This guy has seen the evolution of MMA he's like an ancient fighter who still has it.
He has a fight left in his UFC contract.
Let's hope the Shogun ends his career with his hand raised 🙌
You cant teach a person to be as violent as Shogun he has such murderous intent with those kicks and that punch against Te Huno when he was Koed ........Thats what was so impressive to see Jon Jones destroy Shogun i couldnt comprehend it
Lol he didn’t
@@jonmcmann6811that's Pride FC for you. Their fights were brutal af and I love it.
I felt bad for shogun when he went to ufc because he was passed his prime and ufc rules took away all his biggest weapons (soccer kicks, knee on ground, stomps) but he still became champion that shows how good he was
Those “weapons” shouldn’t of even existed in the first place
@@m3gad4n67like fuck they shouldn't have, go watch slap league
@@m3gad4n67 why not? 😅 this ain’t soccer kid
@@jacobsaunders1092well if it ain't soccer, than what is the point of the "soccer" kicks 😮
@@m3gad4n67 Not for wild Brazillian, Vale Tudo babe
Shogun in his prime was a machine, he brought the heat from start to finish.
The Randleman kneebar for me, is one of the most impressive of Shogun's many finishes
I saw highlight of that kneebar and Randleman was screaming, it looked brutal.
The accuracy of his soccer kicks is unbelievable. Such a brutal dude. I always love me a good Rua fight!
The finish vs. Machida is legendary, the way he clips him you know Shogun has killer instinct, he knocked him out and got up before the ref even got in. He knew it was over. Thanks for the highlight reel!
It kind of showed machida's weakness on his composure on the ground, he started to get finished alot like that after his shogun loss
Killer Combo!
Yeah good that he stopped earlier Machida it's a super nice guy, shogun as well I met him in an MMA event in Brazil he is very soft spoken
My favorite fighter of all time the one that got me watching MMA even practicing it man when he retires I might just cry 😭💯
Same here dude. Since 2009
Same mate, i started watching MMA with Shogun at PRIDE. When he became UFC champ i almost left a tear, he is a legend and such a nice guy
Definitely a legend
Last fight this month 😢
He retires tonight
Legend. One of the first fighters who helped me become a fan of the sport.
I do hope he stops fighting completely he has been in so many wars - that first fight with Hendo etc.
Was lethal in pride. His soccer kicks were brilliant.
Class fighter happy retirement Shogun. 🙏🏼
This guys a straight up killer
hes one of the best ever, winning a pride grand prix is more impressive then any ufc record in modern times
One of my favorite and one the most entertaining fighters ever to walk the earth. Grit, toughness, heart and killer instinct with skill.
Shogun Rua was my first favorite fighter ever. I started watching MMA when I was a kid. My first match I've ever watched/witnessed was BJ Penn KO'ing Coal Uno in 20 seconds (however short it was) and then I started dabbing into MMA/UFC. When Shogun Rua came along, it was him fighting Quentin Rampage Jackson and I thought "what a brutal fighter." I would start mimicking my stance, strikes just like Shogun's when I did living room brawls/back yard brawls with my buddies after watching a UFC PPV. What a legendary career Shogun has had. When he fought OSP just recently, I felt this overwhelming feeling of "Wow. My childhood is officially over." But regardless, I'm happy for him!
Shogun is a modern day warrior
Shogun in his prime was a truly ko artist, also his run trough pride was brutal af,especially most of his fight from straight finish and went only to the 5 decision, shogun is a true slasher in the game 🤘
He's on of the best fighters ever
Referees We Dr did dat y😅😊😅 10:09 10:09 Tito a r 😂 c d were were 😅 huge😂😢w😂FYI
Shogun and his brother Ninja Rua were like the first Diaz bros of MMA and also they had some nasty knees.
Nope, they weren't drug addicts and didn't act like dicks.
@@sukhdevr3489 weed is not a drug its good for you
@@hippo4214 It literally is a drug.

He showed he's still a competitive fighter even in this last fight against OSP which I thought was super close and you could argue he won the first two rounds. hopefully this legend can go out with a win in his last fight. It's too bad those knee surgeries and hard sparring shortened his prime. Still a legend
Maurício sem dúvidas foi um samurai!
Watching his combos and finishing ability is amazing
Absoluta leyenda indiscutible de las MMA y de el peso Semipesado.
Shogun's entrance song in Pride FC Armin Van Buuren's ''Sail'' is ALMIGHTY...the best entrance ever it's total epic
I would never knew this if you never comment this. Fan of both guys. AVB and Rua
Shogun never walked out to Sail by Armin van Buuren’s Sail until he was in the UFC (I think the first time he walked out to it was for the Liddell fight?). But never in Pride. I’ve seen Shogun walk out to I Wish by Skazi (remix/cover of the infected mushroom song) for the Nakamura fight, Goa n’ Mad (I forget the artist but it’s a goa trance song) for his Grand Prix fight against Nogueira and he had a custom Shogun-Chure Boxe rap done for him coming out to fight Overeem the second time in the US. Off the top of my head.
Excelent video. What a legend, what a compilation
Many thanks!
Heavy hands, well rounded, top g'n'p, and the main property- absolute action🤜
Pride shogun Rua was a monster!!!!
One of the baddest dudes ever
Shogun has such a legendary resume. And these are just the finishes 😳
9:04 this finish perfectly encapsulates what was taken away from shogun when he came to the ufc
The way he knocked Overeem out was the heaviest KO I've ever seen
Bons tempos do Pride FC
One of the best to ever do it.
Legendary.
In pride fc he was a beast
Meu lutador favorito sem dúvidas, o que mais gostei de ver lutando e mais torci. Me fez virar fã do MMA. Nunca foi o mais brilhante tecnicamente mas enquanto teve saúde pra ser agressivo, ganhava por agressividade e pela mão pesadíssima. Uma lenda sem dúvidas.
Shogun leyenda....
Shogun’s farewell match is coming up this month I am not going to miss it Love You Shogun
A Vitoria Sobre o Arona e Machida são as melhores..e claro quando o MMA se lutava de verdade..agora não pode nem dar cotoveladas
Orgulho do Brasil, lenda do esporte! Saúde ao Maurício que reapresentou o Brasil em grande estilo! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Coleman was 44 when he fought Shogun who was 27 for the 2nd time now Shogun is 40 and in the last fight of his UFC contract taking on a 26 year old. Time waits for no man in the world of MMA
My favorite fighter for ever 💪💪💪
Legend
That uppercut to Coleman was vicious and he beat overream twice, he is a legend
He beat Pride Overeem too
Wow I had no idea he finished Forrest. Especially since Forrest won the first fight
He fights like me during a bath
I can so relate to this dude 😂
i love shogun
Villante and the pedro finish were his best showings
un mito ancora nessuno come lui
Oh my god that Diabate finish was absolutely fucking savage.
Stomped him out like a cigarette.
a legend of the sport
Legend.
Eso si es dinamita en los puños !!!
Shogun and Wanderlei were the LHW GOATs in my book
Shogun was another level!
True Legend
Pride F.C. Never Die!
BEST KNOCKOUT ARTIST
O melhor que eu vi, sem dúvida nenhuma
I miss PRIDE
I want soccer kicks, foot stomps and knees to the head in ufc
True mma... Not giving ground fighters advantage
Fedor, Shogun & DC my 3 favorite MMA fighters.....Shogun & Fedor are true MMA fighters using every aspect
Pride shogun is terrifieing!
WAR SHOGUN! My favorite
soccer kicks are wild😭
they forgot the fight they put in the thumbnail 😅 (Tyson Pedro)
Шогун и крокоп любимые бойцы из прайда
Don't ever mess with this guy...
The embodiment of live and die by the sword
My absolute favorites in this era were Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and shogun Hua. In no particular order they all just kicked ass and chewed bubblegum.
Im fan rua
The man had one of the best killer instincts in the game, when he had you hurt, you were fucked.
Goddd damnnn those soccer kicks to rampage were brutal I miss pride😞
His punch on Overeem on the ground I think has to be the fastest strike thrown in an actual fight. That right hand was travelling light seed bruh.
Шогун 💪🏽🇧🇷
I was there when he KOed Chuck and when he won the belt from Machida
My favorite is against rampage in pride
shogun is the goat LHW
Why did he stop throwing knees after moving to the UFC?
Still one of my favorite fighters of all time.
Rua officiates his own fights
Pride day the best
Rampage got beat by everyone back in the day.....dam
👍👍👍
a bit savage mr rua...
10:36 damn, Ruthless.
please make luke rockhold top finishes
Bruh why🤣 do u have a crush on him, hes a bum fighter
I wish ufc had soccer kicks like pride did
UFC is trash compared to Pride FC.
Probably One of the best young fighters to come on the scene in pride beat rampage beat little nog beat arona in a tournament I can't remember if he beat overeem in this tournament or another pride tournament
Shoguns run in Pride is the stuff of legend. He faced a murderers row of opponents and apart from the freak injury to Coleman his only other competitive fight was against Nogueira. He went out and destroyed the best 205 fighters in the world for several years.
Prime shogun was an outright terror
You missed Shogun Rua vs Cyborg Santos
Some say shogun was the child of prophecy just like naruto
Pride was just brutal and Savage
It made the UFC look like
A game of tic-tac-toe
That era of mma when Pride FC and the UFC were going head to head is the golden age of fighting. We will never see that again. It was total chaos back then.
2:06 Commentator name?
Mauro Ranallo
For Shogun , training was 10 times worse then an actual Pride of UFC fight.
1:52 at the last second he decided to miss the guy.. he could have crucified him , but didn't ..hit the ground right beside him... Don't gimme no crap about he just missed .. that man was out cold and was a still target when shogun STARTED to throw that punch.. he missed on purpose
macchina da guerra
And Shoji got feed to the wolf's in pride jesus..
9:4 rua vs diabete que isso chogun lutando contra diabete
Bring back Pride rules
Jay Glazer said that shogun and rampages styles wouldn't work against Machida haha 😆 😂 🤣!!! Anyone besides myself remember that??? (Who were the 1st 2 to beat Machida Jay Glazer?)
in pride this man got beat to everybody but when went to ufc and face to jon jones the things changed
Jon Jones: hmm...
Chute boxe baby
Нононононононононононононононооооооооооо
I really hated the drunk liddell version of chuck he's a way better fighter than that
so glad UFC banned soccer kicks and stomps. so fuckin brutal. like after getting dropped no man should have to eat a kick to the head
Wish they’d bring them back.
@@thejmc4074 I think it would be a good idea for smaller promotions to get bigger but I’d like the ufc to keep those illegal
I agree
Stfuu pride rules were way better
@@cmonnflseason why?
UFC PLEASE. Allow knees and kicks to a ground opponent. Guys like aljo would never be champ
