- Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human-the BATMAN. His one-man crusade attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
Starring Hamish Linklater as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast including: Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung, Diedrich Bader, Minnie Driver, Mckenna Grace, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, Paul Scheer, Reid Scott, Tom Kenny, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Dan Donohue, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment and Toby Stephens.
From the minds of executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm, season one of Batman: Caped Crusader arrives August 1 to Prime Video.
Linklater is a great choice for Batman. Definitely fits the tone of the show and the era. Props to him for filling in the shoes of Batman. Really won't be easy now that Kevin is no longer with us, but I think this could be a hit.

He truly was Batman
The Golden Age character designs are so good. Batman looks like his earliest appearances, Catwoman's wearing her best 40s costume, and Gotham has that retro BTAS style. I gotta say, this looks really, really good.
Golden age was called the golden age for a reason.
Wish they would tone it back to that level, bring back the original costumes. And actually let the continuity move forward like it did during pc....
@@sudanemamimikiki1527Yes, that's what 40s comics were famous for, their incredible continuity
Ah yes. Pc. The other name for golden age.
@@veronicamcghie5238sarcasm? I wouldn't know cos I didn't read the golden age stuff
@@klas-6 Extreme sarcasm. Golden Age comic books were disposable affairs like newspapers or magazines, intended to be read and then thrown away. Golden Age stories were short affairs (often three different stories to a single issue), designed to be read even if you'd never read another comic before. That is straight from his first year in comics in 1939.
1:16 The LAST thing I expected from this trailer was my main man Onomatopoeia!

Cannot wait! One of my favorite comics characters that doesn’t get enough love
They had multiple niche villians it was such a great show
A Kevin Smith villain created for the Green Arrow, such an instant icon. Character oozes Gotham and truly belongs to Batman's rogues gallery.
Just the fact Onomatopoeia was there made me stand up outta my seat.
That was one character I didn't expect to see here. Fun to see what they do with him.
He can be a bit of an oddball character, but he actually fits the 40s aesthetic they're going for surprisingly well.

Batman returns to his 40's roots. And they already have a strong villain line up. Two-Face, Harley, Penguin, Scarecrow, Firefly, Falcone, Catwoman, this looks great. Shame it's on Amazon Prime.

Remember when David said Batman was a pillar of HBO, but then decided not to put this Batman show on max.... Despite Batman being a pillar of the HBO brand.... Good leadership....

I like how everything is styled with a 1930’s aesthetic! I hope this show gets a 5-season run. It would be fun to see how they handle Robin, which historically shows up around season 3. The last Batman show only lasted one season 😢
Robin shows up at the end of first season, if we compare it to the comics history. Way before Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, Two Face, etc
@@josesarango3408 oh I was referring to the the animated series, namely Batman: The Animated Series and The Batman. I grew up in the 90s, so that’s what I know. But if we go back far enough, I’m sure Robin was just always there from the start. In the 90s is probably when creators were more interested in solo Batman stories. It’s kind of been that way ever since. Always takes some time before getting to Robin these days.
@@PhilChoArt then dont use the word historically... in the 90s we had 2 movies featuring Robin and 2 without, how does that prove 90s was more into solo batman? It was Nolans DKT that started the no robin trend
Robin will probably be either at the end of this first season or leading into second season.
@@sean871 Yeah but it was 2 solo Batman movies first. Robin showed up in the third movie. My statement still checks out. Also, Robin showed up in The Dark Knight Rises too, also third movie. So yeah, historically, it's usually the third thing, movie or season.

YES! YES! Onomatopoeia makes his debut in this series. Thank You!!! I hope they make him as and more evil than his comic book version (if they can).
There was also a gender swapped version in the last season of Superman and Lois, which was also enjoyable.
That’s his name???
Originally, he was a Green Arrow villain but started doing his thing in Gotham. Never knew what his deal was since the last book in Kevin Smith's Batman run was put on hold indefinitely

Hopefully Batman's official first villain, Dr. Death makes it in this show. Hopefully the other first villains are included too such as Mad Monk, Carl Krueger, and more. Glad Onomatopoeia is getting a spotlight.
I'd be so excited if they brought in the Mad Monk and Dala. Also, they could throw in some other DC characters from that era who would fit the tone of the show, like Wesley Dodds as the Sandman.

Yeah I'm curious if these are parts of songs or just sound effects created for the trailer.
The show looks great, but I can’t get over the fact that Warner Media spent at least a billion dollars on JJ Abrams, only to produce a single Batman cartoon on a competing streaming platform.
When I'm in the hating-animation Olimpics and my contestant is Warner Brothers™
The old HBO president did. That’s why this show is on prime. Because Abraham’s gets ROYALTIES when he race and gender swaps. That’s why he changes things, don’t have to pay families of creators when you make certain changes. It’s why they introduced miles morales as spider man to not pay Steve Ditko family royalties. It’s a “new creation” and HBO new president wants to return to an authentic version of DCU that will stand test of time.
I think Linklater is gonna make a fine Batman, and I’m excited to see Onomatopoeia adapted. All in all, looks promising.
Kind of tired of everybody comparing new voice actors to conroy. Let the man rest in peace and not constantly try to dig him out of his grave. The imitations make sense and are ok but we also should get unique performances. The main example being Kevin Michael Richardson and his role as the joker which was one of the best joker voices. The thing is it wasn’t being an imitation of mark hamill or at least not completely and that’s what we need.
Thank you. I am always a little afraid to say this. We all loved Conroy, but he wasn't the only one capable of doing a great batman voice. I know for a lot of people Conroy IS batman, but that just isn't something that ever resonated with me personally. Again, Conroy was great. He will be missed. But Batman is and has been many people over the years.
Kevin conroy is my favorite Batman voice of all time, his time on BTAS is fantastic. That said, I won’t deny there’s definitely others that do solid work on the Batman role too, Troy baker sounds great in tmnt vs Batman, the Batman show on kids WB was different but in a good way and the voice for Batman in that was awesome, the voice for Batman from justice league war up to apocalypse war is good too, and Craig Roger smith in Arkham origins I think is criminally underrated as Batman.
I actually like Jensen Ackles' performance in the movies, it's low/deep enough and very serious sounding
@@Ishicoatl he's actually pretty good too, but same time I can't help but think red hood. Dude just killed it with his performance in under the red hood and tends to be the voice I hear when reading lines spoken by him in the batfamily webcomics.
I hope this is good. Batman's voice actor has MASSIVE shoes to fill. Tbh he kinda sounds like a mix between patbat and conroy. He has the same kinda voice as kevin imo but speaks in the same kinda gravelly whisper that pattison spoke in which i thought worked well in that movie. Atleast he's not trying to go for a bale impression

I actually like that they’re doing a callback to Bruce Timm’s art style for Batman:TAS while simultaneously paying homage to Bill Finger’s original design.
I only wish Warner threw a larger budget at this so the studio could collaborate with those from across the world (similar to how WB Animation teamed up with anime studios in Japan such as Sunrise, TMS and Spectrum). Maybe collaborate with new studios such as The Line Animation and D’Art Shtajio, to name a few.
