I was having flash back riding in the car with my dad stopped by that 711 off about 200th there everyday. we lived off 252nd not to far after the church. so many memories.
That is so cool!!! We used to go in there before school at Stewart and buy cigarettes out of the machine. They were all cool and would just let us. 😂😂😂😂😂
Beautiful memories are a star in the sky that shines for us, a pearl of pride that sparkles with which we decorate our words, a flute that we sing, and a ship of dreams that we board and sail through the present days with the hope of regaining them in the coming days. Seattle memories are engraved in the depths of the sea. Zakaria Seattle is always in my heart ❤️
As a person who regularly cycles the entire length of pac ave , it surprises me how little things have changed over the years . I can obviously tell that businesses have changed but the overall look has stayed the same .
34:50 that was a clear accident and i like how the guy still talks about the roadways like nothing happened 😂 and the tire rolling down the road too at 29:14 but great video tho this is very nostalgic for my parents as well they remember the taco bell/kfc (he actually worked at when he was a teen) and heck even all the skippers you passed by/btw he also remembers the arbys on 38th st tacoma by my moms house before she moved out and my mom and dad knew each other and she moved in its extremely nostalgic thanks for uploading these videos cause i show this too my parents and when i do they remember everything and i forgot too add but on pacific ave my mom worked at that fred myers around the 80s too the 90s i believe and my dad told me my great grandma and great grandpa worked at that motel with the big neon sign with the 76 gas station next too it and my dad told me he would always get free soda and candy from them since they were my dads grandma and grandpa
At the 6:15 minute mark. Winchell's Donuts. Right near the Freddy's at 72nd and Pac Ave. Been down this street so many times and so many memories it brings back.
Who can tell me what grocery store used to be in the corner of 72nd and Portland ave where it tuned into the Goodwill for a good amount of years. I remember my mom buying some bbq chicken wings from its deli but I have no memory of it as a child. Early 90s is when I remember it.
Probably the Piggly Wiggly. My mother used to shop there back in the day. I used to stare at a display of soda being poured into a glass from a can. It was cool because the soda looked as if it was actually being poured. We used to go to the K Mart there as well, quite a lot.
I wish I could turn the cameras and see all the buildings they're passing. so many memories.

At around 2:40, you see Dudley's Tire on the corner of 48th and Pacific. Dudley, the owner, was my grandpa. My God, what a rush of nostalgia!

Oh the memories
Thank you for posting these videos
What an absolute blast watching this with my wife!
Used to have a Skipper's everywhere back as a kid! Here's to all the folks who worked there! Love these vintage footage!
I miss that restaurant.
My family and all my friends would always eat at Skippers!! Loved their food. I have found one in Downtown Puyallup. But that's it.
I sat through the whole thing! Used to drive that route sometimes a couple of times a day. Saw a few trucks I recognized and lot's of businesses.
Pretty neat how much has changed, and how much is the same.
I was 18 yrs old in 1988. And my kid ran across this video. She was born in 1993. She just sent this to me. I'm watching it now.

29:14 tire rolling down the highway....classic
So much lost history.
Right!!! It's sad. I'm 53 yrs old and this brought back so many memories. I sent this video to my husband and my sister.

Monday. Tacoma's high that day was 71 & it was cloudy, despite that the most Nation had a really hot year.
Meanwhile, in Colville, where I was living at the time, it was hot, miserable and smokey, as a huge forest fire was burning at that moment.
its crazy seeing the route i take everyday before all the buildings were there
Yeah good old days when there was no traffic on Pacific Ave sure ain’t like that now. Now it’s over populated

Crazy how much nothing has changed really on 72nd. The jiffy lube, mcds, Fred meyers and les Schwab are all still there lool
You have anything that’s more north sound like Everett? Thanks for these videos!
Yes, have some North Sound coming as well.
Analog version of google
maps. Would be so cool to spot yourself on this.
Ah, the good old days, when we still had a speedway. Now people drive on our roads as if they're there.
I see my dads truck parked at suburban realty
Parkland Theater 121st & Pacific Ave!
29:15 Random skittering tire on the right
35 years later and the log truck drivers still drive like sh*t on this road.
Is that near accident that happens at 34:50 ?
Woah! Good catch. The WSDOT even briefly stopped the recording.
That semi rear ended the smaller truck.
Don't think it's a near accident, it was an accident!
@@bobscott7440 it was even kind of wsdot’s fault haha
29:10
MISSING TIRE
Welchers gun shop was open lol!
