- In the cool, marine climate of the Pacific Northwest, Washington produces approximately 90 percent of the nation’s frozen red raspberry crop. By freezing raspberries within hours of being picked at the peak of ripeness, Washington raspberry producers preserve the fruit’s integrity, flavor and nutrition value, so you can enjoy this delicious and nutritious fruit year-round. Get an inside look at how Washington Red Raspberries are grown, harvested and processed in this virtual tour. Learn more about Washington Red Raspberries at redrazz.org.
I started working on a raspberry farm in Washington when i was about 10, my neighbor owned several hundred acres and it was fun for us to do every summer. I learned how to drive on that farm and its still one of my best childhood memories.
I worked at Rader Farms in Lynden a couple of Summers while I was a student at WWU. Great experience, hard work. Brad Rader was very kind to me and easy to work with. I was a trucker.
Cool....always wondered how they pick raspberries.......pretty fascinating process......thanks for posting
I hope Japan promotes the production of raspberry more, and I think the one thing I can do is to be a member of it so I want to be a farmer in the future.
These technologies are very wonderful and I would like to adopt them in Japan someday.
Do you have land to grow raspberry?

Hi, do you have any troubles with Drosophila suzukii?
Yes, swd is a big issue up here in the pnw. As long as you harvest early and use insecticides you can get away through most of the season with little to no swd in the harvested fruit.
@@jeevandhillon1100 it’s the worst problem for berries here in Italy, farmers need to close in the whole field in nets to avoid swd to get in. Pesticides are not always allowed...for sure ealry picking helps. Thanks for answering!
Where can you buy a combine like this?
F yeah raspberries
Why do they wrap their plants into a cane shape, right now ,out in the fields ?
that processing plant has about 4 steps in which they degrade the final product, which is okay for puree but not so good for frozen berries
It hurts my heart when i see that delicate berries get dropped so many times during the process
9:10 Puree is pronounced pyo͝oˈrā.
the way she said 'sprayed with chlorine' so nonchalantly...
How come you don't have bird netting? that's sounds like a dumb question howerver in Europe, the birds will come and eat the berries!
It's not cost effective to have nets over 9600 acres of berries.
What a sexy voice this man has!
