The thing that makes me really angry is the fact that they produce small engines to be eco, but those small trashes just destroy half way faster than the bigger one. M3 E92/ M4 3.0. S5 4.2/ S5 2.9. The mb 6.29L is also a history and everything for the mighty ecology! What a trashtalking :^(.

I have a 2013 S class with 120K km on the odo and it's killing me with the maintenance. Every 9 months I pay $2K-$3K for maintenance and fixes. I don't think these cars can last beyond 7 years without major problems. And the size of your ownership trouble will depend on the options you have on your car. I wouldn't get night vision, 3D sound system and the other fancy features that I know will bite me in the ass after 3yrs of ownership (after the warranty runs out). My service adviser at the dealership tells me that maintaining the 4Matic version of the S coupe costs at least $1000 more per maintenance visit due to the complexity of the suspension system. So my point is that these cars are gorgeous and everything but they're not designed to last and it's not just the engine. It's everything on the car. Components and sensors will compete on failure a few years after ownership and certainly beyond 100,000 km. At least this has been my experience, and I'm a normal driver (my car's lifetime average speed is 43km/hr).
