Every abstract artist needs to hear this advice. This video is packed full of golden nuggets.
I love catching myself saying (as Judy advises) "nope, its too early in the painting to care, yet". So freeing!
Very helpful. having my mind on the outcome has been my “issue” my whole life ❤
Great advice. Thank you 😊
This is very helpful. My challenge is I often fall in love with my first marks and don't want to cover them up.
Me too. But I’ve been braver in layering a bit more.
What a wonderful lesson to be lurnt by heart , remember and apply from a great teacher and artist ! Thank you ever so much Judy for sharing this painting process to achieve a better art.
You are so welcome!
Love this video.. very helpful for me as a beginner ❤
Love this, Judy, thank you.
Thank you so much Judy. This was not new information to me but the ease of your explanation of the outcome versus playing first just makes sense.
Great idea to work on a single theme on three different surfaces. I’ve done three different paintings on three surfaces before…..but never the same inspiration. Thank you.
Innovative
Excellent, you were easy to listen and learn from, I will try your advice, and look forward to trying 😊
Great advice!
😊😊😊 yes!
Thanks Judy. This was great!
Thank you Judy, good advise. I am new to making abstracts and it is difficult for me not to try to execute a specific idea, but I think that I'm getting better at "I'll just try this" mode
YAY!!!!!!
Thanks heaps Judy! 🙏 I’ve heard this kind of approach many times yet somehow the way you said it truly resonated with me to the point I was visually able to see myself going through the process as you were explaining it! Happy creating!
Oh, I'm so pleased. Glad it helped.
Wie immer sehr interessant und hilfreich. Have a nice day , Judy and thank you .❤

Thank you for this bit of advice. I’m going to implement this on my next mixed media project.
Wonderful!
Thanks for this video! It really made alot of sense to me. And doing more than one at the time- well one of them is bound to be a fave😂Thanks for sharing! Going to sub to your RUclips now.❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video. However, I would like to remind you that there are many kinds of abstract art, also very planned and those that have thought work in the background. For example Hilma Af Klint and Naomi Yuki.
Of course - but I'm really speaking to the beginner who is daunted by the first move. Neither of those two would need this advice I think.
