Thanks a lot Rahoul Sahab for sharing the information to the current world about the All time great music maestro, KL Saigal Sahab. His first Pvt recorded songs were in 1929 about which you mentioned ( source - Pran Neville's book). There are very many songs of KLS which are simply out of the world. such as Jeevan Bhi Madhur naa baaje in Street Singer. The song of trio - K.C.Dey, Uma Shashi & KLS ( one version) & other one with the great Pankaj Mallick, Uma Shashi, KLS .. Duniya Rang Rangili Baba (nonpareil song), Avsar Beeto Jaat Praani, etc. His Ghazals were also excellent. I thank my father ( H.Narayanan) to have made me familiar with the songs of this all time great singer. We will fail if we don't mention about the great musician, Raichand Boral. What a music he used to give to KLS's songs

I am a great fan of Kundan Lal Saigal Sahab's song from the age of 6, listening to songs played by my father on the Gramaphone. There are many favourite songs of mine of his songs, such as Bhaj toh bhav se , jeevan bhi na madhur baje, avsar beeto jaat praani.... Rahoul Ji you sing very well-it is not easy to sing Saigal! I first heard Saigal as my father used to play LP records (Vinyl) of his. Apart from the usual hits of his, I used to love a Bhajan of his whose words are 'Andhe Kee Laathi Tu Hi Hay........ Tu Hi Jeevan Ujiyaara Hay...... I also love 'Do Naina Matware Teharey' and 'Main Kya Jaanu Kya Jaadu Hai'-please note how Saigal sings Kya-so beautiful and soul touching. Many singers like Mukesh and even Jagjit Singh used to sing like Saigal in the very early days. And the marvel was Saigal very got formal training from any one Ustaad. What a man!
Thank you for the info on Saigal Saab.🙏 He belonged to my parents and grand parents generation. But I remember getting mesmerised by his songs in my childhood of 60s n 70s. There was a 15 minute programme of Saigal songs every morning in Vivid Bharati which would drag me to the radio wherever I was. I was convinced then - and even now - that there never was and never will be a soulful singer like him.
Great to hear these memoIrs .... I remember my late father was an ardent fan of this legendary singer K L Saigal,& used to sing his songs.... (My father was a very good singer & had a sharp sense of music,) but I, as a young little bubbly & chirpy girl did not quite like Saigal sab's nasal tone & the way he used to pronounce the words... But now, after learning music for so many years, I have understood the depth of his voice ... There are many songs that I like & love to hear over & over, again & again, but my personal favourite is this one, as it reminds me of my darling dad & his deep voice .... " Sapt surana teen gram, gavo sab gunijan, ikkis murchhana, baan taan ko milao." Sorry, that was a pretty long comment ...🙏🙏🙏... Loved your story ...

My parents too. They used to turn on Radio Ceylon at 7:30am to listen to vintage songs and kept it on till after 8:00am, after K L Saigal’s song. As a kid, I didn’t appreciate K L Saigal and didn’t understand why they liked this singer who sang with a drawl. My mother explained to me why she liked him: because unlike present day singers, he didn’t require an accompaniment and that he was a team of one, who wrote, directed, and sang his own songs. Over time, I came to appreciate his singing and his drawl. He sounds like a male version of Noor Jehan. But don’t misunderstand me, I didn’t like most of his songs because they sounded drunk. My favorite Saigal songs are, “Jab dil hi toot gaya, hum ji ke kya karenge“, “Gam diye mustaffil, kitna naazuk hai dil”, “Baabul mora”. BTW, Rahoul, you sing Saigal very well. Rightly said, all-time superstar, from childhood have been listening to Radio Ceylon, and only after listening to the last song of KL Saigal, we used to start the daily chores. My favourite is Do Naina Matware, Diya jisne dil and ofcourse diya jalao. आभारी राहूल 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amazing story on K.L.Saigal the superstar of Kolkata hindi film industry. Got to know a lot of info about him in your video. Superb video and fantastic narration 👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for such informative and very interesting presentation. It could have been much more entertaining to the newer generation if a few clippings from original voice records of KL.Saigal were incorporated.
My story on K L Saigal is bit long but have a very special place in my heart 💖 He was my father’s favourite singer and my dad’s favourite songs were Babul Mora and Nain heen ko raah dekha Prabhu. KL Saigal used to visit Kala Hanuman temple in Kandivali regularly which was built by my grandfather, & in his teens my father lived next to the temple. Dad told that Saigal Jee would be so drunk that would be sit on the steps of the temple and it was a really small temple so late night no one would be there. Dad was a young boy so would go to him and he would ask my dad; Kya naam hein tera baccha? Gana sunega? Why would you not like personal performance. Saigal Jee would sing few and then go in his car. This happened few times so dad always cherished it and sang these songs to us. 🤗🤗
In 1950's l used to wait for Sahgals' song with great excitement in Lahore from radio cylon(l used to take radio under my Lehaf to listen 🎶) Prof.Dr Nasir Fazal Cambridge USA
Please present another very very attractive video like this on 22.07.2022 on the occasion of birthday centenary of our beloved legendary płayback singer 'MUKESHJI'.
I am 66 yrs., I enjoy listening to Shri K L Saigal Ji's songs. Apart from the songs he sang in films there are a lot of non filmi songs sung by him, especially gazals written by Ghalib, Seemab Akbarabadi to name a few. Many of the gazals have very profound meanings which are taken to new heights with Shri Saigal's immortal voice.
Thanks a million for sharing, I remember from Sri Lanka old songs were played Didn' t miss it and one song was of K.L Saigal was played, yes good old day, music and songs were the only entertainment. Miss all those days. 😊
Would like to differ u sir... K. L. Saigal isn't the first singing superstar as many other have acknowledged so far... but rather his contemporaries Master Nisar (Muhammad Ali Nisar) & Madam Kaijjan (Jahanara kaijjan) used to be from 1931-35. Whereas K. L. Saigal emerged as nationwide sensation from mid 30s - mid 40s (until his death).
True, but their popularity was very short lived, there are many examples in indian cinema and music where singers gained overnight popularity, but dissapeared after a while. The star is one who gets success repeatedly, over a period of time.
Even kishore kumar was highly influenced by K L Saigal and used to copy him in his earlier days. S.D Burman suggested kishore lumar to develop his own style. Anyway great info on K L Saigal. Thanks
Amazing description. I really didn't know much about this legend (I'm from a much much later generation 😬) So, thanks to you that you chose to talk about him. And that - "Record ke is taraf & us taraf" is gonna be bouncer for current generation 😂 The only songs I have known of him are Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya & Ek Bangla Bane Niyaara!
Yet another feather in your cap Rahulji for the video on divine voice which directly run through the soul. Whom music lovers call n remember as Immortal K.L.SAIGAL and he is. Verily tough to choose the one out of gems. But to honour your so fondly made appeal here it is "Gham diye mushtqil kitna nazuk hai dil....."

👍
Thanks for such informative and very interesting presentation. It could have been much more entertaining to the newer generation if a few clippings from original voice records of KL.Saigal were incorporated.

I like almost all the songs of Saigal Sahab Babul Mora Naihar chhooto jaye is my most favourite
ok
My story on K L Saigal is bit long but have a very special place in my heart 💖
He was my father’s favourite singer and my dad’s favourite songs were Babul Mora and Nain heen ko raah dekha Prabhu.
😯…. Wow! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for such a interesting information about great Saigal saab.
My 3 favourite songs:
1:Mandve talay green k do phool Khil rhy hain
2:jab dil he toot Gaya
3:ae Katib-taqdeer

Please present another very very attractive video like this on 22.07.2022 on
the occasion of birthday centenary
of our beloved legendary płayback singer 'MUKESHJI'.
Yes, I am the biggest fan of Mukesh Sir. I also want a video.
will try
I am 66 yrs., I enjoy listening to Shri K L Saigal Ji's songs. Apart from the songs he sang in films there are a lot of non filmi songs sung by him, especially gazals written by Ghalib, Seemab Akbarabadi to name a few. Many of the gazals have very profound meanings which are taken to new heights with Shri Saigal's immortal voice.
Indeed he was a superstar, one lakh per film those days equals to how many crores today, you can tell. He was highest paid singer actor of those days.
True 😊
I heard he used to drink a costly western whiskey Rs.26. may be it is valued nearly RS.5000/- now.

Ek Bangla Bane Pyaara is my favourite ❤️❤️❤️. Your presentation style is awesome Rahoul. Keep going.👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks a million for sharing, I remember from Sri Lanka old songs were played Didn' t miss it and one song was of K.L Saigal was played, yes good old day, music and songs were the only entertainment.
Very good information about kL Sehgal a very talented singer and actor bohot jaldi chale gaye
Even kishore kumar was highly influenced by K L Saigal and used to copy him in his earlier days. S.D Burman suggested kishore lumar to develop his own style.
Anyway great info on K L Saigal.
Thanks
Welcome
Waah waah kya sunaaya hei aapne, Shukriya.
Amazing description. I really didn't know much about this legend (I'm from a much much later generation 😬) So, thanks to you that you chose to talk about him.
