If i recall, it was rare on the legend of the blue eyes booster, also this cards were not that bad back in the day when the boosters packs were limited to LOB or the other booster i forgot the name where you could get Relinquished, like there were not really that much of strong monsters in basic decks, and also if you didn't had money to get several cards you were basically building decks out of one starter and 2 or 3 boosters (im from mexico so this shit was expensive af back in the day)

I always liked how some of these ritual monsters were classified as Divine in some games. It made up for the lack of good spread, summoning requirements and effects by making them immune to Spell and Traps.
Cu Chulainn is also a character in the anime Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. He is based off of a mythological Irish hero. I can't believe there is also a card of him in Yu-Gi-Oh, too.

konami made rituals because at the time yugioh was just about brute force having the best cards with strong stats not really about effects that much besides just spells and traps the game was inteded for +4 year olds vanilla's were release as part of the tv show but also for the younger audience of toddlers who had brains the size of a walnut the way the game was like back then you didn't have to do tributes just play the card regardless of how high the monster was until battle city season kicked in and all the kids even back when i was still in grade school started adopting playing with the tribute ruling then rituals rolled in and it was all the same basic except for the ritual spell requirement
In Cú Chulainn's case, one viable strategy would be to equip it with Ritual Weapon, find a way to protect it from being destroyed, and then use plenty of cards that send Levels 6, 7 and 8 Normal monsters en masse to the Graveyard, and each time picking one of those monsters to add to Chulainn's attack. In a combo with Blue-Eyes White Dragons (and possibly a way to bring them back from the Banish zone into the Graveyard), this could potentially be very powerful. Not unstoppable powerful, but not half-bad. Of course, with today's metagame it might not be a very good deck, but it might have been a viable strategy before.

Well its fine. 2300 atk is the lowest a 7 star should have. Plus it's typed right as a Earth Beast. So, it's usuable rather then useless like Javelin Beatle, or if we're sticking to 7 star rituals, Skull Guardian is much worse.
To answer your earlier question about why some of these ritual monsters had too high levels or too low attack/defense points is because they were some of the earliest cards ever made. Back then, many cards that had more than 1500 attack points had more than 4 stars. At that time, they were among the most powerful cards in the game. Also, if you look closely at Fiend's Mirror, it's supposed to have a face on it (eyes are on each side, and the blades near the bottom are fashioned to look like a mouth). Maybe that might make it look a little cooler.
hungry burger was my boss monster when I was 5. I'm 19 now, but it still holds a place in my heart and always will. The a forces and and that basic 400 atk boost equip made him god tier back then.
About the Burger: At the time it came out, almost all effect monsters had under, or around 1000 stat TOTAL, and with a few exceptions, the strongest Normal lvl 4's had around 1600 attack. And if you also think about how most equip spells gave +300 ATK/DEF, their total ATK hovers at 1900-1950. Being able to get out a 2k beatstick in one turn was a pretty big deal at the time.

Gotta admit, I took a bit of exception with #7 on the list; the whole concept of Ritual Monsters was what got me into this game in the first place, and the first deck I ever built was a Crab Turtle deck. (Then the Pegasus Starter came out and Relinquished became my go-to monster for about 2 years...)
i used to have a hungry burger back when nobody in my class had rituals, they all thought he was fake. i wish that he had more designated gimmicky cards like condiments and kitchen related ones, maybe pair him with other food type monsters as well
Only thing I can think of that the effect of Chulainn could work on was if you banished blue eyes red eyes or dark magician but even that seems like a lack luster idea

Yeah, it's mainly bad from an art work stand point. But level 6 with 2100 atk and it's a dark fiend. Could find something for it, so not useless at the very least.
When I see Hungry Burger, I think of H2ODelirious' avatar when he plays Uno with friends which is a cheeseburger eating a cheeseburger in front of a plain blue background. Perhaps owning this card has novelty value in that you're a part of the Delirious Army.
when these cards came out, they were like todays synchro monster. back then there were crappy cards but you could still use them to summon a blue card. It was a good to have a beatstick that had more than 2000 atk. Still love these cards

Hey it is possible to make a very cool deck around Hungry Burger, there is a lot of support for him, like: - "Magnum Shield" and "Ritual Weapon" can increase his power to more than 3000 - "Pre-Preparations Rites" would be a support for any ritual, however since HB is dark it can be used together with "Allure of Darkness" for deck thinning and card advantage - "Advanced Ritual Arts", it can be searched with PPR and since HB is level 6 you could further thin out your deck. If the monsters sent are all lvl 1 then are 6 more cards to graveyard(and less in the deck). - You can also use "Contract with the Abyss" since he is dark - And also "Exchange of Night and Day" for searching of a light Warrior So yeah, far from useless
I knew you would put Crab Turtle on the list. I'm not mad, though. I know it's kind of crappy, but it has a special place in my heart because it was the very few ritual monster I ever got. I still have it to this day.
I'd really love a Hungry Burger archetype, maybe like whenever a Hungry Burger monster is sent to the grave it creates Meat Counters equal to its level and then you can use Meat Counters to special summon more Hungry Burger monsters (the idea being that you are grinding up your monsters and reusing them). Maybe you could also use Meat Counters to buff your Hungry Burger monsters.
I have several of the cards on this list in my Ritual Deck. No Fusions/Xyz/Synchros in the lot (due to the effects of the deck's cornerstone, The Seal of Orichalcos), just vanillas, Rituals and a few Effect Monsters, plus Spell/Trap support. One of my favorite things to do is pull out Hungry Burger and equip it with Ritual Weapon, which immediately gives you a Level 6, 3500 ATK beatstick that isn't very hard to Special Summon, which the Seal boosts to 4000. Yes, it's kind of a high risk/high reward deck to play, but I can have a lot of fun with it surprising people.
To be fair, there are more than enough vanilla ritual monsters to fill a list like this. Same with fusions. The fact that he included even one effect monster is a sign that he cares enough to do so.
Hungry Burger has always been my favorite card. I run a somewhat Billy deck with food themed cards including Malicevorous's and Maldoches with random Naturia thrown in. It's not a tournament winning deck but it's an extremely fun deck to play.

Also, if you look closely at Fiend's Mirror, it's supposed to have a face on it (eyes are on each side, and the blades near the bottom are fashioned to look like a mouth). Maybe that might make it look a little cooler.
hungry burger was my boss monster when I was 5. I'm 19 now, but it still holds a place in my heart and always will. The a forces and and that basic 400 atk boost equip made him god tier back then.
there is no cheese in that burger though
i love the fact that in YU-GI-OH DOTR, ritual monsters have the effect of boost their attack if they fight a specific type of monster
About the Burger: At the time it came out, almost all effect monsters had under, or around 1000 stat TOTAL, and with a few exceptions, the strongest Normal lvl 4's had around 1600 attack. And if you also think about how most equip spells gave +300 ATK/DEF, their total ATK hovers at 1900-1950. Being able to get out a 2k beatstick in one turn was a pretty big deal at the time.

The awakened is pretty cool in duel links when you discard a blue eyes to summon it. Also, great videos, I love your top worst card videos the best.

Gotta admit, I took a bit of exception with #7 on the list; the whole concept of Ritual Monsters was what got me into this game in the first place, and the first deck I ever built was a Crab Turtle deck.
(Then the Pegasus Starter came out and Relinquished became my go-to monster for about 2 years...)
i used to have a hungry burger back when nobody in my class had rituals, they all thought he was fake. i wish that he had more designated gimmicky cards like condiments and kitchen related ones, maybe pair him with other food type monsters as well
Only thing I can think of that the effect of Chulainn could work on was if you banished blue eyes red eyes or dark magician but even that seems like a lack luster idea

i hope hungry burger someday gets a retrain to be like a food archetype thats about eating monsters or using counter's to kinda force feed monsters to weaken them. sure they're not tier 1 but it would be great fun

Yeah, it's mainly bad from an art work stand point. But level 6 with 2100 atk and it's a dark fiend. Could find something for it, so not useless at the very least.
When I see Hungry Burger, I think of H2ODelirious' avatar when he plays Uno with friends which is a cheeseburger eating a cheeseburger in front of a plain blue background.
Perhaps owning this card has novelty value in that you're a part of the Delirious Army.

back then there were crappy cards but you could still use them to summon a blue card. It was a good to have a beatstick that had more than 2000 atk. Still love these cards
I was a little kid when the TCG came out and wasn't too into the strategy of the game, but even I could tell a lot of these cards werent worth going through the trouble of summoning.
Hey it is possible to make a very cool deck around Hungry Burger, there is a lot of support for him, like:
- "Magnum Shield" and "Ritual Weapon" can increase his power to more than 3000
- "Pre-Preparations Rites" would be a support for any ritual, however since HB is dark it can be used together with "Allure of Darkness" for deck thinning and card advantage
- "Advanced Ritual Arts", it can be searched with PPR and since HB is level 6 you could further thin out your deck. If the monsters sent are all lvl 1 then are 6 more cards to graveyard(and less in the deck).
- You can also use "Contract with the Abyss" since he is dark
- And also "Exchange of Night and Day" for searching of a light Warrior
So yeah, far from useless

I knew you would put Crab Turtle on the list. I'm not mad, though. I know it's kind of crappy, but it has a special place in my heart because it was the very few ritual monster I ever got. I still have it to this day.
I'd really love a Hungry Burger archetype, maybe like whenever a Hungry Burger monster is sent to the grave it creates Meat Counters equal to its level and then you can use Meat Counters to special summon more Hungry Burger monsters (the idea being that you are grinding up your monsters and reusing them). Maybe you could also use Meat Counters to buff your Hungry Burger monsters.
I have several of the cards on this list in my Ritual Deck. No Fusions/Xyz/Synchros in the lot (due to the effects of the deck's cornerstone, The Seal of Orichalcos), just vanillas, Rituals and a few Effect Monsters, plus Spell/Trap support. One of my favorite things to do is pull out Hungry Burger and equip it with Ritual Weapon, which immediately gives you a Level 6, 3500 ATK beatstick that isn't very hard to Special Summon, which the Seal boosts to 4000. Yes, it's kind of a high risk/high reward deck to play, but I can have a lot of fun with it surprising people.

To be fair, there are more than enough vanilla ritual monsters to fill a list like this. Same with fusions. The fact that he included even one effect monster is a sign that he cares enough to do so.
Hungry Burger has always been my favorite card. I run a somewhat Billy deck with food themed cards including Malicevorous's and Maldoches with random Naturia thrown in. It's not a tournament winning deck but it's an extremely fun deck to play.
