That dealership could smell the desperation of a tourist or they really didn't wanna get their hands dirty and just wanna be salespeople selling bikes.
This series is near the end and I'm devastated, Danny, thankyou mate for giving me and my family laughter and sometimes your honest heartfelt scenes. All your hard work vlogin is absolutely 100% noticed by all👍
I had to give up riding a couple of years ago due to health, but I have been riding with you via hundreds of your videos since then. From mountains to deserts, upright to upside down, trails, highways, streams, hogs to monkey bikes, what a journey! Thank you my friend.
That's way too simple & easy... remember what Mr. Moto Magoo said in so many words " I am an old dog stuck in his ways & can't learn new tricks as explained or told, So I learn with hands on experience dealing with these things himself" In other words you have to hit that pothole, bust the tyre & crack the rim in order to understand that potholes are something to avoid,( especially in Mexico.) Makes for good non common sensical humor & interactive content for all us Bobberheaded fanboys, giving the subscribers & casual viewers something more to scratch our heads about here in the comment section.
Another epic instalment 👍 the drone footage at the end 👌🏻 brought tears to my eyes when I think about how far you’ve come on this amazing journey. Well done Danny. Great job.
Follow you for years now and you've inspired me for my road(and offroad😉) trips. See a lot off things in common about feelings and reactions. Thanks man, cheers from France 👍💪
That bike needs to be in the Harley Davidson Museum. And Harley Davidson should recognize Danny as the the true real life poster child of Harley Davidson
A buddy and me were travelling the US and when we needed a rear tire installed on his 2013 CVO Electra Glide, with tax and install it was 642$US!! In Canada i bought both a front and rear with install and paid 850$ CDN!!! Some Dealers are just taking advantage of riders!
Danny, incredible footage at the end!!! With Deeper than the Ocean playing in the background had me moved to tears! Your music selections are on point. Keep moving forward mate
Danny thanks once again for an awesome days adventure, couldnt believe that price of a new tyre.Ride safe and get that Road King a new rear and a well deserved service.
Whoa… that was a heck of markup on that tire! I’m glad you’re going to get the bike all squared away again very soon with not much more driving as it is. You’re a true warrior… not matter how much you may whinge! 😘
Danny when parking your bike head in on a grade put the bike in gear to prevent it from sliding downhill, parking sideways on a slight grade always keep the kickstand facing the downgrade side. Carrying a small 2"x3" wood tire chock is handy as well & useful to put under your kickstand on those uneven surfaces. You can do better than Dunslop tyres, you need an industrial or agricultural grade tyre with more plys & better tread & heavier load rating, you'll pay the price for quality (though much less than a Mexican HD dealers "saw you coming" price of $700 including mounting,, but it's well worth it the ways you ride.., You May get 10-12k at best out of a good quality touring/ road tyre, but getting 20k out of any bike tyre on a bagger, that may be a bit optimistic or even delusional..We use to put heavy duty bias mud & snow car tyres on the back our Bagger/Dresser Harleys back in the 1960's a good 6-8 ply car tyre lasted an easy 40-50k. Good for straight line riding, gravel roads & dirt tracks but must ridden with both hands, less confidence & more caution in the curves & twisties. I remember car tyres often outlasted the AMF shovel head engines. I hope it's just an exhaust leak and not a head gasket, your mud clogged radiator could be causing some overheating, A good high pressure washing once in a while wouldn't hurt.
Always found cities surrounded by mountains a lot more reassuring and less intimidating for riding in than those without. Cities like London, Paris and Toronto with endless suburbs caused me some anxiety, but cities like Vancouver where you could see the edges and know there were open roads beyond helped me to relax. Great vlog.
I’ve run Michelins and Dunlop but after I started running Metzeler Me888’s I’ll never run another tire again ! Give them a shot one day on your other bikes too 👌🏼😎 LIVIN’ THE DREAM !
Practice plugging a tire with Colin’s guidance. Love the vlog! Also buy a KTM 1290 super adventure S and you’ll have the bike you described with a V twin and 160 hp.
@Greg I’ve had 2, a 17 and now a 22, it’s a bad ass bike, it runs circles around a Harley. I test drove a pan america, it was ok but no SAS or SAR. The biggest issue is the dealer network, it’s lacking. Harley dealers are in damn near every city in the us. I’m a mechanic so it’s not as big an issue for me, I’ve also never had it break down and strand me. I could see Danny put some big miles on a super adventure.
Sometimes we forget about what makes life so enjoyable Danny scenery the people and the journeys ahead and when you see these they are inspirational because they are real I've really enjoyed this ride wish they could go on forever ever mate but I've kinda noticed your starting to become a little road weary but as you say there's time for that now later enjoy the trip back to the states my friend and be careful and ride safe God love ya

Danny's unique and learns from his mistakes no matter how trivial or how costly they are. It's ALL ok as we're all equally as special one way or another. The main thing is Danny learnt something today and that's something we can ALL take away from this. Why bag Danny ?? We watch his journeys to escape our own menial days or to bring back past memories of our own. Danny's living the dream. Don't stop mate..
The Road Beast is the best. You have proven to me the durability of a Harley. Enjoyed your thoughts on what to change for riding everywhere. Keep riding.
Coyote Harley Davidson is the true definition of a Stealership. I ditched the Dunlop's several years ago for the Michelin Commander II's. I get twice the mileage from the Michelin's, around 24,000 miles or 38,625 kilometers. Michelin offers a Harley Davidson branded tire called the Scorcher 31. I have tried them before and they seemed to get pretty good wear also. I am currently trying out the Michelin Commander III's. Some people have been having an issue with a front vibration on the Commander III's, but I have had none. I ride a 2014 Ultra Classic, so it is a little heavier than your RK. I ride around 14,000 miles/ 22,500 kilometers a year. This has been a great series Danny. Hope you make it back to America next year for Sturgis. I follow you on FB and IG.
Absolutely a great series. Totally enjoyed. Check the nuts where the exhaust connects to the motor. Mine worked loose, but tightening was easy and never had any further issues. Travel safe.
I have found the best tire for my Fatboy which weighs around 750 lbs were the Dunlop American Elite. Absolutely the longest wearing mc tire at 15 to 20 k if they have ones to fit your ride.
I made an appointment with the Harley dealer in my area for a new front tire…. I had just gotten my rear done a month prior at a different shop, when I got there they made me wait an hour before even bringing my bike in the shop. Once they brought it in I sat for 45 minutes before I noticed a truck come and drop of a front and rear tire. Didn’t really think much about it. After another 45 minutes the service manager called me and told me they won’t put a front on unless I put on a rear as well. When I told them that the rear was brand new they said I see that, but they won’t install a front unless I buy the rear and get that replaced too because it was a different brand than what they sell. After another half hour of me yelling for them to just give me back my bike and to fuck off they finally drove my bike out revving and skidding to a stop across the parking lot to park it as far away from me as possible. As I walked over the manager threw the keys at me….. I politely told him to go fuck himself for holding my bike hostage and treating it like they want to break it for me. As well as the fine customer service I received as they tried to strongarm me into paying for a front and back tire. I will do everything I can to never spend money at a Harley dealer again…..
This has been an incredible series Danny, a bit dramatic at times , however so much fun to watch. You cinema photography is top notch! Stat safe, keep doing what YOU are doing! just a thought, instead of doing all those mods on your beloved Road King, aka THE BEAST, just fix up your exhaust and tires back to original, and get yourself a Pan American Special! It's a federal highway from Tampico to Monterrey. Toll roads are operated by different private companies, which is why you pay your journey in parts. On your way to Laredo, you had to go through the last Toll. Unlike Sydney, there are no city toll roads in Monterrey, however in Austin, Dallas and Houston they have toll loops and if you use them frequently, it can add up.
Well. That was one of the most honest, no, best, no, straightforward . Loved it man. Harley Rider RGlide. . Keep on going as Big Black Dog is starting t pass. thanks...
I love riding in Mexico, re: the Tolls, from what I can tell, if there are 2 roads that will get you from the same Points A to B. One is the old Camino Libre (Free Road) the other will be the Expressway and that will have Tolls. But if there is only One Road option between A & B and it doesn't have Bridges and Tunnels then there won't be tolls. Often the Free Road is where the adventure is, but they tend to be windier and narrower with plenty of speed bumps anytime you get near any town or hamlet, but the more interesting option if you have the extra time.
Kings of the baggers road race Harley’s are lifted for ground clearance and have their exhaust relocated as well…maybe that could give you some ideas for the road beast
Enjoying your videos, Danny. Just recently found you and have subscribed to your channel. Keep the shiny side up, buddy… Oh wait… there is no shiny side. The beast is pretty dirty. 😜 Keep on truckin’! Good on ya, mate!
Danny get the Dirty Air Shocks installed. That will solve your problem with ground clearance without giving you any issues with flat footing your bike in traffic.
The multitude of toll roads across Mexico were established in the 1990s when a vast road network was built, and they needed all the tolls to help pay for it. The roads where there aren’t many tolls will likely be older highways.
That tire was just fine for your bike. Unless you go exploring down a random trail in death valley. The exhaust leak isn't really a problem in Mexico, unless you start feeling a loss in torque. They don't really even require mufflers there. Best to fix it before California though. You'll get pulled over for a loud fart there.
You want to make all these changes to the bike - please just buy the bike your trying to turn that one into - I would love to see you on a long trip with the Pan Am - I have not seen any long trip reviews for that model. Keep safe and thanks brother.
Fanny, you didn’t see a toll booth because you’re on the old highway or “la carretera vieja” the new one up to the border you pay tolls for the new condition of the road, convenience and amenities. I always prefer the old road.
Reason for Machinegun at Tolls so people from Australia Pay. Here in Austin we also have tolls roads except we pay through the mail and if you don't pay in time they multiply several hundred times and they take your license no machinegun needed
Yea no one i know puts factory rubber back on after it wears out. They upgrade to something better. He's a HD fanboy though with boots and even a HD tyre pump lol
Experiencing it for yourself is the reason I put a car tire on the rear of my motorcycle to try it out for myself! No issues yet and for the kind of long trips you do.... You would get a lot more miles out of a car tire and you can get a run flat tire also!
I’m sorry but I’m confused.. .It was slipping backwards in that parking lot while in first gear?? Ridden in a lot of places, parked on some very steep places, never had that unless I forgot to put the bike in gear. Just curious if Harley’s are different. Great vids!
@@mickkkkyy They had used bikes only. I just checked again right now, and they have 9 new bikes in stock, including a Road King. Prices are crazy though.

Fanny, you didn’t see a toll booth because you’re on the old highway or “la carretera vieja” the new one up to the border you pay tolls for the new condition of the road, convenience and amenities. I always prefer the old road.
Not Fanny! DANNY!!
Reason for Machinegun at Tolls so people from Australia Pay. Here in Austin we also have tolls roads except we pay through the mail and if you don't pay in time they multiply several hundred times and they take your license no machinegun needed
Nobody uses harley tires unless they have more money than sense . Everyone I know in UK uses Avon cobra tyres .
Yea no one i know puts factory rubber back on after it wears out. They upgrade to something better. He's a HD fanboy though with boots and even a HD tyre pump lol
What an amazing sunset 🌇
Experiencing it for yourself is the reason I put a car tire on the rear of my motorcycle to try it out for myself! No issues yet and for the kind of long trips you do.... You would get a lot more miles out of a car tire and you can get a run flat tire also!
I’m sorry but I’m confused.. .It was slipping backwards in that parking lot while in first gear?? Ridden in a lot of places, parked on some very steep places, never had that unless I forgot to put the bike in gear. Just curious if Harley’s are different. Great vids!
merci pour tout dany
Great show buddy
Wonderful vid yet again Danny. Not long to go now, your emergency tyre is doing good 👍. Ridiculous amount for that HD tyre though...
Danny must have done more for HD sales than a 1000 Harley PR executives ever could , hell even I’m fancying one now 😊
I bought a Triumph last month. The local dealership had no new Harleys. None.
@@jeffrielley920 as in sold out ?
@@mickkkkyy They had used bikes only. I just checked again right now, and they have 9 new bikes in stock, including a Road King. Prices are crazy though.
I would have figured a big time “long-distance” Harley rider would know to put the bike in first gear when parking on an incline??
I was thinking it, you said it!
Hey Danny, i got that CVO Roadglide shown in the Coyote Harley-Davidson, by the way everything is expensier here than in the US
