It was great that he educated the young man about the craft. I am a dog groomer and we have to hold the clippers in the same manner... Like you hold a pencil. This cut took him from a scruffy university student to a young executive. He still looked very masculine, but more urbane. 5 Stars and 2 Thumbs up

I have no idea how you ended up in my RUclips feed. You’re absolutely vastly different than what I watch as a middle aged American woman who’s a bit of a wannabe hippie (just a bit too young, but born in the 60’s… barely). That being said I have spent the last week pouring over your videos every day and have become quite obsessed with watching you cut hair! I, of course (aging hippie wannabe), have long hair. My hair is very, very thick. I grow it out then donate the sections because there’s so much. You make me want to get my next full length hair cut off done by a barber & have some of the cuts you’ve given longer haired men. They’re so flowy (not a word), but I don’t know how to describe it to my hairdresser. Hey, I want my hair cut like a guy! She’d think I was insane! Your haircuts are THAT GOOD!!! To make a very straight, long haired, mid-fifties, woman want to get her hair cut like a guy because it’s so freeing!! Unfortunately, I don’t have the face for it! Lol 🤣 I wonder what you’d do with women’s hair? I bet you cut your daughter’s. We call a fringe “bangs” here in the states. It took me a while to fully understand your speech & slang! I’m female , my hair has been many lengths from half way down my back to fairly short and I agree with the consultation idea, my hair dresser (only recently found) does that and over many months has got me finally to something easy to keep and I’ve had many compliments on it. She never told me she guided me there and finally at 77 I’m happy with my hair.

Interesting take on co-creating an image for the client more than just giving them a nice haircut. The cut definitely brought out his features, the cheekbones just magically appeared lol, great job 👍

Great cut. I can't tell if the client was a bit disappointed that it was a little shorter in the back. But Dan delivered on the flow.
I agree, it's more a collaboration than a 'look what I can do' approach. There are too many nuances involved in hair to just do what you think should be done. Because at the end of the day, you're not the one walking out with it.
Females certainly tell exactly what they want as far as hair goes!

I’m a hairstylist and 100% agree with you about the “you pick” comment. I have actually said to people “I don’t know you and I don’t know your hair.” I can work with even a bit of direction but otherwise my choice is going to reflect my preferences not yours.

@@thedoncorleone5392 you talk for your RUclips audience, but I was thinking about the client in the chair having to listen for his entire haircut. I was just wondering if he enjoyed being talked at for that long. Great cut, really suited his face.
You could at times speed up the video to 1.5 or 2 x s the speed and mute it if you just want to watch the cut. This particular client seemed very interested as he was encouraging more explanation.
Nice on sides and back, but I think he needs some fringe. Would love to see what a make-up artist would do with his eyebrows that are so low set and close on his nose bridge .Also some work on his very dark mustache and beard.

Hey Dan, what sort of product did you use to keep the hair back like that. I have a very similar cut but I have a problem of the hair parting in the middle and falling off to the sides due to just being weighed down it feels like. And with this length a middle part looks awkward on me 😅.

I guess experience told him that If he cut that length on the side it would end up landing where he wanted it to in the back. But, couldn't we just start in the back if we were targeting a specific length? It kind of seems like the consultations are always a little different, but the approach always seems to be the same.
