Wow I was 19 , gas was 51 cents a gal at the Arco just before Redondo We would go drinking at My Place, The Rain Tree , Bull Pen the Jet Inn I hung around an older crowd LOL Very cool memories And I still live in the Redondo Beach area ❤

90s kid here. Growing up in Western Washington (I have since moved) during the 90s and early 2000s was pure magic. It wasn't perfect, but it was just so clean, organized, and just had this conservative liberal vibe. A balance of both. Even back then you had your Seattle hippie types. And to this day I can't shake the memory of how they smelled -- incense, herbs, and sometimes marijuana lol I loved going into the city. Downtown was clean and fun. Wild Waves in the summer, annual camping at Kalaloch or La Push. Fishing at the piers at Ruston Way in Tacoma. I miss those times.

Something I've always payed attention to is the oil slick in the center of the lanes. When I was a kid (90s) my dad always taught me to not walk in the oil in parking lots and roads. These days, the oil slick in the center of the roads are nearly diminished down to nothing. Modern cars rarely leak oil...

I was 17 living in Federal Way off 51st Ave. (Technically Auburn) and was assuredly in class at Thomas Jefferson HS when this was taken. I remember it all - hard to believe this was 27 years ago. I used to frequent that Taco Bell and Village Inn by 320th 😅 I also worked at the Redondo Safeway on 272nd in ‘96/‘97 and saw the sign! Also Sports World! Bring me back!!

Beautiful Thunderbird there at Wendle. Parents bought a Tbird from wendle in 83, might be the same one.

That white car in front at 2:18 is the exact same model car I have, an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. Weird to see one from 30 years ago when it would've been a new car. I also recently drove up this same route its doing at this time. How ironic.

In 1983, we were in the middle of a nasty recession. I don't think I've driven out that way in 20 years. Look at all the old cars. Even the new cars back then are 40 years old now.

Who was on strike at 2:32? I wonder if it was GTE, they had an office on that block. The current Snohomish County hazmat recycle building was the old GTE garage. There was an engineering office a block or 2 to the north.
