Thanks for watching everyone. In this video I shared how going home during "Exodus" made me home sick and had second thoughts about being in the U.S. Army which gave me ideas of sabotaging my training until a Drill Sergeant gave me the talk before I was about to get kicked out. Please like and subscribe and help me grow on RUclips. I appreciate you.
We had a police officer just graduate the academy. In her first week, she responded to a train station where a man was breaking every window. He was a big guy and didn't respond to de-escalation techniques. The fight was on, and he had super strength. This resulted from PCP and Angel Dust in his system. He didn't survive the fight. The Medical Examiner said he was "walking DOA". His heart was so damaged from drugs that he would've died that week. The female cop never returned to work. I gave it a college try to persuade her, but maybe she didn't belong anyway.
Sgt. Kelly knew you could mature in the army and gain confidence as a man. He also knew you would be able to go to school on the G.I. bill. I think there's truth to the saying that they'll make a man out of you. Your recounting of him speaks to the respect you had for him and the care that he took to guide you. He saw a diamond in the rough.
Oh wow this means a lot, considering Sgt. Kelly was a bad ass and screaming at us endlessly on day 1 as were getting off that cattle truck. I get teary-eyed especially on that moment when I talked to him because I was 100% convinced I wanted out, but when he spoke it was like I heard a higher voice. A voice I could not ignore. I'm a bit spiritual that way. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comments. ❤️

@thomashouse6090 That is truly amazing. Sometimes, I wonder what would've happened if I had stayed in for 20+ years. Thanks for watching, and thank you for your service.
Back then, leadership in the Army was better. They really care even though the NCOs were pissed. Now.....all they do is trying to make the next rank without being proficient in their MOS. Glad it all worked out for you and the benefits that came with it especially now as a veteran. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Around 10% get recycle or kicked out because of medical or misconduct from my Company. Lucky not me, about to finish my contract. never cry while working out before, OSUT suck lol.
I feel lucky that I never got hurt. I believe some people in my unit got tendinitis after that fifteen mile road march, and we're sent home. Thanks for watching and best of luck!

Our NCOs were mean and funny at the same time. They liked to sneak up on us, "like a snake in the grass." A quote from an NCO. 🤣
Army is fun so long as you're not in a war.
You can get to play CAll of duty SIM mode.
But if you're sent to war, you're essentially dead.
2 week vacation during bootcamp? I joined the wrong service!
@@roadtrekralph311 That vacation is a blessing and a curse. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
If your cycle runs through Christmas, yeah you get that time off.

Retirement and health care for life. Health care takes a big chunk of your retirement money. Albeit, VA Healthcare is not perfect, but it's available.
