    The story is supposed to take place around LA. The amount of desert actually makes a little sense, there are already worries about desert climates encroaching on LA. So three to four nukes hitting LA could cause enough damage to the environment for the desert to encroach on where the city previously was. We're supposed to visit at least two vaults, 33 and 32. Lucy's father is the Overseer of Vault 33 we see him in the scene at 16:41. The Cyclops is I guess the Overseer of 32, but personally I agree with you the Cyclops is rather stupid. I hope they have some kind of justification but who knows. In regards to him riding the horse toward the explosions, a potential reason is that he's riding in the direction of one of the vaults, hoping that for some reason it's still open so he can get inside.

      Cool! Thanks for explaining the vault 33 vs 32 thing, did not catch that. Yeah I thought they were the same person on first viewing, realized they were different at that 16 minute point.
      Of course the story takes place around LA, much cheaper for a Hollywood director to get landmark footage from next door :P
      On the plus side I was hoping this would be a retelling of Vault 13's story (imo has the best ending), but now I just wonder if the people writing this have enough interest in the series to even know where vault 13 is :/ (or at least a mention in one of the episodes?)
      As for the cyclops eye...I dunno, even with some justification (even if they manage to make it not sound absolutely absurd) that will still look silly.
      (I bet the justification used is radiation leak :P )
      Riding towards the explosion...even if in the direction of one of the vaults, just looks bad imo.
      I mean...are they big scary nuclear bombs going off?
      Or can we just ride toward them like nothing is happening?
      (also, those two need to be severely sunburned if they witness 4 nukes from that distance :P)
      But hey, this could just be a poorly edited trailer, there's still time for some of the sillier stuff to be swapped around :)

      @@quantumapprentice8120 I agree with you. Now admittedly I just heard the second vault we visit in the show is 32, I don't see anything in the trailer that shows it's vault 32. I'm just going off her father being reported as the Overseer of her vault, and this being another Overseer from the looks of it.
      I kind of like that they're not going into Vault 13. It would be too easy to trip up due to that being used from an actual game. Personally, I would have preferred them doing the North West, like doing a Vault in either Oregon or Washington, neither of which I think have even been mentioned yet in Fallout lore, so you wouldn't be as bogged down by that lore. I mean heck even with this one being in 33, it's being attacked by people because they're saying it doesn't follow the lore.

      @quantumapprentice8120  11 месяцев назад +1

      lol attacked for not following the lore, welcome to the internet :P
      Arroyo (in FO2) was in the southern part of Oregon, but yeah there's no mention of the big cities in the northwest, Seattle and Portland.
      Would be nice to have an expansion of the world, but I'm not sure I trust whoever is writing it right now :/ @@jormungaurd

    Hi mate , that's a good review video of yours on Fallout TV series :) But i have some opinions of mine which is kinda conflict with yours :) First of all i also think that Fallout 1 story is better than Fallout 2 , but that doesn't means that Fallout 2 story is bad , it's like Fallout 1 story is 10/10 and Fallout 2 Story is like 8.5/10 but still Fallout 2 story is much better than other bethesda series :) ( you actually mentioned about that ) But the thing is Fallout 2 has soo much place to explore and soo many things to do , their side quest are much much much better than Fallout 1 soo if we combine all stories being told in this both original Fallouts , Fallout 2 's storytelling definitely did much better than Fallout 1 . On the other thing on Fallout TV Series i also have really doubt on this TV show , as Tim Cain mentioned about his videos about what main story he is trying to achive if he had enough budget to make his game is , the people live in vault is trying to explore wasteland and finds out the wasteland is not habitable place to live soo they try to figure out to go out space and leave the world as soon as possible , i'm not 100% sure that if this idea comes into life becomes a sucessfull storytelling on TV Series but the main topic on this TV Series should be the Wasteland is too hostile place to live soo the TV Series should impact on this crutial issue really well and the other thing i really hope that this TV series ain't use too much comical featues like disney did like adding some kind of meaningless jokes and stuff something like that , trying to portrait the world outside more fun . They can get some features on some fan Made TV Series on youtube which it's name was Nuka Break , it was kinda good tv series .

    • @quantumapprentice8120
      @quantumapprentice8120  11 месяцев назад

      yeah the story telling in Fallout 2 was better in some respects, but the ending to Fallout 1 is just superior to everything else ("You're a hero, and you have to leave."), and imo would work better as an introduction season.
      Nuka Break was cool, only watched a few episodes though.

    With this abomination and the Borderlands movie rumored to come out next year I'm just done. This looks like the safest, most basic bullshit I've ever seen. All franchises, video games or otherwise, will be killed eventually if they get big enough.

      The 2nd trailer is better though, so part of the problem could have been bad editing in this trailer.

      @@quantumapprentice8120 see I really prefer the first trailer. But I'm kind of weird and hate spoilers. I almost never watch trailers until after I've watched the movie or show. So I felt like the second trailer revealed way too much of the show but I did think it was a cool trailer.

      @@quantumapprentice8120 the second argument is understandable though sad. With the first one will never agree. No f3, f69 or even new vegas or whatever will be even close to that atmosphere, those characters, those factions and pervasive lore and dark humor as Interplay's original Fallout games. Yeah I know, 2d old school retrospective views and stuff, but this all "new wave" Bethesda's fallout is totally a cringe show. Just take a look at Oblivion and Morrowind with all their glitches and bugs and put it in the Fallout universe with all those awkwardly stupid dialogues and stuff. At least ES they did by themselves not through taking somebody's author's rights) It is a loong theme of discussion. Man come on. Beth fallout is nothing but a little Todd's fanfic spinoff. And that "fallout" show is an absolutely trauma-inducing cringe.

      Well F3 was great, finaly brought the series into proper fps 3D'some ness. Well F4 altho a upgrade in battle and building gameplay ... a kinda downgrade in all other aspects. But F76 is trash just like the sries is going to be, altho I can see from the making of cc of 76 what they wanted to do ... or atleast the actuall devs of it, a sorta HellDivers2 kind of game in the Fallout universe altho ultimativly they utterly failed at that.
      Especially since I forgot its name ... senimax or something alike, the lead (not Todd, he was as stated more involved into Starfield than 76) wanted to save money by not including NPC's with voice acting since that would be more costly so they came up with the bs excuse to make it more immersive, I kinda liked the without NPC's version way more tho since they designs now look like crap and the overseer does not look like anything I expected and imagined in my mind. But ain't it funny that Starfield a 200m development cost game is even worse with Todds lead? ...Oh well they had a good run with F3/4.
      Btw. just before anybody crys about never getting Van Buren aka. F3, ALL its core elements flowed into NV, it only span around the story that Powdergangers fight the NCR, so in a sense Bethesda made NV unintentionally great. A aspect many choose to ignore just to hate on things other people enjoy. Btw I still wonder why they went to go the rout to make all ghouls sound like chain smokers, it sure was not like that in Fallout 1 as seen with Harold.
