review feedback instead of just opening the box ). Thanks.
Your Sous Vide recipes on the ANOVA website are what initially brought me here. Thanks for those recipes as I've cooked many awesome meals thanks to you.
Hey kenji, I know the odds are that you won't see this, but is there any chance we could get a further look into the oven? Id love to see some comparisons to traditional ovens and perhaps steamers. I was looking into getting this as my main oven, (only cooking for one and limited space) and wondering if it would be sufficient.

I can't say that Anova specifically is the future of home cooking, but affordable consumer sized combi ovens may just become top dog in the coming years. Though I thought products like the Sous Vide Supreme water oven would become a lot more popular than it did when I bought mine 7 odd years ago.
@kenji It’s been over a year and I noticed the oven in your latest beef stew video today. What are your thoughts on this oven? Would love to see your review and maybe recipes that you have done using the APO. I purchased mine about a month ago.
Haha it’s now in our basement storage room and my Breville toaster oven is back in its place. It’s good if you bake a lot of bread or cook a lot of meat Sous vide.
